color correction

color correcting

i really love the packaging and this is a good palette for beginners to try cream contouring and color correcting

- Ulta User

i would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for light to medium coverage and just needs natural looking mild color correction and tone evening

- Sephora User

layering

buildable

it gives medium coverage that is buildable and definitely blurs my hyperpigmentation and acne scars so that my forehead actually looks smooth and even

- Ulta User

it wears really light and while it provides enough coverage to hide any blemishes (it's buildable), you can still see actual skin but more luminous that looks natural enough

- Sephora User

brightness

brightening

this foundation is lightweight, buildable, and beautiful (i am constantly getting compliments on my skin stating that i look youthful, fresh and radiant skin

pore minimizing

pore minimizing

how it sits on their skin without feeling like they're 'smothered', and how it looks flawless and hides redness and dramatically reduces pores

weight

lightweight

this foundation feels light on my skin, it allows my freckles and natural skin to shine through while evening out my skin tone and making it look and feel like i'm not even wearing foundation at all

- Sephora User

it goes on incredibly lightweight, doesn't clog my pores, and comes off easily when washing

this foundation is beautiful and lasts all day and i barely get oily

i bought this after trying a sample and i love it, my skin looks amazing it covers blemishes and lasts all day

quality

good quality

this palette includes such great quality powders and creams

- Sephora User

it is expensive for a low quality brand of make up, and cheap for an expensive brand - but the quality is really good

- Debenhams User

blendability

blends well

it goes on smoothly, blends perfectly, feels like i'm not wearing anything, provides great coverage and makes me skin look like it's absolutely glowing

- Ulta User

i absolutely love how well this foundation blends, and how it provides perfect, full coverage while living up to its name and feeling like just naked skin

- Ulta User

mattifying

mattifying

i can't really speak to its effectiveness of mattifying as since discontinuing my dose of acutane, my skin has been ever so oily and i require a good primer and setting powder to keep my makeup as matte as possible for however many hours i can (which is usually no more than 3hrs before i need to begin blotting every hour or two - my skin really is that bad and powder foundations are no where near as effective in evening-out my skin without caking :/ )

- Sephora User

i use it with my benefit porefessional and my mufe hd translucent powder and it works like a dream, but honestly, it's very mattifying and you could probably go without powder for a more natural look (coming from someone who gets very oily in the t-zone

- Sephora User

creasing

not creasing

this foundation is light, it's brightening, my pores look like they're barely there, it doesn't collect in the creases below my eyes, it's ridiculously easy to put on (with the optical blurring brush), it doesn't end up collecting around my eyebrows or hair line, it blends perfectly, application is super quick, it feels nice on the skin, it stays put through the day - including work, my skin doesn't look as shiny as it would with anything else that felt this moisturising

- Urbandecay User

it feels silky smooth, lasts all day, doesn’t look or feel heavy, and doesn’t settle into fine lines

- Sephora User

color accuracy

doesn't oxidize

this truly is lightweight and does not change color during the day like most liquid makeup i had tested

- Sephora User

this foundation lasts impeccably on me for a good 4 hours and does not oxidize

- Sephora User

texture

smooth

this foundation has a wonderful creamy texture that manages to be substantial, but not heavy, and provides buildable coverage without being cakey or mask-like

- Sephora User

i love how it smooths out my skin because i have alot of pigmentation and scarring from acne

- Sephora User

hydration

hydrating

- i prefer full-coverage and a velvety-finish, and this product delivers that because it is buildable and dries to a nice finish - soft focus and not too matte

- Sephora User

and best of all, the dry patches never show through and coverage lasts all day ( when i apply the ud all nighter setting spray) but i am just in love with the whole naked line

- Debenhams User

finish

demi-matte

it really lasts all day, the demi-matte finish is amazing and you really feel like you have nothing on, yet look flawless

- Sephora User

on a serious level this keeps me semi matte considering it is a natural finish, it also stays all day

- Sephora User

coverage

medium coverage

i would highly recommend it if you are looking for light-medium coverage with a natural look, definitely not a full coverage foundation

- Sephora User

this foundation is perfect for girls and guys who like medium coverage

Excellent Light Coverage, Blendable, Skin-Friendly!

