I have super dry skin and can’t seem to find the perfect combination of products. I also only wear concealer no foundation. What do y’all use for skincare, primer, and concealer?

You might need a hydrator and a moisturizer... use the hydrator wherever you get really dry and a moisturizer everywhere. A hydrator is going to go deeper into the skin (into the dermis) while a moisturizer only adds moisture to the outer layer (the epidermis). My personal favorite hydrator is the Clinique moisture surge because I have extremely send skin. A lot of Clinique products irritate my skin but not this one.

When I use foundation, it’s simply too thick, I don’t like the way it looks or feels on my skin. I’ve resorted to using a concealer that’s my skin tone as a foundation, but obviously that isn’t the best solution. What should I be looking for for a lighter wear that’s still something I can build off of? Looking for good light wear foundations or any other suggested product.

@Channy Monahan this foundation looks like skin with a healthy glow, very beautiful, natural looking On days I don’t want to put foundation all over my face I just use concealer only on the areas I need it, currently Elf’s hydrating camo concealer but I also really love Maybelline’s age rewind eraser concealer

try this puppy! it says it’s $69 but it’s definitely not that expensive lol. I use it everyday and my under eyes are pretty clean but the end of the day.

@Madisen Smith I hate that I don’t like this mascara because everyone says it’s great. I don’t really like it because I find it to be clumpy, and it doesn’t last all day. It definitely gives me that raccoon look after awhile lol. I’m so glad it works for everyone else though, I know it’s a cult fave.

I need help finding a good everyday lip.. I have never really done anything with my lips unless I wear a bold lipstick, but I’ve been very self conscious about my no bold lipstick lips lately. I’ve been just wearing chapstick especially because of it being winter time. But I think I want a nude lipstick that isn’t matte that will last a long time. I usually wear a full face of makeup and the just chapstick needs to go lol

Mac has a really pretty nude lipstick in the shade bad n bare! I forgot about it for a while and just found it and have been wearing it everyday to work! Just a little something that isn’t very noticeable but makes me feel good! It’s also a satin formula so it’s not drying like a matte would be and it’s a really long lasting formula! The shade velvet teddy is also pretty if you want to do a more pinky nude, I didn’t include a photo of that one. All the Mac lipsticks are awesome

my skin has been oily for years, i would get a pimple here and there when i usually ate one chocolate, skin has always been on the bumpy side though, and i have alot of uneven skin tone. now to try to get rid of the oils and bumpiness my sister recommend using the body shop tea tree soap, then the body shot vitamin c scrub and them the tea tree face mask and to sleep in it. i tried it and got chemical burn, completely broke me out and make my skin more sensitive to everything, i used to be able to use estee lauder double wear and now even that breaks me out. ive tried all the vitamins everyone has recommended, i tried clinique, stirvectin, hydrolic acid, now im on cerave the light blue bottle face wash, i tone put the hydrolic serum and face moisturizer im so close to giving up, my face just looks horrible now i have alot of scarring, still bumpy and red. its embarrassing, any recommendations welcomed!!

@Sandra Rivera having a good skin care regimen is always important. Making sure you cleanse and moisturize every morning and cleansing and toning every night as well. I’m using DermAware products right now for my whole skin care regimen. Has the dermatologist ever recommended chemical peels?

I normally don't wear makeup everyday but sometimes I wear it for special occasions. Everytime I put last night foundation, my skin gets dry and the foundation starts breaking apart. How do I not let this happen so I can start to wear makeup more often? I use Too Faced foundation if that helps with the problem.

So if you want great makeup, you need to have a skin care routine set by that I mean... cleanser, moisturizer, eye cream, or cleanser, toner, moisturizer, or cleanser, exfoliation, moisturizer... Then when you do your skin care you need to apply primer, then foundation (always going downwards... start from forehead and down, you want to brush your facial hair.. yeah I know that sounds weird but everyone has little bits of hair in their face you always want to brush down or blend down so it doesn’t look patchy), after that conceal, bronze, contour, blush, highlight, setting spray. I’m a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant so if you have any questions let me know.

I have oily combination skin and am in need of a long wear foundation. Currently using Clinique stay matte and it just looks cakey to me and doesn’t last well. Opinions on any high end foundations for oily skin? Thinking about trying out Chanel.

