I have dry, acne prone skin and I have been trying everything to get rid of my acne for the past year! nothing works (curology, neutrogena light mask, acne washes, tea tree oil, mario badescu- you name it!) does anyone have any recommendations for a natural at home remedy for acne? I’m done with all the chemicals ingredients on my face.

I know you said no chems but the only thing that worked for me was 1 session of a chemical peel (ask for 7 layers) and drink ONLY water in place of any other beverage. ONLy WaTeR!! Don’t believe me, look at my before and afters. Still can’t believe it’s me. - 1 session of a strong chemical peel -Drink Water ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Oxy gently in circular motions until face starts feeling tingly. -and an oil free moisturizer! Let me know how it goes! Good luck!

Honestly I did like three to four different sessions of chemical peels and they really were life changing. Unfortunately for me my acne continued so I went on Accutane

So no matter what type of foundation, setting spray, and translucent powder I use my skin ALWAYS gets oily/shiny and caked in my pores. I have tried a TON of remedies and no success 😕 any advice or products? Thank you!

So this could sound crazy but if you have tried a bunch of things your skin could be dehydrated and overproducing oil to compensate. Maybe try extra hydration at night followed by a non stripping cleanser in the morning. I also recommend daily use of niacinamine to help reduce pore size and regulate sebum production.

Anyone know of a concealer that’s not drying but will cover dark circles? Dark circles are in my genes so mine are pretty dark, and I haven’t found one yet that I am completely happy with. Then there’s also the fact that my skin under my eyes is super dry and can get bumps/bubbles when I apply certain concealers. Thanks! #concealer #dryskin #darkcircles

Recently I’ve been paying more attention to my brows. They aren’t thin so I don’t want to fill them in everyday, but I do want to shape them. Anyone know a cheap clear eyebrow gel? Thank you!

KUSH gel is a great higher end brow gel for a long day hold but if you’re looking for cheaper then I recommend Essence Lash/Brow Clear gel. That’s my everyday product and it does a great job.

What kind of toner do you guys use? #Drugstore ? #Prestige ? Any recommendations for combination skin (oily T- zone); acne prone forehead; acne scars... currently I use Thayers Cucumber toner and I use philosophy as my moisturizer 🤷🏽‍♀️

This has helped with my hyperpigmentation, acne, oily t-zone, and my enlarged pores. I use this after every wash before my moisturizer, and it’s been a game changer. I absolutely swear by it. And the best part is you can find this at just about any store that sells facial cleansing products for a low price and the bottle lasts me for months at a time!

Anyone know about a good drugstore (or drugstore price) moisturizer for dry sensitive skin that’s fragrance free? I recently used to use Glossier’s priming moisturizer then moved to using Embryolisse lait creme concentrate but lately I’ve been extra sensitive to fragrance I tried CeraVe’s moisturizing cream and works great on my body but it performs terribly on my face, then currently I’m using Simple’s replenishing ultra rich moisturizer for dry skin but it just seems to evaporate on my face (I try to overcompensate with face oil and my sunscreen but it’s still not enough/right)

This is extremely moisturizing and it’s fragrance free. A few months ago while I had to give myself these shots that made every single minor scratch I got turn into these horrible infections and every single product I put on my face caused awful allergic reactions and made my face peel (sorry if that was TMI), this was the only moisturizer I could use that didn’t irritate my skin while still keeping it well hydrated. You get a lot of product for the price too.

ALSO if you’re ever down to treat yourself try the Glow Recipe PHA/BHA toner. It’s hydrating and very gently exfoliating. Much milder than the Ordinary glycolic toner but still effective I’ve found! The hydration is a huge plus for me.

exfoliate, use a serum with hyaluronic acid, and finish with this moisturizer! i use this product at the last step of my skincare routine and it makes my skin so dewy and hydrated. def let it soak in for at least 30 mins before putting on makeup and bam - perfect dewy skin all day. i also use the elf dew me up primer and the l’oréal pro glow foundation for even more glowy goodness. so so good, esp for dry skin.