By the star rating, it's obvious I love this foundation. I am so happy UD has made face makeup with cool-toned shades, and I love the light feeling and beneficial ingredients. It does a great job of evening out my skin tone, and while the coverage is light and it only wears about six hours total, it's perfect for someone like me who wants to wear something every day, but not something that is going to stress my skin or gunk up my pores. It truly is Naked coverage.I am very pale, cool toned, and have sensitive skin that is oily in the t-zone, but easily stressed and prone to drying out if I am not kind to it. Most foundation stresses my skin, so I don't wear it too often. I feel like with Naked Skin, I could wear it every day because I am not taking anything away to have this on my face.Texture and ApplicationThis is a very thin, almost watery foundation, and you need to shake the bottle (with an audible ball-bearing sound) to mix it up. The consistency is thin and very slippery. I found the best application was with my synthetic, round, buffing brush (similar to the one UD sells), then finishing by patting it into my skin with my fingers. I did try just using fingers, but I felt I was using too much product and pulling at my skin too much to get it to do what I wanted. The brush distributed it so evenly, and I ended up using a dime-sized amount for my entire face.FinishThis is a matte finish that reflects light well, for a smooth and glowy appearance. It blends nicely around the nose (always a gotcha) and into the hairline. It went on feeling slightly heavy and moist, but settled after about 20 minutes to a light, airy feel that was (as advertised) completely weightless. The trick is to apply it thinly for best feel.CoverageThe coverage is light, but it does a good job of evening skin tone. It's like a step above tinted moisturizer, which can be too sheer sometimes. I have a lot of redness in my cheeks (I flush easily) and it does a good job of evening that out so the unwanted redness is gone, and it leaves behind a pleasing rosy glow around the apples of my cheeks. It handles minor dry spots well, but won't stand up to severe dryness without some sort of moisturizer underneath or conditioning liquid on top.Buildablility and WearabilityThis foundation blends too well for you to really double up on pigmentation (it will blend with what you previously laid down), but you will get a little more coverage if you layer it more than once. However, layering does ruin the light and airy feel - it will feel heavier where it was layered. I got about 6 hours of wear during a normal workday before I noticed oily breakthrough on my nose and fading around the sides of my face. Out of curiosity, I also left this on for a workout, and although I was sweating profusely and it came off as I did, it didn't sting at all as it mixed with the sweat, and did not streak or ball up. Nice!SmellIt is fragrance-free, but with no harsh chemical smell. The smell is mostly neutral, with a slightly chemical undertone that smells (to me) like juniper leaves when you first apply it. The smell quickly disappates as it hits the air and/or absorbs into skin.No SPF?!It works for me, since I basically ignore the SPF in foundations, anyway. I am photosensitive and can't afford to take chances, so I always wear my own. I found that Naked Skin played well with my SPF.PackagingAnother win for Urban Decay - the packaging is sleek and glowing, exactly what I expect this product to do for my skin. The lid comes off, and underneath is a pump that does a good job delivering just the amount of product you want to use, based on how much pressure you apply. (Thank you, UD -- I so hate when the pump doesn't allow control!) The lid fits securely enough that I would be happy to put this in a purse or travel bag without worrying that it will come open and make a mess.IngredientsNaked Skin has conditioners, silicones for slip and protection, even proteins (peptides) and Hyaluronate to nourish and hydrate. The extras, such as Vitamins E and C, help repair skin, and are in high enough concentrations that they would actually do some good. Of all the foundations on my makeup table right now, this is the one I feel best about using on a daily basis due to the skin-friendly ingredients.Overall, I would recommend this for anyone who is happy with light coverage, but wants a step above the sheerness of tinted moisturizer, and is OK with fading after about six hours. If you need long-wearing and/or full coverage, look elsewhere, but this is great for every day wear, and especially appropriate for work situations that require a polished look without obvious makeup. It is also a gorgeous matte finish that will look like your own skin and make people wonder what you have changed in your diet or lifestyle recently that is making your skin look so good. « less

I never need any other foundation- EVER!

