I’ve been having an issue finding a full coverage foundation and setting powder combo that doesn’t feel as though all the moisture is being sucked out of my skin. I cleanse and moisturize, prime with green color correcting primer , and use a sponge for foundation. I like full coverage because of the rosacea, and I like a matte finish but after applying powder, I crease, and crack, and overall feel super dry. I’m over 40, have fine lines to boot. Any suggestions?
Currently searching for products to use on my birthday and I need advice on primers, longwearing foundations, concealers and powders with no flashback. So far I’m interested in trying Charlotte Tilbury’s most recent foundation and the pressed powder. Any luxury recommendations that are worth the splurge and hold up on combo/oily skin? I struggle with a lot of shine mainly between my brows and around my nose :)
anyone know a good color corrector? i bought Pacifica’s color correcting palette but when I blended it, the product would disappear and leave my skin flaky. i might buy the LA girl ones, but I need too many colors and I’m afraid the price will be too high.
I have dry, acne prone skin and I have been trying everything to get rid of my acne for the past year! nothing works (curology, neutrogena light mask, acne washes, tea tree oil, mario badescu- you name it!) does anyone have any recommendations for a natural at home remedy for acne? I’m done with all the chemicals ingredients on my face.
What is a good foundation that doesn’t cake, that isn’t heavy, and doesn’t stick to my imperfections or dry skin? I’ve tried, Maybelline, elf, the brand from the dollar store & one my sister-in-law gave me.The dollar store work well also came with a colored primer, but it made me break out. Any recommendations like that? I’m new to make up. So any info helps. At this
Moment I’m just using primer & color corrector due to redness & dark circles.
I’ve asked for recommendations for foundations a bit lately but I always ask for drugstore products. Now I’m just asking for any suggestions for foundations for dry skin, my go to has been e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation but now with the weather changing even it’s looking kind of dry and flaky on me, even though I’ve switched to my thick moisturizer and prep my skin thoroughly beforehand. I really want to find a foundation with good coverage that’s also very hydrating and I just haven’t had any luck with any I’ve tried so far, so any suggestions are much appreciated.
good primer for combo skin??
ive noticed that my color correctors don’t stick to my skin and disappear after blending it in. i also have combination skin. ive tried the benefit porefessional primer in the past, but I feel as though it didn’t do much for me. id prefer it to be cheap!!
With so many people moving into serums and acids just a reminder:
You should NOT mix these
VITAMIN C + AHAS/BHAS : Combining retinol with Vitamin C is a recipe for peeling, redness and irritation, in short, a total disaster for the health of your skin
RETINOIDS + AHAS/BHAS: damages skin moisture barrier and can cause irritation, redness, dry skin over time; use separately and sparingly
RETINOIDS + VITAMIN C: may cause over exfoliation, resulting in increased skin and sun sensitivity; separate into day/night routines
Benzoyl peroxide + vitamin C
OIL-BASED + WATER-BASED.
GLYCOLIC ACID + SALICYLIC ACID: too many acids can strip the skin and damage its ability to recover
NIACINAMIDE + VITAMIN C: use in careful moderation. Some studies show that They stabilize each other some shoe that mixing vitamin c can result in a niacin flush (red irritation to the skin).
-Retinols should mostly be used at night
- Vitamin C should mostly be used at night
-Wait 20 mins when layering multiple serums (if you find your skin can tolerate it in one setting)
-Don’t forger your SPF 30 during the day
-When introducing acids to your face “purging” is only normal to a certain extent
I can’t cover my dark circles well enough :( I use a peach color corrector and urban decay concealer and tarte tinted moisturizer because I hate heavy coverage foundation which usually makes me break out and feels too thick. Are there any tricks or better products out there??
