No more eyeliner transfer! Great for hooded eyelid

The older I get (I'm 39), the more hooded my eyelids are. This has meant not only changing the way I do my eye makeup but also struggling hard to keep my eyeliner from transferring onto my newly made-up eyelid. For at least two years, I lived with the frustration of having to redo my eye makeup not once but twice a day simply because my eyeliner would make its way onto the crease of my eyelid. Some mornings I wouldn't even get out of the bathroom without my eyeliner transferring. I tried everything. Watched every video. Switched my eyeliner a thousand times. NOTHING worked. Then I got an Urban Decay sample eyelid primer from Sephora, and my eyeliner stopped transferring!! Only problem: the UD primer was pretty cakey. My eyelids ended up looking dry and crackly with it.Even still, I was gonna order a full-size UD primer because I LOVED that my eyeliner transfer problem was solved - I could deal with the cakiness. ....And then I saw reviews that pointed me to Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Everyone was saying it was less drying than but just as good as UD. I confirmed that Too Faced was cruelty free, like UD, and decided to order it instead.Too Faced Shadow Insurance is a game-changer.Anyone with hooded eyelids needs this stuff. Not only does my eyeliner NOT transfer even a little... but my eye makeup stays on all day, looking fresh and fab. I now do my eye makeup once a day - not multiple times. Here's what I do, if it helps you:1) Don't use moisturizer around your eyes in the morning.2) Apply a teensy amount of TFSI on each eyelid and let it dry.3) Apply eyeliner.4) **Without blinking or lifting my eyelids,** quickly swipe a little translucent powder over the eyeliner to set it. (I haven't tried not doing this step. It works, so Imma keep doing it.)5) Apply the rest of my makeup as normal.More people need to know about this stuff and use it. I plan to use it for life. Get it. Get it. Get it. « less

Fantastic primer! Good for Oily Skin

I have very sensitive and oily skin. Whenever I put on makeup without a primer, it will melt at the end of the day, so I finally decided to purchase a primer. After reading all the reviews, I couldn't make choice between UD and TF so I asked my roommate, who also have oily skin. She highly recommend me the TF primer. Though, she told me that she never used UD primer before, she fine TF really works well for her. After I purchased the Naked 3 palette, I got free samples of the UD primer, at the same time, I already purchased TF. I tried both and I really like TF better than UD. UD feel too thick for me. Even though both show the color very well, but I find TF made my eyeshadow look not only pretty but natural. Moreover, my make up last the whole day without any smudge, which I did feel a little smudge at the end of the day when I was wearing UD primer. It is interesting to feel that the part where I wore the TF primer is not oily at all and the rest part of my eyelid where had no primer on was just oily like I used to be. This product is amazing!!!! « less

Adore this product!

Let me tell you, it took me MONTHS to figure out whether I should purchase Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Urban Decay's Primer Potion. I got samples of both and debated a lot between them. I decided to get this product because I feel like my eyeshadow goes one smoother and it makes it more vibrant. Like, this product makes bad-product eyeshadows workable and gorgeous! This product is a bit more watery than UD's, but I feel that UD's primer potion formula tends to dry up a bit after a few months, so it makes it a bit less blendable. Too Faced Shadow Insurance corrects a bit some of the color on the lids and it's even quite hydrating. I have combination/oily skin, but my lids are extremely dry, so this product also helps my lids manageable before the shadow is on. And with this product, my eye shadow lasted all day. Seriously, from 9 in the morning till 9 at night, and my eye shadow looked perfect. You only need to use an itty bit of the primer on the lids, so this product lasts for a very long time. I love it! « less

I have had my Top Faced Shadow Insurance for a couple of months now and have really only used it a handful of times which that right there should tell you how I feel about it. First off, it is super runny and oily and no amount of shaking or squeezing the tube gets it to mix and because of that this primer does not prevent my eyeshadow from creasing. It seems like any time I wear this primer my eyeshadow looks worse off than it would if I wouldn't wear any primer. I used this primer today and not even an hour after applying my eyeshadow, it was creased and I do not have oily eyelids, they are actually the opposite and quite dry. Even now just touching my eyelids they seem kind of oily. It also seems that whenever I use this primer, it takes forever to get my eyeshadow to blend and that's even when I'm just doing a simple look like today with just a matte lid color blended up into the crease. If you're looking for an awesome eyeshadow primer that will not crease, intensifies your shadows, and helps eyeshadows to last all day then I would recommend NARS Pro Prime, Urban Decay Primer Potion, or Benefit Stay Don't Stray. Also, a truly amazing eyeshadow primer that you can get at your local drug store for only $3 is Wet N Wild's Fergie take on the day eyeshadow primer, I would recommend that before this primer any day and actually prefer it over most of my high end primers it is that amazing and a tube of that stuff will seriously last you way over a year and that's if you use it everyday because a little bit goes a long way. « less

Best primer for oily/combo skin

This is hands down my new favorite eyeshadow primer. I had been a big fan of Urban Decay's primer because it is long-wearing and would last through sweat/day clubs, however I noticed that for me, using it for long-wear it would dry out my skin. I also like Too Faced formula better because it's like a lotion instead of a thick paste. It truly keeps your makeup crease-free and I am recommending it to any girls who need long wear protection.PROS: works amazingly if you got oily eyelids like me, absorbs easily, applies like lotion/absorbs clear into skin, smooth and silky formulaCONS: I do think the Urban Decay primers boost your eyeshadow pigments more than Too Faced primer, BUT it's not a deal breaker for me since I like a more natural makeup look