I friggin' love this stuff. I've got to be honest, I don't have a bunch of experience with other liquid foundations, so I can't speak from an place where I've tried a billion of them and landed on this one. I have, though, tried what seems like a billion types and brands of foundations- mineral powders, pressed powders, cream to powders, tinted moisturizer. Almost everything, but never liquid because I thought it was just too difficult to apply and deal with. How many pumps do I use? What kind of brush do I apply it with? How do I set it? Is it going to work with any oil I might get throughout the day? Will it sting or make my skin break out? Will it stay tacky? I didn't know, I was scared, and I didn't want to be as high maintenance as I perceived liquid users to be!But boy am I glad I gave it a try. I practically stomped into my local chain makeup store- frustrated to no end with the very popular mineral makeup brand I was currently using. It gave me the "luminescence" that it advertised, and I hated it! The girl in the store brought me over to the Urban Decay section and showed me the relatively new line of liquid foundation. I don't know what made me take the plunge. I liked what she said I guess. I bought it and I can't imagine a reason I'd ever want to change.I am very fair skinned and use shade 1.0. I squirt four pumps into my palm, and apply it with a flat foundation brush all over my face. I like a full coverage look, but fewer pumps would do for a more natural, bare faced look. I would say it's a medium coverage makeup. Not full coverage like one pump would go a super long way, but also not light coverage where I'm frustrated with the amount of product I end up using. As the brush and makeup warm up from the rest of my face, I work it into my under-eyes. I am super satisfied with how it works under my eyes. I can't afford to buy UD's setting powder, or of course I would! I just use a drugstore translucent powder. It stays pretty matte all day. I might just need to re-up with a little more setting powder throughout the day to combat my own oiliness, but it's not a problem. Like everyone else says, it TRULY feels like you have nothing on all day long. Fabulous.I gave it 4 out of 5 for "Ease of Application" because the fact is that it just isn't as easy to apply as, say, a powder or allover BB cream or something like that. I mean, it's liquid! It's just a little more effort. Totally worth it considering the airbrushed, retouched finish it gives. Totally perfect skin with this stuff. I also gave "Ease of Use" 4 out of 5 because if you rub your face on anything, it WILL rub off. I've heard of liquid foundations out there that promise to have more staying power, and this one isn't really one of them. If you hug someone who has a white shirt on and aren't super cautious of rubbing your makeup on them, it will happen! But I think that's most LF's. One more thing that I have had problems with is that the bottle is pretty stupid. The product is encapsulated in an inner tube that can crack and leak out into the outer tube. This has happened to me once, and I had to complain up a storm to exchange it for another one. All the makeup gets lost between the two tubes and you'd have to break it all open to get valuable liquid. Not so awesome!Okay- here's one more confession. I usually sleep in whatever's left over on my face after a day of wearing this makeup. I am lazy and don't want to wash my face before I go to bed. I'm awful. BUT!!! The quality of my skin is fantastic even though I am in that bad habit. This product is vegan and treats my skin so well. I love it.I highly recommend this foundation! Again, I don't feel as though I ever need to look elsewhere for face makeup. I am so glad I found it! « less

I’ve gotten a lot of oh your not wearing foundation comments. I don’t like a heavy foundation personally and this isnt heavy at all. I also have really oily skin and this doesn’t feel like it’s melting off.

