Bio Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera - what’s the best for acne scars and texture?

The cucumber gel mask from Peter Thomas Roth contains brightening substances and provides great hydration as well. Using pure aloe on your skin will more than likely irritate it, (because of the plants concentration) so I recommend trying something out that contains aloe Vera but also has brightening properties!

Recommendations PLEASE! Can people recommend some good drugstore skincare for combination skin?! I have oily t-zone and dry cheeks and neck. And I have mild acne, and I try everything! Witch hazel, aloe Vera, etc. I also have very bad scarring on my cheeks.

Shea moisture has a bunch of really good skincare with great ingredients and a newer brand called Your Good Skin has some products that feel lovely on the face. I know u want drugstore but if u could get a small Clinique 3-step treatment pack (they often go on sale for even $10 at Ulta) It works FAST as far as acne and hyperpigmentation. It also includes the dramatically different moisturizer which someone also mentioned I see and I totally agree 😍

Ok so I’m a student and I like to wear a minimal amount of makeup (mascara, concealer, highlight, and brows) that isn’t too heavy. I’ve been searching for the right products for a long while now and I can’t seem to find anything. You see, I’m not very talented when it comes to makeup, and I do t exactly know what to do. Like with my brows, how????? I’ve been using gel and I just can’t seem to get it right. My concealer just does not do the job when concealing my under eye bags, but in all fairness they’re very prominent and dark. I should also mention I’m allergic to anything with aloe vera in it. So I’m pretty picky with what I wear out of the house. I’d really appreciate some recommendations or advice! :)

Has anyone used real aloe vera plant on their face? I have very dry skin from accutane plus the winter weather has me so unbearably dry 😭😭

yes!! i tried it as a makeup base (since once it's dry it's a little sticky) and that didn't go well lol but then i tried again as a moisturizer at night and it worked really well for me! i used it at night before bed and i woke up with moisturized, plump skin. the way i did it was by cutting the aloe plant in half and then literally just rubbing one of the cut halves on my face

@Lina Fernannda Martinez I tried it last night with a bit of moisturizer on top and I agree! I didn’t wash my face with cleanser in the morning or reapply the aloe vera and my skin was glowing so much already I’m excited to keep going with this :))

If you can get to an Ulta. Dermalogica has something called calm water gel. I’ve used it on a client that was sunburned and blisters and it really helped they also have a spray that is great. Apply both to the area and use the spray throughout the day.

What I’ve learned working for a Derm... So Im an RMA/CMA working for a dermatologic/plastic surgeon. I’ve learned a lot these past few months and then came across this platform. I get a lot of patients who come in having reactions to all kinds products people are told are good for your skin by word of mouth. People get mad when we tell them to throw all they know out the window. Truth be told the more bland the better. Theres not magic cream out there, but everyone is different so some things may or may not work for you. What i do want to point out is that a lot of products do more harm then good. For example, things like witch hazel i love but have stopped using because its sooooooo drying and can irritate the skin and not actually “tone” it. Another thing is SPF. Big makeup companies will sell you the most expensive one they have, but if it doesn’t contain zinc oxide or titanium dioxide it don’t work! So throw that olay away. I can go on and on about what we recommend you do and don’t do, and always feel free to ask but to close this out...Basically you need brands like cetaphil or cerave. We find that MOST, not all, people aren’t sensitive to these brands. Really the key to good skin is wash, KEEP MOISTURIZED, and SPF**** however i will say, i like aloe vera and what it has done for my skin and i don’t find it does any harm unless you develop or have an allergy.... and yes, you can develop an allergy to things you have used all your life just fyi. But in the end its good to have a nice solid routine. Play around with affordable brands and see what your skin likes. And if you’ve got acne you cant get under control i HIGHLY recommend seeing a derm so they can help you find a routine to use in combo with any Rx. please take your time finding a good derm, not just a spa that wants to sell you a facial and their products. :)

my Aloe Vera plant doesn’t grow that well enough for a routine use, would Aloe Vera gel do well too? I’m looking for something to help even out my skin and get rid of dark spots and acne scars

AMAZING SKINCARE ROUTINE FOR SENSITIVE SKIN/REDNESS! 1: cleanse with dr bronners citrus orange soap MIXED with The Body Shop’s tea tree oil clearing facial wash. I get a little travel size plastic bottle and mix the two. I do this day and night for best results!! 2: use Witch Hazel on a cotton ball all over your face 3: after that’s dried a little use a small amount of aloe Vera all over. This helps with redness and soothes the skin amazingly!!! 4: for the moisturizer I use Vitamin E Oil all over. Can put on a cotton ball. BEEN DOING THIS FOR ALMOST A MONTH, ACNE HAS CLEARED, DARK SPOTS FADED, AND REDNESS REDUCED SIGNIFICANTLY. SKIN IS LESS OILY OR DRY. !!USING VITAMIN E OIL WILL NOT MAKE OILER SKIN OILY! YOUR BODY MAKES YOUR SKIN PRODUCE MORE OIL WHEN YOURE LACKING IT!!! (BETTER DIET MAKES A DIFFERENCE TOO) #redness #acne #darkspots #acnescars #sensitiveskin
