Well for budget friendly brushes, Wet n’ Wild makes pretty good brushes. They’re about a dollar a piece and they’re all synthetic, cruelty free, and vegan if that’s a concern. The next price up would be morphe brushes, and they’ve got a huge selection so that you can choose what you’re going for in application. They make my favorite reusable sponges too! They run from about a dollar to sixteen per brush, and they have sets for eyes or face or both. They are cruelty free, but some of the brushes are animal hair and therefore aren’t vegan. There’s also IT brushes that are very luxurious, and they’re cruelty free. Too faced teddy bear hair brushes are cruelty free and vegan and they’re super soft, but they do come in a set. For foundations it really depends on your skin type, but satin finishes are middle of the road and easy to make work for any type unless they’re on the extreme send of the spectrum. Too faced born this way, Mac Pro long wear, naked skin by urban decay, and lancome teint idole are all amazing satin finishes.

I use the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation and I really want to upgrade it to something better because it creases so bad and makes my skin look.. bleh 😖. Y’know?? I would like to find a foundation that is cheap yet has some decent quality to it. That is smooth and doesn’t crease so terribly ✨ I will greatly appreciate any other cheap brand recommendation 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️

this is my absolute favorite drugstore foundation!! I love to wear it because it lasts for so long and doesn’t look cakey on my skin nor does it crease on my smile lines. I have combination skin and if i feel dry in one area i use my moisturizer before and it doesn’t make me look so dry! i really recommend this product!

My best friend uses it and she loves it! Fair warning- it smells really strongly like paint thinner but it doesn’t make her break out, it covers really well, and it has a really natural finish

For a drugstore option you can go with ELF or Real Techniques. Elf isn’t spoken about much, but I’ve used their brushes before and they work and perform really well for the price.

OILY PRO ACNE SKIN Hello, I don’t know to much about make up. Can you recommend me products for my oily pro acne skin? Like foundation, eyeliner, blush, bronzer and makeup brush? Thanks in advance. @@

The first thing would be a good moisturizer, I love the Garnier SkinActive Gel Moisturizer for combo skin. Next would be a good primer. For oily skin, it’s usually a good idea to get a mattifying one, I really love the Cover FX Mattifying Primer with Anti-Acne Treatment or Essence also had a good mattifying primer with black clay. For foundation, I love the L’Oreal Fresh Wear 24hr Foundation. Good concealers are Maybelline Instant Age Rewind, Maybelline Fit Me, or Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer. Next is a setting powder, especially for oily skin, it’s better to set your makeup, my favorites are the Coty Airspun loose powder and the Maybelline Fit Me loose powder. Physicians Formula butter bronzers and blushes are awesome. I always use bronzers, blushes and highlighters as eyeshadows too. Personally, I usually use eyeshadows as eyeliner, but the Nyx Slide On Glide On pencils are good. As for brushes, I usually use a Real Techniques makeup sponge to apply foundation and concealer. All of my brushes are either Real Techniques or Morphe, those are two of the best brands for brushes. You could also try looking at some YouTube videos for makeup essentials/starter kit. Hope this helps!

Morphe brushes are okay! The white brissels fall out and are rough but the black ones are great! But bh cosmetics has a lot more sets at a better price and are better :) ♥️

What #mascara isn’t too wet? I feel like the mascaras at the drug store are too wet and can easily transfer to my lids. I used to use Maybelline but now I use No7, which a bit better but still runny. I thought about splurging and getting a high end mascara. What do guys think, do all maracas have the same wetness to it?

Anyone else had the struggle of your face breaking out after starting to use a Clarisonic brush (or face brush in general)??
Profile picture of Katia Ortiz

CombinationCombination Skin
The Clarisonic brush is very harsh on the skin as most mechanical exfoliates are. Using brushes like the Clarisonic brush may push the contents of clogged pores deeper into the skin. Try a chemical exfoliant, common ones are alpha hydroxy acid, salicylic acid, and glycolic acid. Chemical exfoliants are used to dissolve dead skin cells. This may be helpful for acne prone skin as dead skin cells are sometimes the source of clogged pores.