It's Perfect

I have incredibly oily skin and I've tried countless foundations (both high end and drugstore), and this is literally the only one that doesn't break down or melt off my face after a few hours, which alone is enough to make me love it. It's also very lightweight, feels like nothing on the skin, and looks incredibly natural, while still being able to give almost full coverage. Initially, because it is so thin and liquid-y, I was afraid that it might look streaky, but it actually blends into the skin flawlessly. It has a nice, matte finish that doesn't look flat or dull, but still manages to prevent any unwanted shine. Another thing I like about this foundation is that I don't need to use very much powder with it. With other foundations, I really have to cake on the powder just to keep my skin matte for thirty minutes, but with this, I can go for a light dusting and I don't need to powder again for about four hours. But even then, my skin isn't excessively oily. (One thing I would like to caution against is applying too much product then over powdering. I made this mistake when I first started using the foundation, and within two hours of applying, the foundation on my nose looked very odd. It's difficult to describe, but it appeared extremely dry and patchy, not like the foundation was breaking down from excess oil, but almost like it was cracking/peeling off. After that, I took care to not over apply the foundation or setting powder, and I haven't experienced that problem since. Another thing to mention is I occasionally get dry patches, and this foundation tends to emphasize those, although not as bad as some other foundations.) I find that a little bit of this goes a long way, and I can get a good, medium coverage with one full pump, but I don't think this foundation gives absolutely full coverage. It covers redness/uneven skin tone, smaller zits, and minor acne scars very well, but for dark circles or really large/obvious acne scars, I would suggest using a concealer. Also, I would like to point out that the more you layer it and build the coverage, the less natural it looks. I don't think it ever looks thick or cakey, but if you want flawlessly full coverage, you might be better off getting a foundation that's full coverage from the get-go. I also really like the packaging. First of all, it has a pump that's very easy to control. (If for some reason you only want a tiny drop of foundation, you can get only a tiny drop. There is no wasted product.) The bottle is also clear, so you can see how much product is left. And it's made of plastic, which, for me, is great because I know that it won't shatter if I drop it (and I have, multiple times, and it has yet to break). It's also just really sleek and compact and aesthetically pleasing. It does have quite a noticeable scent, though. It's not overwhelming and it doesn't linger around after the foundation has set (which is does quite quickly), and I actually love the smell, but I thought I would mention it just in case anybody is really picky about that sort of thing. Overall, I think this is an amazing foundation. I like it so much that if for some reason I could no longer use this, I would probably just stop wearing foundation all together. If you're thinking about buying it, I definitely think you should, or at least pick up a sample. It is expensive, but if you have the money and don't mind spending it, I really do think it's worth it. « less

Sorry, but a BIG thumbs down from me

I have heard a lot of people compare this foundation to various other foundations that I use and already love in my kit. After trying this out I'm not sure what all the hype is about. The shade range is poor considering how the majority of undertones that they cater to are warm undertones. Why is it that the only cool undertones in the lighter shades are the very palest or one that is slightly more medium? If you look at other brands you'll find that their biggest selling shades tend to be the cool toned shades in that area that Urban Decay neglected to include. The foundation does NOT look "Naked" as the name suggests. It sits on top of the skin no matter how much you blend it in and it is visible that you are in fact wearing a foundation. No manner of application works well, "Good Karma" brush? Fail. Paddle foundation brush? fail. Sponge? fail. Fingers? fail. The finish isn't "demi-matte", "natural" or "dewy" it's full one matte in a way that looks flat and unappealing even on the oiliest of skin types. After about 2 hours of wear it starts to get patchy on people with normal, combo-oily, and oily skin types. On dry skin'd clients it starts to look sallow after 2 or 3 hours of wear. You can't do a minimal application of the foundation on slight problem areas because it becomes obvious via the finish where the foundation ends and where the skin begins. Very unflattering and by far the worst foundation that I have ever tried, not even close to some of the other foundations on the market that it is being compared to. « less

So my foundation does something weird on me and I’ve tried several different types. About halfway through the day my nose starts to crack and peel, but just my nose. The rest of my foundation is fine. I’ve been exfoliating more on my nose in recent weeks to try to see if it’s just dry skin. any suggestions as to why it might do this or what I could do to stop it? So the Lock-it foundation I use for formal events, Or times where I know I’m going to need a full coverage to stay on for a really long time. And the naked skin, and the shape tape foundation’s are my every day. And I use shape tape concealer, Smashbox oil primer, and Laura Mercier for my powder.
