heavy

it did help my lip color stay on longer, but by the time i applied my liner and lipstick, it almost felt like it was caked on

as a primer, i didn't notice it doing much but it did go on pretty chunky and my lipstick just felt strange over top of it

LOVE IT

I absolutely love this product! I had the ozone lip liner as a sample from my Ipsy bag, and I fell in love. When this came out I was so excited to be able to have something that would cover my whole lip! I'm not big into products that take a long time to learn how to use or that don't have a practical, everyday use. This is amazing though! It holds lip color extremely well and glides on super smoothly. I love that my lips felt hydrated the whole time I had it on also. My skin is extremely sensitive, and Urban Decay has been one of the only brands I have been able to use, especially for lip products (I am allergic to chapstick). This product is amazing. I just wish it came in a bigger size!

Good clear lip liner, fantastic makeup eraser!

I bought this when I nabbed the Gwen Stefani blush palette to hit the $50 mark for free shipping and I was pleasantly surprised by this nifty little pencil. I love clear lip liner for brighter lip colors so I don't have to buy every lip liner color under the sun for my massive lippie collection and this pencil is perfect for that. What wowed me is its recommended use for removing makeup mistakes and smudges. With watery, hooded lids, I consistently get eyeshadow and eyeliner transfer and smudges no matter how careful I am. This gem literally erases these and moisturizes my under eyes at the same time! No more dipping a cotton swab into makeup remover to try to erase mistakes and then be left with cleanser residue or over-applying concealer to try to cover them and winding up with cakey buildup in my fine lines. It cleans up so easily and I swear, it seems to fill in some of those fine lines as well. The only complaints I could see people having is that it's not moisturizing enough as a lip primer and you have to sharpen it. But since I use a lip balm with sunscreen as primer and actually prefer pencils I need to sharpen over twist ups, those aren't negatives for me.

a new staple

I have very full lips that are prone to dryness and this product has been the perfect foundation for all of my lip products so far. It prevents my matte lip products from drying out my lips, creates a smooth neutral base , and minimizes the appearance of lines for a flawless lipstick/ lip color application. I apply a moisturizing lip balm before this lip crayon and my lips stay hydrated for hours as it helps to further seal in the moisture. It also allows my lip colors to truly pop! I've tried a lot of products and this one is my favorite so far. Thanks to this lip crayon my lip colors will pretty much last almost all day while I'm at work. This is clutch because I'm too lazy to reapply make up during the day haha. I would definitely recommend.

Not worth the money

For my photo, I chose a lipstick I knew would feather without primer or liner. (I'm not wearing a liner in the photo.) The Urban Decay side's lookin' a bit feathery compared to the MAC side. And that was just 30 minutes after application; the feathering on that side looked worse an hour later. Kinda defeats the purpose of using a lip primer. The Urban Decay primer is VERY soft and easy to break. The first time I used it to line my lips, the whole tip broke off and I had to fully sharpen it. You need a very light hand-apply almost no pressure-when using this pencil. You also need to be very careful with the pencil in general while the cap's off. Don't set it down on a counter/table uncapped, lest it roll and bump into something that smushes a chunk out of the tip. Don't accidentally bump the tip against anything. Yesterday I accidentally shaved a chunk off the tip because I angled the cap wrong while hastily putting it on the pencil. Also, you'll waste a lot of product while sharpening, unless you save the shaved-off primer to apply later with cotton swabs. At least the pencil fits the NARS sharpener, if you have that instead of Urban Decay's sharpener. On a positive note, the Urban Decay primer does feel nice on my lips. It's very lightweight and moderately moisturizing. The MAC primer feels slightly heavier in a rich creamy way, which I prefer. But under most drying liquid mattes, both primers save my lips from utter despair. For instance, the Urban Decay primer kept my lips from shriveling under my Ofra liquid matte-but so does the MAC primer. The MAC primer is better at keeping the Ofra color (Bondi Beach) evenly on my lips. And it's $1 cheaper than the Urban Decay primer, so... guess which primer I won't buy again.

locks and stays

being an older woman, I do have those fine lines. I have had issues with certain liners and lipsticks feathering slightly. This has corrected this issue and I can now wear those products that were just sitting around. Truly amazing. I apply it around my lip line and slightly above as well as a little on my lips to help lipstick stay in place and last longer. I usually apply it after my foundation so it can set a few minutes prior to lipstick application. No taste, no smell and is now a staple in my everyday makeup wear. Although I do not have an issue with dry or chapped lips, this does not dry out my lips in any way.
