If you get anything from this line, get this!

I rarely write reviews these days but this product deserves all of the praise. It is my go to night time and day time moisturizer. For reference I am 28, have sensitive skin (especially on my face and neck) I have fair skin, suffer from some random hormonal acne around my chin and hair line area, and I get an oily T-Zone pretty easily. I am a minimalist when it comes to fashion and skin care. I work in the healthcare field so my hours are long and I don't have time to fit and flutter around with lengthy beauty routines (I wish I did have the time because I love skincare products!). During the day I let this moisturizer sink for about 10 minutes then I put on my physical sunscreen. I will admit that all of these products were a bit off putting to me at first. I was confused by all of the layering and all of the bottles. How am I am supposed to combine these? Am I doing this right? Will I mix these wrong? I was really confused but after watching a few YouTube videos I was able to figure it out. So if you too are confused I suggest typing in the product you are curious about into the YouTube search bar and all of your questions will be answered! I winded up getting this because it was basic and I needed basic. It moisturizes better than my $160 face creams, it doesn't clog my pores, my face feels more plump and supple and my fine lines are basically non existent now. I would pay more for a larger bottle yet I understand that these are small because they are meant to be layered with the other products that The Ordinary offers. The HA in this moisturizer is the icing on the cake. It lasts a long time and is a new holy grail product for me. This is a must have for me now! If you get anything in this line, get this you will not be disappointed. Less

I LOVE this moisturizer

I am so happy I heard about this brand and decided to give it a try. I've tried two products from The Ordinary and I'm really excited to try more! I've tried multiple moisturizers in the past and I've never used one that I felt worked super well immediately, but this one DID. The first time I put it on I felt like I made a good choice because my skin felt immediately more hydrated than it did before. I have normal to combination skin, I have dry spots (my nose and the apples of my cheeks can get pretty dry) and everywhere else is normal most of the time, but since I've started using this moisturizer my cheeks haven't been dry once, and my nose only has the occasional dry spot (normally if I've recently had a pimple that's gone). It's not heavy, so I don't feel like my skin is drowning in product, but it's also not so light I feel like it does nothing at all. There's not a heavy fragrance, just a general skincare smell, like an unscented lotion, and it sinks into my skin immediately. My ONLY con is that sometimes my skin does get quite oily, I'm not sure why, but some afternoons I might have some excess oil on my forehead and the bridge of my nose. It's not even that frequently (maybe two or three times since using this), so I don't think it's caused exclusively by this product, but I figured I should add it in just in case.I've been using this as my primary moisturizer (one of only two things I put on my skin regularly, the other being a gentle cleanser) for five weeks and my skin has NEVER looked better. It looks brighter, it's clear, I didn't struggle with the small bouts of acne I usually get around a certain time of the month, and it LOOKS moisturized. I definitely think I've finally found a product that works for me, and at such an amazing price! It's definitely worth a try, I think. Less

does what it says

this is my favourite summer moisturizer! i have normal to sensitive skin and i was looking for a moisturizer that will literally just seal the moisture without making my face look greasy or making my skin breakout and i found it! the texture is a v lightweight lotion and it absorbs really fast especially when it’s on a dry skin, it takes a little bit of time when u have some products on but really not much i just pat in and everything’s fine! i feel like this is the perfect moisturizer for those with oily skin due to its absorbing factor and the is had no greasy finish! i saw a lot of comments saying that they didn’t see any improvement in their skin but it isn’t supposed or made for something in particular except sealing the moisture in ur skin which is perfect for the price!!!! whatsoever if ur on the drier side like me always put some hyaluronic acid before and ur good to go! i put some oil after in night because it’s really lightweight but overall i’m really happy with this purchase, it does what it says! i feel like you can always adjust it depending on ur need and adding some products which i love! i’m saying that this is my favourite summer moisturizer because i can apply it before working out and i know it will not made me breakout or at any moment of the day when i feel that my skin is getting drier due to the sun and the environmental factors. finally i think that this is really worth to try it out specially for those those with oily skin or mixed and if u end up not liking it it still a really good moisturizer for ur hands and body:) Less

not for sensitive skin

I was really looking forward to trying out a new skin routine with THE ORDINARY, but unfortunately I didn’t get the results I wanted. I used this product along with the hyaluronic acid and the squalane per THE ORDINARY website which suggested this combo for dry skin. I tested everything and my skin appeared to tolerate it fine but within 4-5 days my whole face was more dry than before starting this routine, rashy/broke out, and just overall redness and irritation. I would not recommend this product to anyone with very sensitive skin. All of these products are very concentrated and that is great but if you have skin that doesn’t tolerate such strong effects then I don’t think these are the products for you.

toner: i use @Skin Perfecting BHA 2% Liquid Exfoliant cleansers: i use lush’s aqua marina but i also heard @Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin is really good if you don’t have a lush near you. serum: i use the @Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% or a vitamin c serum moisturizer: i use the @Natural Moisturising Factors + HA or the @Clear Improvement Pore Clearing Moisturizer With Bamboo Charcoal . i use mostly the origins one at night time. sunscreen: i use the cerave face sunscreen spf30 and mix a little of it with the ordinary moisturizer because it it does have a white cast to it and mixing it doesn’t make it as much!

Anyone know about a good drugstore (or drugstore price) moisturizer for dry sensitive skin that’s fragrance free? I recently used to use Glossier’s priming moisturizer then moved to using Embryolisse lait creme concentrate but lately I’ve been extra sensitive to fragrance I tried CeraVe’s moisturizing cream and works great on my body but it performs terribly on my face, then currently I’m using Simple’s replenishing ultra rich moisturizer for dry skin but it just seems to evaporate on my face (I try to overcompensate with face oil and my sunscreen but it’s still not enough/right)

This is extremely moisturizing and it’s fragrance free. A few months ago while I had to give myself these shots that made every single minor scratch I got turn into these horrible infections and every single product I put on my face caused awful allergic reactions and made my face peel (sorry if that was TMI), this was the only moisturizer I could use that didn’t irritate my skin while still keeping it well hydrated. You get a lot of product for the price too.

I have sensitive skin and very dry and dehydrated. When I shower I notice my skin is super tight and dry and itchy. I have tried a lot of new moisturizers and cleansers but nothing seems to help or make a lot of difference. Any advice or suggestions please 💕

Check out The Ordinary’s products! I would recommend the one I linked or any other hylaraunic acid containing products that they have. HA is great for moisturizing your skin! I’ve been using this moisturizer for 3+ months and it has been amazing!!! All of their products are clean, so you aren’t putting any harmful products on your skin. Also, make sure your cleansers are clean and not stripping your skin of all of it’s natural hydration.

I’m still on the hunt for a great face wash for dry skin. Cetaphil and CeraVe unfortunately leave behind a filmy residue for me, and all Neutrogena products burn my face. The Aveeno Ultra Calming Face Wash is my favorite so far but still looking for one I absolutely love. As for moisturizers, this one from The Ordinary is amazing. It’s not too thick but is very hydrating, doesn’t have a scent, and you get quite a bit of product for the money, I love it.
