creasing

not creasing

the darker colours are especially great for the crease, to create a more dramatic and smoky look, and can also be blended into the lower lash line for an extra effect

- Beautyboutique User

like doing an eye with this for base, crease, and liner (over a 24/7 base), and inner lid highlight, and then hitting the lid with for example baked cowboy, or sin, or bordello

- Urbandecay User

staying power

longlasting

these neutral colors can be worn day or night and like ud eye shadows, they are long lasting and very pigmented

- Sephora User

it truly is so wearable and versatile and the colors might not be in your face pretty like naked2 but they are still beautiful, with great pigmentation and staying power and the colors go together like a dream

- Sephora User

blendability

blends well

goes on smoothly, pigmented, blends well and for the first time ever - a palette that i can wear every eyeshadow colour

- Lookfantastic User

this seemed like a great little palette to dip my toe into the waters, and i was totally right about that - really nice, neutral matte colors that blend beautifully

- Ulta User

fallout

does not have fallout

but with this palette, they glide on like butter and have zero fallout

- Ulta User

i’ve used other palettes by this brand before so i already knew i liked the formula, it’s easy to blend, good pigment, and barely any fall out if any

- Sephora User

consistency

creamy

this is a perfect blend of colors and the consistency is soft with full coverage

- Ulta User

i like ud shadows because of the smooth, almost creamy texture and saturated colors so i jumped at the chance to have this collection of neutral shades

- Ulta User

pigmentation

sheer

i repurchased this one again recently and i forgot just how perfect it is, it really has such a good selection of neutrals and because the colours are sheer and buildable it’s super easy to use if you’ve always struggled with eyeshadow like i have

Small but lovely

I have been debating buying this palette, because it is almost all matte and I have read reviews that complain the colors are too similar. Well I finally purchased and am sad I waited so long!!!!These shades are all smooth, creamy and blend quite easily. Matte eyeshadows are sometimes hard to get right, but Urban Decay really excelled with this palette.Venus is a nice white yellowish color that has a nice sheen to it. It is lovely for highlighting the browbone, as well as the inner corner of the eye.Foxy is actually my skin tone light and yellowish, it is smooth and is a nice lid color for me.Walk of shame is a nice smooth matte peach shade.Naked 2 is probably one of the smoothest most creamy, eyeshadows I have ever used in my life. It is a nice cool toned taupe that is a nice mix of brown and grey.Faint is a nice bark brown that is a bit on the warmer side. A very nice crease color or a dramatic lid color!Crave is a black eyeshadow that is pigmented but isn't the most hard of blacks, because of the brown in it. (my photo will help show this below) it is also great used in the lash line to darken and make lashes appear thicker!Overall this palette is great for my blue eyes and fair skin. I really think though that these shades would compliment every skin tone and eye color. These shades are creamy and smooth and are long lasting. The case is small and compact and travels well. The shadows are .05 which is quite generous for a palette. You can use one shade or use more for an eyeshadow look. Less

Love it!

I went in to buy this thinking that I wouldn't love it, and boy did Urban Decay prove me wrong. This was my first all matte eye shadow palette. I skipped the first Naked Basics because the colors were a little bit too yellow toned for me. When I bought this, I though the colors would blend into my skin too much and wouldn't show up. Well, that might have been the case with swatches, but on my eyes the colors showed up amazing. The eye shadows have the typical amazing Urban Decay quality. Creamy and smooth with absolutely no fall out. With these colors, I was able to put together a perfect smokey within 5 minutes. I used all of the colors and they blended in perfectly together. Even without eye shadow primer, the colors showed up amazingly pigmented and lasted all day. This palette is great for traveling. It is light and compact. The only other thing you would need is a brush. This is great for people that love the Naked palettes, but would like to stray away from all of the shimmer. This is also great for beginners, people that want Naked palettes but don't feel like paying the $50 price tag, and for people of all skin tones. In my opinion, this is a must buy! Less

Words cannot describe its perfection

Before I discovered UD, I used Tarte and Stila eyeshadows. Those are particularly sheer, hard to blend (only Stila is guilty of this), and not long-lasting. When I was gifted the Naked1 palette, it was kind of a major breakthrough. The shadows were sooo ridiculously pigmented, blendable, long-lasting, and smooth; I was like "Oh. Thaaat's what eyeshadow is supposed to be like". Although I loved the Naked palette, I couldn't pull off all of the shimmery colors. The matte textured shadows were beautiful, but there weren't enough to create a look (only 2). When I came across the Naked Basics palette, I knew I had to have it. The colors may not appear very exciting, but they are perfect for everyday looks and smokey looks. The quality is outstanding, and the value is insane ($29 for 6 full size shadows; cheaper than buying 2 shadows individually). It also makes a great complement to the original Naked palette, and it's great for travel. In summary, I completely recommend this palette. I would purchase it again in a heartbeat, and I can't live without it. I hope next year brings the Naked3 Basics, because rosy-toned shadows really compliment my features.Bottom Line- For versatility, high quality, and amazing value; you need this in your life!! I definitely recommend this, and will be buying back-ups myself Less

Great Product, Great Value

This shadow is well pigmented, applies and blends smoothly, lasts all day (14+ hours and it still looks good) and does not crease. I love the colors and tend to use this palette along with the Naked Palette. Both are great pallettes and can be used for a neutral eye or kicked up for a stronger evening look. I normally don't buy pallettes because I end up using only a few shades, but I like these so much I find myself experimenting all the time with various colors. The colors compliment each other so well that its easy to try new combinations without increasing the amount of time it takes to do your makeup. I love the matte colors, and those that aren't are perfect - not too shimmery. I normally measure eyeshadow texture and smoothness of application against Dior shadow because its like solid confectioner's sugar and applies and blends so beautifully. This Urban Decay shadow is just as good for a fraction of the price and it has fantastic colors. A great product and a great value. The packaging is nice too - feels well made and I can carry it if I need to without worrying about damaging the shadow. Less

Chalky texture, odd colors

Yes, it sounds like a great idea in theory and it's tempting for those of us who are tired or or can't easily wear shadows with a lot of shimmer (or worse, glitter) in them. But these colors have a huge amount of fallout, feel and look chalky upon application and are harder to blend than even cheap, drugstore shadows. I'm not sure why this is, UD is usually a decent choice for any type of product range. But these colors aren't "velvety" they are chalky and thick, even when applied very lightly, with fingers or a brush. The colors are kind of "off" too. The first color in the palette is a weird pinky white, the second is a very yellow color that has so much red undertone in it that it's unwearable for most people. The middle two colors are more neutral in color and undertone and make nice crease or neutral lid colors, but again, they are extremely chalky. The two darker colors are good in theory, especially the black, which isn't a true black, it's like a mix of very dark brown and charcoal, so there's enough color to make impact like black without being too harsh.Trying to use the darker two colors as a liner, I was also disappointed. It's not possible to use them wet and dry there is so much fallout even after blending on the back of your hand with a very fine brush that it's nearly impossible to neatly line the eye.I also didn't feel like any of these colors had any lasting power and I am someone who has normal to dry lids and doesn't ever need a primer. If something actually is designed to last, I can usually wear it all day without fade or transfer. Not these colors.Bottom line: It might work for some people, but I'd stick with other matte palettes or choose one that has a mix of matte and shimmer that has a better texture. Less
