Surprising- Don't Let it Fool You!

I got a huge order during the Besties sale. I decided to get this Naked prism palette after seeing great reviews. Upon opening it, it was a bit smaller than I expected, but was really sleek- love the packaging. Opening the palette I thought to myself- these are nice, but nothing special in colour. Boy, was I mistaken.I already had eyeshadow on but decided the second lightest colour (slight yellow hue) and the darkest shade would compliment my current look. Oh my gosh. They were SO much more pigmented upon application. The darkest shade looks like it would be a mid-tone brown but it is so dark and rich when you apply it! I was surprised. It says you can use these wet for a more striking look, but I used them dry with no issues! Creamy, buttery. Limited fallout from what I could tell. Blended like a dream. Oh boy, what a treat! Going to buy the other two for sure, but this friendly, everyday palette is a must-have! I also think it would be beginner friendly.Wear is good. Lasts all day, especially with a primer. I wore it with their baked eyeshadows (Toasted, Bark, Chocolate Dreams) and Moonlight Pearls baked highlighter- they go great together! « less

Awful quality

Firstly, the colors are NOT pigmented AT ALL! The 1st color from the left didn't even show up on my lid. The 2nd color is nothing but only shimmer. And the 7th is way more purple in real life compared to the picture.Secondly, there are too much of fall out and even the ELF brushes cannot pick up the colors. I used the ELF Crease brush and ELF Blending brush. They did pick up some pigments but after I tap off the excess, the brushes are left with nothing on the bristols.Lastly, some of the colors cannot be blended. The 7th and 9th color, I put them in my crease and they sat there before I can even blend them out.TOO BAD

Surprisingly great!

I haven't had the best experience with elf eyeshadow palettes in the past. They've broken easily, the pigmentation hasn't been great, and some aren't very long lasting. But, this palette soared above and beyond my expectations! The packaging is sleek and thin, and it will probably fit into most purses. The pans are a decent size, and the mirror is very large. It does not come with a brush or sponge-tipped applicators. These shadows have AMAZING pigmentation, except for the black one. It's hard to find a black with good pigmentation anyways. I was expecting the shadows to be very chalky and translucent, but they're *so* creamy and pigmented! They blend very easily and can probably be worn both with and without a primer, but I prefer a primer. The palette is extremely versatile as well. I'm always on the lookout for great brow products, and at least four of the shadows in the palette can double as a great and natural looking brow powder. I don't recommend using the black to do a smokey eye because of how light it is, but some of the darker browns will create a beautiful neutral smokey eye.I highly recommend this product to both beginners and experts alike. This needs to become a staple in your makeup bag! Less

Dark and Moody Shine

Pros: Unique duo-chromes, intense shimmers, unusual mats, shades are buildable.Cons: Half the shades take building, some colors payoff is poor, not fully usable as a standalone palette. Some fallout if not applied wet/glitter glue/etcTLDR: I really love this palette. It injects color into my mostly basic collection in a grungy not rainbow way. It has some colors that are very special, like Sun Yourself ? gold with green shift and Saltwater ? blue with iridescent purple shift. I personally, like colors you build up rather than start overly strong, so that is a bonus to me.Shade breakdown:1. Trenches ? it is a very serviceable smoky deep gray. It isn?t the best, but it blends out nicely, is intense enough for liner. A decent black/dark gray is hard to find, and it frankly impressive at this price point.2. Underwater ? Teal blue metallic shimmer with a brown base. It might have a shift, but I couldn?t quite tell if it was only in my mind. It works great as a lid color, but if you try to blend it out, it simply ends up looking like gray-green shimmer.3. Can?t Kelp It ? Great matte, dirty forest green. No patchiness or blending issues.4. Desert Storm ? Another good matte, it is bit more yellow and less brown on the eyes, still very mustard.5. Sahara ? Lovely blending shimmer or lid pop. It is quite a bit more grass green on the eyes than in the pan. Very spring.6. Spruced Up ? This matte does not go on strong; it takes a bit of building. I also wish it was darker to give the Earth side of the palette a balance to Trenches.7. Abyss ? One of the lackluster mattes it builds, but it just doesn?t look as lovely and as rich as I was hoping. It does darken up blue looks very well.8. Drip Drip ? This shade is stunning. It catches the light very nicely. I wore great all day too.9. Lagoon ? Pressed Blue ? Silver glitter on clear base, lid topper. It is seriously nice, seriously glittery. I have other things somewhat similar, but it is different enough I?m pleased with it.10. Rock Bottom ? metallic cool bronze shade. It builds, it blends, and no complaints. It isn?t all that unique, however.11. Gold Rush ? gold shimmer on clear base, very bright. It is a nice, but again not unique.12. Sun Yourself ? So, I?m not sure if I?m going crazy but when swatched this just looks like a paler version of Gold Rush. On my eye it has a green shift? Weird, but there it is. Your results may vary, but I adore it.13. Siren ? I?m not quite sure if I would call this a duo chrome, it is purple ? blue over gray base. It is nice, but for some reason it doesn?t wow as much as it wows me in a swatch.14. Oasis ? This is the weakest shade in the palette in my opinion. It isn?t very pigmented; I can barely see it on me. (I am the palest of the pales). It can and will build, but you do need to work, unfortunately. The color once built is a periwinkle and compliments the other shades well.15. Saltwater ? This is my favorite shade. It sits between purple/blue perfectly in metallic formula that looks so nice. I blend some gray in the crease, slap this one on, and stunning.16. Tundra ? clear base, neutral pressed glitter. It is more reflective than silver. Nice, but like the other pressed glitter isn?t mind-blowing.17. Fuji Feels ? is a darker, copperier version of Rock Bottom. It doesn?t blend out as nice, sheering a bit more than I?d like. Pretty, but not unusual.18. Mojave Mami ? This is neutral transition color. Like Trenches in the fact it is color you need to work into looks, and nothing amazing, but it functions as needed and doesn?t give you any grief. Less

Love all three palettes! Creamy and pigmented!

These, together with the loose Mineral shadows, are "e.l.f."'s best eye shadows in my opinions. All three palettes are extremely pigmented. You can use them without a primer if you wish; they are very creamy and apply easily. But! Used with a primer, they are just spectacular... Each color is very pigmented and vivid, so you will definitely get noticed - these aren't for those who are going for a subtle makeup look. I personally use the "Naked" palette almost every single day because I love the first two colors for the inner corner of my eye, but every color in each palette will give you a very good pay off and will be very true to what you see in the pan. With a primer, they last all day with no creasing. And I do so recommend "e.l.f."'s eye shadow primers in "sheer" (both, the Essential and the Mineral). These are a little similar to pressed pigments, so I actually prefer to use the sponge applicator that comes with these palettes. And you do have to be careful not to press too hard, because they are very soft and creamy. They also blend out pretty well, so very versatile in terms of colors you can create. I even tried layering the green and the gold and it looks gorgeous. Can't say anything bad about these at all because I love them and recommend them to all my friends. 5 stars from me and definitely worth purchasing, especially when they go on sale. « less
