the formula is very light weight, nice texture, and instantly smooths and blurs before your foundation

pore minimizing

it blurs my pores out, makes my makeup last all day long, and it controls my oil from poking through throughout the day

- Tatcha User

what i love about this one is the delivery system, it’s a pump, the weightless feel on the skin, can use it alone, no makeup required, it feeds the skin, creates a nice silky canvas for your makeup if you do decide to glam up

Must Try This Primer

I have never had good experiences with primers in the past. No matter what they were advertised to do, they never seemed to do it. This Tatcha Liquid Silk Canvas is totally different. It does EVERYTHING right. It doesn't affect my makeup and feels like I am wearing nothing at all, yet I know I am wearing it because it makes my skin look so good. Just as Tatcha claims, this product really does smooth skin, blurs imperfections, and hides my lines and pores. Even though I always wear foundation over top of it, I wear a lot less now because this silk canvas has been helping prevent breakouts and even my skin tone. My skin also looks and feels less dry. One pump is all you need to perfect your skin each day. It looks and feels like a thick moisturizer when it comes out of the bottle but once it is on your skin it is so lightweight. It helps my other make up last all day. The packaging is adorable and high quality. The smell is sort of a light floral when you first apply it, but it does smell sort of peppery when rubbing it in. Eventually though the fragrance is nonexistent. This is the only primer I will be using in the future, it has totally changed my outlook on primers. I recommend it to anyone who is skeptical about using a primer or anyone who is obsessed with primers! Less

Dry skin saver. No need for foundation.

The original formula didn't quite work for me, so I had super high hopes on this liquid version and I had to snatch one as soon as it became available at my local Sephora.I have super dry skin (& maturing) so usually any mattifying products can be problematic. I stopped wearing foundation all over my face. If I do, it'd be partial or lightly concealing certain areas then translucent powder. So I needed something to somehow fill out pores and hiding imperfection of my skin surface. This is perfect product for that! This liquid formula glides on my skin literally silky and it's so smooth. It gives me nice satin finish and for dry skin person like me, I almost won't need setting powder after this. Or I can only lightly powder on my T-zone so it keeps powder usage to minimum.I use to love Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm, which I think is very similar except Josie's formula is balm and heavier. I found Tacha's last longer and feels more polished. Formula-wise, it feels almost identical to TOUCH IN SOL No Poreblem Primer. It's way more affordable and works so I liked it too, but I couldn't live with the strong smell. Tatcha, on the other hand, the smell is so gentle and soothing I found.Anyways, my point is, If you have dry skin you're gonna love this. All of Tatcha's products have skin loving ingredients as well, which is a big plus. This is the only product I can wear to look nicer worry-free.Thank you for creating this, Tatcha!! Less

Suited for ~Oily Skin

I tested half of my face with Tatcha’s liquid primer and the other half with Tatcha’s original clay primer to test out the difference. I have dry/eczema skin with eczema on my cheek bones and forehead. As backwards as it seems that the liquid primer suits best for oily skin (or oily areas) because it doesn’t suffocate the skin with so much product, therefore reduce the stimulation of oils in the skin. The original clay primer works best for my overall dry skin because it’s protecting my skin from water loss and smooths down the flakiness (yes!).Focusing just on the liquid primer... it sets very smoothly and thinly. Lightweight (or feels non-existent) as it claims to be. With eczema, this doesn’t cause me any skin irritation or flare-ups (yay!). Since it’s oil-free, the primer won’t trap itself into my pores to cause acne, so I think it’s safe to apply on top of acne-prone skin. It doesn’t noticeably whiten the skin like Tatcha’s clay primer so it won’t cause my foundation to look lighter than I wanted to. Less

I got this product for

I got this product for free for testing purposes and thought it was one of the best primers I have ever tried. I have never had good experiences with primers in the past. Incredibly Drying

I regularly use 8 Tatcha products, and really wanted to add this one to my arsenal! However, it left my skin so so dry. I applied it each time after using the dewy skin cream, and my skin felt dry and chalky. With repeated use, the dryness cause patchy breakouts on my face. I would not recommend this product for someone with dry and sensitive skin.
