this product is so hydrating and creates a perfect smooth base for my foundation and works great with my primers my skin has never been better i've only had this product for 2 week

- Sephora User

it makes my skin feel sooooo soft, makes every foundation look and wear beautifully (even the ones i don't like,) feels lightweight, absorbs quickly, gives me enough hydration to keep my oils at bay, and even replaces primer, which for my oily skin is normally unheard of

- Ulta User

this applies very smoothly, is very light weight and you don't need a lot

Optimal all-in-one skin prep for everyday

I bought this after reading a rave review on a beauty magazine's site and knew I had to try it. I have oily, acne-prone skin and I wear makeup for work every day - this gel covered all of my bases. It moisturizes but not to the point where I'm looking like a greaseball, it kind of melts as you rub it into the skin and then sinks into pores, and leaves it with a matte-but-somehow-still-glowy finish. Also, just the experience of applying this stuff is so weirdly satisfying because of its unique texture, and I love it. Will repurchase over and over again. My only complaint is that the paint/ink(?) around the container rubs off with very minimal wear and tear, which is a shame because the package design is so beautiful.

I hope UD never discontinues this!

I have struggled with acne and rosacea for over a decade now. I've tried so many moisturizers and skin care products (probably in the hundreds) over the years and they would work for a day or two and then bam! A terrible flare-up of acne or rosacea, or both, would hit and it was back to square one. I had given up completely for a few years because I was so tired of wasting my money and dealing with embarrassing flare-ups. But a few months ago I read about this product on UD's site and was completely intrigued and decided to try it. WOW!! What a game changer for me. Both my rosacea and acne cleared up and I've had almost no flare-ups since I started using it.My skin has not looked this healthy since I was a kid! It even made deep wrinkles on my forehead and around my eyes almost completely disappear after a month of daily use. I've already repurchased three more containers because I'm so afraid they'll discontinue it. It feels so good on my skin and I love that it has no colours and almost no fragrance. It's not for everyone, but if you're struggling with highly-sensitive skin and conditions that were worsened by other skin care products, you may want to give this gel a try. « less

love it!

I love this product. I went in to Ulta looking for a gel like moisturizer because I have very oily skin and my cream moisturizer wasn't doing me justice. I came across this and fell in love immediately. It looks like gel but turns to water when you rub it on your skin. It absorbs quickly and isn't oily at all! It also made my skin feel so incredibly soft after. I use this product every day morning and night. If you have dry skin you would still probably love this as added moisturizer but I wouldn't recommend replacing your moisturizer with this because I simply don't think it would be enough. But for my oily skin it is perfect!

Not For Dry Skin

Bought this hoping to use it for both daily wear and under my makeup, unfortunately the gel is not as moisturizing for someone like me who has normal to dry skin. The upside however is that the gel does help with deterring acne. I would recommend the rehab makeup prep for those with oily type skin.

1 Star with good, researched reasons

I love UD. That eyeshadow formula puts me on a joyful high. A lot of their products have that affect on me. Nevertheless, I want to walk you through my thought process for this review. I'll try to keep it short and not go into all of my concerns. Alright, then. I'm coming from a place of me keeping in mind that your skin absolutely absorbs what you put on it. I almost always study the ingredients in a skincare product before purchasing/using, but I used this (it was free) without paying the attention that I (actually all of us should) normally do. Anyway, I had an experience that made me look further into ingredients, here are my thoughts: This may or may not interest you, but my hope is that it does. There are concerns, that rate low, but are not too far away from moderate, of PEG-10/15 Crosspolymer causing organ system toxicity. Ironically enough, PEGs can reduce the skin's moisture levels and speed up skin aging. When it comes to Phenoxyethanol, the FDA warned that phenoxyethanol can cause shut down of the central nervous system, vomiting and contact dermatitis. Butylene Glycol is petroleum-derived. I encourage you to educate yourself on the dangers of petroleum in skincare products. Anyway, side effects could be depression, drowsiness, skin irritation, dermatitis and hives. It is found in so many personal care products that it is difficult to keep track of how much a person is exposed – how much is absorbed. Tocopherol. Although it rates low, there is a healthcare concern for cancer. Dimethicone. Moderate concerns: Organ system toxicity. Other low concerns: Ecotoxicology, meaning harmful to the environment. Please, research silicones in skincare products. If you're still with me, I'll close with by saying that I am sensitive to many ingredients that aren't organic. I'm thankful for that. I do believe most of us are sensitive to many ingredients in skincare products, but we ignore them. My hope for this review is that it ignites thought for what your putting on and absorbing into your skin. Then, think about how often you use it, because that's how often you're absorbing it. For these reasons, and UD being a company who can do better because of the amount of money they have, I'm giving it 1 star, even though this is one of their cheaper products. Also, excuse any typos, I'm using my thumbs.