I use this powder which is amazing. Also before doing anything else (primer, etc) right after toning I use milk of magnesia (weird but works). Keeps me matte for hours but doesn't look cakey!

Does anyone have any tips to get volume in the roots of their hair? I straighten my hair often and I don’t straighten my roots so they have volume but even then my hair has lost so much volume to it. It has also started having breakage at the top of my hair which I never straighten. Any tips?

What is your go to foundation? I love a fuller coverage with a matte finish that is long lasting. I am currently using Makeup forever HD and while the coverage is amazing it doesn’t stay on very long for me. I also have acne prone skin so something that won’t clog my pores. Thank you!

Clinique @Even Better Makeup is the best! I have sensitive, combination skin and I like light, but also buildable coverage. This stuff is amazing. It’s pricier, but a little goes a long way. My bottle has lasted several months.

my skin has been oily for years, i would get a pimple here and there when i usually ate one chocolate, skin has always been on the bumpy side though, and i have alot of uneven skin tone. now to try to get rid of the oils and bumpiness my sister recommend using the body shop tea tree soap, then the body shot vitamin c scrub and them the tea tree face mask and to sleep in it. i tried it and got chemical burn, completely broke me out and make my skin more sensitive to everything, i used to be able to use estee lauder double wear and now even that breaks me out. ive tried all the vitamins everyone has recommended, i tried clinique, stirvectin, hydrolic acid, now im on cerave the light blue bottle face wash, i tone put the hydrolic serum and face moisturizer im so close to giving up, my face just looks horrible now i have alot of scarring, still bumpy and red. its embarrassing, any recommendations welcomed!!

@Sandra Rivera having a good skin care regimen is always important. Making sure you cleanse and moisturize every morning and cleansing and toning every night as well. I’m using DermAware products right now for my whole skin care regimen. Has the dermatologist ever recommended chemical peels?

Hey guys! First post on here but have a question about skincare. Does your skin get sometime ‘scaley’ (if that makes sense) I put on moisturizer then foundation and it literally looks like I’m a snake I exfoliate and everything so I’m not quite sure. If you have any recommendations that would be great!
Profile picture of Georgina Meraz

I get what you mean, it could be that you don’t have the right moisturizer. I prefer water based moisturizers they’re lightweight and don’t clog your pores, also don’t exfoliate too often once or twice a week should be enough. I’d recommend also doing primer after moisturizer and before foundation, this is the one I use 👇🏼. And at night make up a little skin care routine of products that fit your skin type, it doesn’t have to be super crazy or expensive, bubbling cleanser is good for sensitive skin and doesn’t strip your face, toner, some serum or oil and a good nighttime moisturizer should do Sorry for the long answer hope it helps tho💕

I wash my face with the glam glow and then finish off with the knours skin mediation gel. Neither are “acne” products but they both have been working really well with just cleaning up my pores and giving my skin the love it deserves. I’ve found acne treatments don’t work well on my face. My acne just fights back. So I found that simply cleaning my skin and using the mediation gel just makes my pores happier. Less dirt the better. Also neither product is oily. Which is a plus. The knours really helps calm down the redness in my face as well.

There’s acne and then there is HORMONAL acne.. if you suffer like I do, you understand the frustration.. what are some cleansers, toners, and moisturizers you use for hormonal acne? I like my skincare routine/products, but I think I want to go stronger..

I literally had THE WORST hormonal acne after taking a plan b pill, and the only thing that saved my skin was this. I had never had acne like that before. It was either deep large under the skin pimples or small hard almost bead like pimples that were also under the skin. I used these pads religiously once a day and it cleared up my acne super well. The only drawback I had was that after using it for a while (give or take 3-6 months) my skin turned extremely sensitive. I used a toner in replacement of the product and I’ve been fine since. Otherwise, those treatment pads were a godsend.
