Not Worth The Price

I am giving a one star review simply because this is too overpriced for what it doesn't do. I have combination skin, acne prone and have been using acids and retinoids since I had a nasty bout of hormonal acne when I turned 22 and have had to been on them ever since as I refuse to take birth control. Anyways you can say I need a TON of moisture and don't think I don't use ton of serums and whatnot to keep my skin moisturized. It speaks volumes that in combination with a ton of hydrating serums that this cream DRIED out my skin. Every night I would use it in lieu of my usual nighttime moisturizer, the Olay Fragrance Free (purple jar) and would wake up with dry skin. I decided to do a test where I would use this for a solid week then switch back to my Olay moisturizer and the differences was truly outstanding. I mean, my skin even looked cracked some mornings I would use this product. For the prices they are charging, this is unacceptable. The only pro I can think of that despite the fragrance it did not make me break out. Reading reviews I see that I have a vast difference experience from a lot of people, so if you are going to try out this product do not get the full size, get the trial size its enough to last you two weeks which is how long mine lasted and enough for me to make up my mind about this. Less

At frist.. But now :)

I LOVE this moisturizer. I have been struggling for a skincare routine for a long time. I have suffered with acne and really oily skin for a long time as well. I purchased a travel size of this after a friend recommended it to me. At first, it made me really oily. I am pretty sure I was using too much as the website reccomends a pearl sized amount. Still, It made my face feel so good that I decided to keep using it to see if my skin would adjust to having added moisture.I never really did moisturizers because I would break out and be oilier than before. After about a week and a half, I use this twice a day after each wash and my skin absolutely craves it. It has helped my skin so much. I can't remember a time when my face was so soft. For me, it does not cause any breakouts or irritation, which is another plus. I was reading some reviews and to be fair, the Tatcha website does recommend this for normal to oily skin. A lot of the bad reviews on here are people who have combination to dry skin, where the Tatcha website recommends a different moisturizer. It is expensive, but a little goes a long way .I received my travel size on October 8th and I probably still have a good week or two left and I use twice daily. I have already purchased the full size, as I will always keep this as a part of my routine. Less

It's a lightweight and great everyday moisturizer

I tried this moisturizer a long time ago, and my first impression wasn't the best. I didn't quite get the results I was looking for, and I never understood the "hype" behind the product. Later this year I decided to give it another try, and this product managed to surprise me with great results. It kept my skin hydrated, It didn't clog my pores, It kind of reduced some of the oil in my face (I have very oily skin), It didn't make me break out, and It felt extremely lightweight. This foundation was working wonders on my skin, so I asked myself what was it before that had not worked? Let me tell you, the difference was the way I was eating. If you are looking for any product that is magically going to transform your face, it's not going to work if you are eating unhealthy. Whatever you eat is going to show on your face. This moisturizer serves it's purpose amazingly and it will give you a glowy and hydrated healthy look, but as with any other product, this will only happen if you give it a good canvas to work with. Eating healthy is essential in order to have a healthy complexion. (I also found that this product reduces oiliness a little bit, so if you have very oily skin I would also recommend trying the Olehenriksen moisturizer, or Murad) « less

gentle yet powerful

One reviewer said this isn’t enough for dry skin, and she’s right. But my dry skin demands two moisturizers anyway: a water-based AND an organic, natural cream. That’s the dry life, babe!Until Tatcha WC, I’d never seen a moisturizer produce instantaneous results. Not even close.I’m 39 with healthy, very dry skin. I look for creams that mega-hydrate, but I always hope to find a diamond in the rough. Something to re-energize my skin, reactivate the color and firmness of my youth. A pipe dream, until this. Two days ago I spent $400 on new skincare products. Planned to overhaul my whole routine. I didn’t buy this, I snagged it as a reward. That night I tried my new Algenist anti-aging cream. It was very hydrating but left my skin dull, colorless. The Algenist cream’s consistency and scent are unappealing, at best. Kinda like rubbing your face with old pudding skin. Last night I reached for my Tatcha sample on a whim.My skin responded to this cream, dramatically, UPON CONTACT. My 25 year-old flesh materialized in the mirror. The long, gray winter has left my sun-craving skin pallid and dull. As I applied the Tatcha WC, I grew slightly tan and my cheeks’ natural, peachy hue resurfaced. My skin was crying out for something in this. It smells and feels wonderful. It’s a minor miracle. I’m lucky to have strong, clear skin, but time doesn’t discriminate. Age slowly diminishes the X factor of youthful beauty. Tatcha Water Cream restored mine. Thanks to my little 100-point reward, I stumbled upon an amazing combo. No BS, I haven’t felt so lovely in a decade. Yeah, I need a second cream to fully combat dryness, I just don’t care.[Products I used with Tatcha WC: Fresh Umbrian Clay Mask, Son & Park Beauty Water, Boscia Balancing Tonic, Shiseido essence, Eminence Organic’s Bamboo Firming Fluid, Tatcha Water Cream, Eminence Coconut Age-Corrective Moisturizer (to retain max hydration)] Less

Intense Hydration

After La Mer reformulated my beloved Gel-Crème to be a silicone-heavy version, I had to find a new moisturizer. I bought a small size of this in a set that came with The Deep Cleanse exfoliator. It feels a bit heavier and creamier than the original La Mer Gel-Crème, and it doesn’t absorb as quickly as the original Gel-Crème did or leave a velvety finish, but it still fully absorbs and leaves a slightly dewy, soft finish, not greasy at all. No breakouts or irritation on my breakout-prone, occasionally sensitive combination skin. For the first two weeks I loved it and it behaved perfectly under makeup and didn’t make my combination skin greasy by the end of the day. Then it started to feel like it wasn’t absorbing but just sitting on my skin, my maybe would slide and settle throughout the day, and my skin felt greasy. I was disappointed, but my skin had also been feeling rough on its own, so I quit using The Deep Cleanse, which I didn’t really like anyway, and went back to Dr. Brant PoreDermabrasion and gave my skin a thorough scrub. My skin felt instantly better and the Water Cream slid on and absorbed evenly, so I think the fault lied with The Deep Cleanse not scrubbing my skin as finely as I like it. After that, the seasons changed and The Water Cream was too rich for daytime, but it’s an excellent nighttime cream. My husband runs a dehumidifier in our room and the extra dose of moisture from The Water Cream is desperately needed. So Tatcha’s scrub isn’t for me, but the Water Cream is a deeply hydrating winner for nighttime or winter months. I’ve since bought a full-size jar and the cream continues to be intensely soothing and hydrating to my skin. Less

Anyone know good cleansers, exfoliates, moisturizers, etc. for a daily skin care routine? I can never find any that work for mainly acne but also don’t dry out my face. Please help!

What is a good moisturizer for oily skin? I typically don’t use moisturizer because my face is already oily but in the winter it does start to dry out a little bit and I use topical acne medication that sometimes dries it out as well.
