I’m sick of my lashes looking non-existent!! What’s a good mascara? I’ve tried so many I’m running out of ideas... 🙃 Like ‘better than sex’ by too faced did nothing for me, that wand is the worst ☠️ #mascara

I thought I was the only one who hated that mascara lol!!! I really enjoy the Lash Stiletto in waterproof by Maybelline. My eyelashes are really straight and I find the only way my curl stays is if I use waterproof and baby oil is an easy way to remove it. I’ve tried a lot of newest mascaras but I always go back to this one. It’s awesome for length and also adds some volume.

Currently searching for products to use on my birthday and I need advice on primers, longwearing foundations, concealers and powders with no flashback. So far I’m interested in trying Charlotte Tilbury’s most recent foundation and the pressed powder. Any luxury recommendations that are worth the splurge and hold up on combo/oily skin? I struggle with a lot of shine mainly between my brows and around my nose :)

Thoughts on The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution? I know tons of people rave about it but I’m debating about biting the bullet and trying it with my sensitive skin.

It’s really good but the ordinary doesn’t recommend people who have sensitive skin to use it although I did read on their reviews, if i remember correctly, that some people who have sensitive skin said that they loved it🤷🏽‍♀️idk what’s that about but if you do end up getting it do a patch test first.

@Amira Stephens See my skin is pretty weird, I had a bad reaction to 2% salicylic acid pads a few years ago. Yet since then, when I’ve used other products (even with salicylic acid in it) like acne treatments that you have to slowly start up using to build immunity, I’ve had absolutely no problems and it doesn’t take near as long to be able to use daily. That’s why I’ve been kind of iffy.

@nicole21 forever yes you're right to get a patch test. I hear it's v hit/miss w sensitive skin but if you are tolerant w salycilic acid at least w sensitive skin you are safe to use this once a week for 10 mins max

I have dry, acne prone skin and I have been trying everything to get rid of my acne for the past year! nothing works (curology, neutrogena light mask, acne washes, tea tree oil, mario badescu- you name it!) does anyone have any recommendations for a natural at home remedy for acne? I’m done with all the chemicals ingredients on my face.

I know you said no chems but the only thing that worked for me was 1 session of a chemical peel (ask for 7 layers) and drink ONLY water in place of any other beverage. ONLy WaTeR!! Don’t believe me, look at my before and afters. Still can’t believe it’s me. - 1 session of a strong chemical peel -Drink Water ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Oxy gently in circular motions until face starts feeling tingly. -and an oil free moisturizer! Let me know how it goes! Good luck!

Hi, everyone! For those of you who have used this product, is it normal to get small red bumps after applying it? Every time I’ve used it, I get a few of these and I assumed I was allergic to it (I’ve used another product with Niacinamide and the same thing happened). However, I also read that this could be my skin “purging” and that it’ll stop once I keep using it. I’ve been scared to apply it again lol Should I keep trying?

i think it depends ... how long have u been using ? if it’s been like 2 weeks then i think it could be purging similarly happened to me when i used it ... but if it rlly bothers u maybe just cut it out of ur routine or use it every other day

I’ve asked for recommendations for foundations a bit lately but I always ask for drugstore products. Now I’m just asking for any suggestions for foundations for dry skin, my go to has been e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation but now with the weather changing even it’s looking kind of dry and flaky on me, even though I’ve switched to my thick moisturizer and prep my skin thoroughly beforehand. I really want to find a foundation with good coverage that’s also very hydrating and I just haven’t had any luck with any I’ve tried so far, so any suggestions are much appreciated.

Always use an alcohol free toner! You never wanna use one with alcohol because it ages your skin and overall strips your skin. I use this one from Neutrogena.

What’s the consensus on fragrance in your skin care. Like I hear it’s bad and then I hear it’s fine?! I just don’t know if I should be trying to get all my skincare without any added fragrance?
Profile picture of A S

DryDry Skin
Fragrance can cause redness, irritation, and breakouts for those with sensitive skin. If your skin isn’t too sensitive then fragrance shouldn’t really effect you, but if you are still unsure than you could always be on the safe side. But make sure you get a toner with no alcohol in it. I recommend the Pixi Glow Tonic.

If you have acne prone/sensitive skin, I would not recommend using a physical exfoliant of any kind. A mild chemical exfoliant would be best! I like The Ordinary 5% lactic acid. It’s gentle, but effective, and should not irritate the skin.

With so many people moving into serums and acids just a reminder: You should NOT mix these VITAMIN C + AHAS/BHAS : Combining retinol with Vitamin C is a recipe for peeling, redness and irritation, in short, a total disaster for the health of your skin RETINOIDS + AHAS/BHAS: damages skin moisture barrier and can cause irritation, redness, dry skin over time; use separately and sparingly RETINOIDS + VITAMIN C: may cause over exfoliation, resulting in increased skin and sun sensitivity; separate into day/night routines Benzoyl peroxide + vitamin C OIL-BASED + WATER-BASED. GLYCOLIC ACID + SALICYLIC ACID: too many acids can strip the skin and damage its ability to recover NIACINAMIDE + VITAMIN C: use in careful moderation. Some studies show that They stabilize each other some shoe that mixing vitamin c can result in a niacin flush (red irritation to the skin). -Retinols should mostly be used at night - Vitamin C should mostly be used at night -Wait 20 mins when layering multiple serums (if you find your skin can tolerate it in one setting) -Don’t forger your SPF 30 during the day -When introducing acids to your face “purging” is only normal to a certain extent

Bio-Oil. It’s great for scarring, inexpensive, moisturizes without clogging pores and it helps with fine lines over time. I started using it for a couple chicken pox scars (from when I was little) I had on my forehead and then realized all the other benefits, so it’s still a constant for my personal skincare routine.

@Erin West I second this! Does wonders for scarring AND is my go to moisturizer at night for when it gets cold outside and my skin gets super dry. This is the only product I’ve found that prevents my skin from painful cracking and peeling