I need a good hydrating, full coverage concealer. I’ve been using the tarte 16 hour wear, although it is hydrating, it isn’t giving me the coverage that I want. I have dry, very sensitive, and acne prone skin. I have tried other concealers such as maybelline, but it still gives my skin that dry patchy look even though I have a heavy moisturizer on. I would like to be able to have it match my skin tone since I don’t wear makeup as much. I need some recommendations!!

I use “clean” makeup and my favorite concealer is the w3ll people concealer. My favorite powder foundation is the Jane Iredell. I use it as a setting powder over the Juice beauty cc cream.

I feel that primers are alway a good idea to use, they help your makeup last longer and they also help the makeup not to sink into your skin which can result in clogged pores.

i have really red skin on my cheeks and especially towards the bottom of my face. it’s pretty dry-normal type as well, but i don’t wanna wear such heavy foundation this summer. so does anyone have 1. tips on keeping the redness down 2. recommendations on bb creams that will be light but enough to cover the redness?

i’m the same way, my skin gets pretty red around my cheeks/ lower face. i like to use the Hey Honey: Trick & Treat CC Cream. it’s made to cover redness/rosacea & discoloration problems. i really like this product because it’s lightweight and actually covers most of my redness. it’s also great for this time of year (summer) because it’s so lightweight and hydrating without feeling oily or greasy. i love it.

I’m looking for a good foundation. I have dry skin that gets oilier as the day goes on. I don’t wear makeup during the week so it’s mostly just for going out on the weekend. I don’t mind spending a little more since it lasts me longer. I’m using Kat Von D foundation right now, but it doesn’t leave a smooth and poreless matte finish like I’m looking for and ends up looking kind of cakey. Desperately need recommendations!

Lancôme Teinte Idole Ultra Stay foundation. I have the same skin and it is amazing. Doesn’t crease around the nose area like other foundations. Matte finish. This picture was taken around 11:00 am. Foundation was applied around 5:30 am.

Make sure you prep the skin well before applying foundation, especially a mattifying foundation. Moisturize with a moisturizer that absorbs well into the skin, not leaving you feeling greasy! Like Drunk Elephant Protini. Allow the moisturizer to fully absorb. Follow up with a hydrating primer like the Smashbox Primerizer. You can even put a silicone base primer over top of that! After putting your foundation and powder, finish with a hydrating setting spray like UD Chill Hydrating Setting Spray or even just a hydrating spray like Mario Bedescu’s Rose and Aloe Spray! Hope that helps! *Last Pro Tip: Mix foundation into moisturizer and apply like normal. <— this has always worked for me and actually helps the foundation last longer!* Let me know how it goes :)

@Noelia Swervoo yes girl, anytime! I hope this will help you out. Feel free to follow up with me :] I’m here to help! And like one of the other commenters said, exfoliation helps a lot too, a combo of chemical (acid peel) and physical (think like a scrub!) I tagged a good starter kit from Philosophy. Once you get to know your skin you an try stronger formulas.

Looking for the best primer to wear under Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation. I get shiny on my forehead and chin by end of day

I am a primer loving fiend; however, I feel the Estée Lauder double wear does not need a primer. It honestly performs well on its own, BUT if you’re dead set on a primer look for one that’s water based more than silicone based. ELDW is a water-based foundation, so using a silicone primer is like putting oil in water. The products are not compatible and can cause separation and patchiness throughout the day. I got the hangover RX on sale at Sephora and it pairs well with the ELDW since it is a very matte foundation. I’m extremely oily, but when oily skin is overly mattified and dehydrated it can actually cause more sebum/oil production. The hangover primer actually works great with it!

#beginner Hello friends. I am terrible at makeup, but I’m trying to get a little better. I’m looking into purchasing a solid little eyeshadow palette for brown eyes. Something with very NATURAL colors that I can wear day to day. Idk if anyone is actually gonna answer, but if anyone has something to recommend, let me know :) thanks bye

My skin becomes oily when I wear makeup, do you think this foundation would be a good option for a non-matte look for oily skin? I have all matte foundations but I am looking for one that is not and I really like bareMinerals so I want to try this product. Also, when used, which brush works best?

I work at a Bare Minerals store and I do recommend this product for oily skin! I would use it with a mineral veil/ finishing mineral powder over it! Also, I just use a beauty blender when I apply this.
