New Favorite

I was so hesitant because it seemed so anti everything I've ever known about foundation application and order of make-up operations, but.... USED AS A MIXER: It works, without a doubt. I find that it tends to lighten the foundation just a tiny bit (which isn't always a bad thing), but it does provide all of its claims and more. I find that when I mix it in my foundation, the foundation itself goes a lot further because of the mousse like texture that it takes on after mixing with the powder. It will provide a more matte coverage and has excellent staying power. USED AS SETTING POWDER: I cannot tell you how much I love this as a setting powder. I use it far more as a setting powder than I do mixing it in my foundation. It gives the most beautiful, porcelain, flawless look to the skin. I do NOT dust it all over like most setting powders. I take a small powder puff/sponge (I like the BH cosmetics ones) and I PRESS it all over my face, with the exception of under my eyes. It is a little too drying for the under eye area, especially if your skin is at all dry under your eyes or if you have more mature skin. This has been my go to for setting and I get compliments like crazy!! I highly recommend this powder to anyone, but especially if your looking to mattify a particular foundation that you love (or want to love) that is a little too dewy for you. It works well with anything (NOT just UD foundations), but again I most highly recommend this for setting your face and touching up!

Best setting powder

I was very curious about this product when it first came out. I sampled it and hated it mixed in with my foundation. It made the texture of my foundation weird n hard to blend. So I tossed whatever I had left over from my sample. I was watching YouTube and came across reviewers that used it as a setting powder. They all loved it! So I went back to Sephora to get another sample. Used it as a setting powder n loved it as well! I have true combo skin with dry patches and oily tzone as well as my temples. My skin looked smooth not at all cakey. Even looked better throughout the day. The day I used it was a very hot n humid day in Hawaii. My makeup stayed on and looked great without touch up for about 8hrs. Only then I looked like I needed to blot slightly, when usually after about 2-3 hr I would need to blot prior using this product. Only down part is by the time I feel in love with it all the stores on island and online has sold out! As for my skin tone I'm tan, I don't have a problem with the color. Can't wait for it to b back in stock.

If you have normal/dry to dry skin this is not for you, I'll say that right out the gate. If you have oily skin, or use on oily T-zone, this will work as described. Works best in velvet matte &matte (for me at least). But still performs good with dewy foundations. Makes sheer/medium coverage foundation FULL COVERAGE! It is not intended for baking, I'm guessing that's why so many complained about flashback. Just use a powder brush and pack it in to skin. I get cakey under my eyes real easy w/ most powders due to bags/wrinkles but this is so smooth and hides most of my imperfections. I have really bad acne scars/"pockmarks" and big pores so I tried it as a primer b/c I read some ppl tried that, and it works!! Just know your skin and what will work for you. Not every product is for every person. I personally love this. It is a staple in my makeup routine now. Will buy as long as they sell! Less

This review is for my medium to tan to deep skin tones.I purchased the Urban Decay The Velvetizer Translucent Mix-in Medium because I am the type of girl who likes to buy different products from different brands and try them. I use the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation in Valencia and Syracuse (mix as needed) and it wasn’t as MATTE as I would like. It was starting to become more summery out and I wasn’t interested in dewy foundations when I sweat up a storm in Florida. Let me start by saying, I use products with absolutely no SPF because I found out it breaks me out like no tomorrow. I have no flash back what-so-ever using any of my makeup products. With that being said, I mixed a DIME (placed near it for measuring purposes) and mixed in with my foundation. Now, I know that this product lists to be mixed with Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup but how can a brand specially formulate a product to only work with their products (if that makes sense) so I went ahead and gave it a shot. I HAD THE WORST MAKEUP DAY OF MY LIFE! I used it out on a date with my boyfriend and he thought I didn’t feel good all night by how much it lightened my face. I took absolutely no pictures that night, which was a bummer because it was beautiful out. It started to break apart within 2 hours of wear INDOORS, and it made my foundation patchy so you had to apply more to ‘even it out.’ It also settled into every fine line I didn’t even know I had (being only 19, I don’t have much believe me.) My boyfriend even said to me to get my money back because I did not look as good as I would not using it. With that being said, I returned to my local Sephora that next day after work and got my money back. I have attached a photo of it blended on the back of my hand - WITH FLASH ON. « less

OMG! This is some sort of voodoo magic that transforms your makeup game! I have normal to dry skin, so I don't usually go for mattifying products and was skeptical about this- I purchased it just out of curiosity because it is a unique concept, thinking I could return it if it doesn't work-- BUT , I am NEVER parting with this! I mixed it with my Nars Pure Radiant tinted moisturizer and omg it just became this silky, velvet-y cream which suddenly had almost full coverage! And the finish is just pure brilliance! My skin looks so smooth and flawless- and mind you, my skin is pretty flawed! It doesn't make me my skin dry or dewy. Its literally velvet! And I also use it to set my under-eye concealer and it looks like satin. I ma NOT exaggerating! Get this NOW!!

I use Urban Decay’s Velvetizer as an all over face powder and it’s awesome! I don’t use it as a mixing medium. It can darken your foundation just a tad,
