My skin is mainly dry (but oily around the T zone sometimes) and extremely sensitive - I was worried that the oil wouldnt absorb properly and make me look greasy but it absorbed fully pretty quick. I’d definitely say that a little goes a long way. It left my skin feeling really silky and smooth after the first use (I have really clear non textured skin to begin with though). It also made my skin look bright and fresh. For an oil, it’s pretty lightweight. Would definitely recommed

Very oily/uncomfortable

I really was disappointed in this product unfortunately, too oily and slick feeling makes my skin feel very uncomfortable and takes a long time to soak in. I may try it again in a couple months but as my acne is really bad right now I’ll be staying FAR away from this product for a while.

Great for sensitive/ oily/ acne prone skin

I have very acne prone, oily skin and this oil has not only helped to control that and balance out the drying effects of my prescription retinoid, but also actually made my skin less oily on a daily basis by balancing out the oil production. It's very lightweight; my skin would never absorb other oils like rose hip and marula but it absorbs this. Very good quality for the price and free of any sensitizing ingredients (my skin reacts to almost anything, and this actually helped to calm down the redness)

After trying countless moisturisers that didn't hydrate enough and often were too greasy to wear under makeup, I decided to given an oil-esque product a try for my dry skin, knowing it was only going to get worse as winter was approaching. This product is perfect for doing exactly that - it hydrates without providing that greasy residue feeling, sinks into the skin beautifully, and works perfectly under makeup to give a fresh, dewy, lit-from-within glow. For me, it really helps with makeup application, as it improves my base so I'm not stacking up layers of product trying to get it to stick to dry skin like I used to. It is a tiny bit tacky but not enough to prolong makeup wear and I do mostly use a primer on top of it, however I have found that makeup doesn't slip off without that barrier, so it's perfectly fine to skip that step if you don't need your makeup to last a long time. I have extremely sensitive skin and have had no issues at all when using this. Not a single spot, no tingling or stinging, no redness - nothing. I recently started using this in my hair too - just running it through my hair when wet and then blowdrying. I was a little worried at first, because you know, it's like an oil, and I didn't want to look like I'd just dipped my head in the fryer at McDonalds. Needless to say, it didn't look like that at all; it made my hair SO shiny, silky and hydrated that I was getting compliments all day. I destroyed my hair doing the no poo method and after messing up the pH, it is sooo dry that most masks won't even touch it, but The Ordinary's Squalane is a miracle worker. My hair is down to my bum so I can't afford to use it everytime I wash my hair but I use it without fail whenever I want to impress! I use this 2-3 times a day on my face though and I've gotten through a single bottle in 3 months, so personally I think the value is great as it's really low priced. I've repurchased already but I'll keep buying it again and again as I can't see myself living without this now!

Baby soft skin in days

Another staple in my everyday skincare routine, just wow! This was the product I was most hesitant to try due to not liking oily/greasy products on my face (I mean who does?) and I was previously using a rose oil for hydration but found it too heavy for daily use. I decided to give this a go and I'm pleasantly surprised by how good it is. If you're looking for a deeply hydrating, non greasy alternative to the face oils out there definitely go for this. I have sensitive skin that is dehydrated with a tendency to break out in blemishes and this does not irritate or worsen any of my skin concerns. It leaves me skin baby soft and smooth that is hydrated and supple. I have noticed after applying my Niacinamide serum and Hyaluronic Acid serum that this causes the dead skin on my face to lift up and ball up as I rub it in. I wasn't sure what this was at first but I just brush it off my face as I rub it in, what's left behind is beautifully smooth nourished skin. I also have a beautiful healthy glow to my skin that i've never achieved before. I even go out without makeup on now. I 100% recommend this to people unsure about buying it- it's definitely worth it.

I’m looking for a new primer. Something for pores and hydrating. Any recommendations?

I’ve been loving Hard Candy’s Smoothing Primer Balm, it fills in pores even better than the e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer and hydrates without feeling heavy, it’s about $8 at Walmart. And if I have extra dry spots I’ll put this just in those areas and it really makes a difference.

I have found that by adding a lot of moisture to my skin at night, I am less oily during the day. I added this face oil to my nightly routine and love it! It’s pretty cheap ~$8 and available at Ulta, so it’s worth the try.

I use Clinique’s Dramatically Different Lotion as a hydrating primer, you can get a small tube of it for $5 at Ulta. And I’ll put this on any spots that feel extra dry and let it sink in before applying foundation and it works great, and it’s only about $7.

Have you tried this specific facial oil from the ordinary? I think it’s the best they offer - I would recommend you try it if this wasn’t the one you are referring to. I love how gentle and replenishing it is!

I’ve loved everything I’ve tried from them so far. Their Granactive Retinoid Serum helped soften my fine lines, and their caffeine eye serum is great for lightening dark circles. They also have a great hyaluronic acid moisturizer, and I use a small amount of this oil on my dryer areas before I apply foundation and it makes my makeup look so much better.

After applying my primers I’ll put a small amount of this on areas where I still feel dry and let it absorb completely before putting my foundation on and it makes a big difference for me.

I want to start using the Ordinary brand but have no idea where to start! After looking at the website and watching YouTube videos I’m still lost, can anybody help me with this? I have sensitive skin, I’m a teen so I get hormonal acne other than that it’s pretty normal but I definitely need to get a good skincare routine because I don’t have that now, my skin has been declining so help would be appreciated!

I would recommend this product. You can include it in your daily skincare routine after cleansing your skin for extra hydration (the squalane is great for this and compatible for sensitive skin). Also, mix it with foundation for a glowy, hydrating touch! :)
