Poreless Mattifying Primer

I have combination skin (a bit oily in the t zone an dry spots everywhere else)...and so far I love this! Haven't tried it long enough to comment on the breakout issue some other women have experienced but so far it's helped my foundation go on and stay on beautifully. I was looking for a more natural primer without harsh chemicals but still minimized lines and pores while providing a smooth base for my mineral foundation and this is it!!! Very pleased!

Really wanted to love it :( as far as being poreless it does minimize pores, nothing revolutionary though. I also feel like it clogged up my pores because I broke out and started to have a lot more texture. My face rarely breaks out unless my skin doesn't like something. As far as the mattifying aspect, NOPE. Did not work for me, I have extremely oily oily oily skin and this was not even close to helping me in that department. Upon first application it looked bomb and my skin did look smooth and matte but as soon as I walk out the house or I've had it on for 30 mins to an hour I see my oils peaking through tremendously. I've tried this multiple times with different techniques but after last night I called it. I got ready and I went straight to the movies last night when it was really cool outside and cold in the movie theater. when I went to the restroom probably an hour into the movie I was a greaseball :( I usually say if my "mattifying/poreless" products don't work even at night when I'm barely doing anything it's a no for me. It's been about two weeks since I purchased this primer, and it completely stands true to everything it says it does! I'm absolutely impressed, especially having used various primers for years. I have oily, very acne (cystic) prone skin, huge pores, uneven skin tone, and deep scars on my skin from said acne. So finding product for my face is tough due to its many imperfections and sensitivity. I put the Tarte poreless 12 hour primer all over my face, then let it set for about 5 minutes. It's soft and light, and super matte (which I LOVE)! I finish my makeup routine with a full coverage long wear foundation and a matte setting powder. My makeup stays put, even, and oil free all day without that heavy cakey feeling, or looking like I have a ton of makeup on, I also have to use less foundation with this primer now. Additionally, I have noticed in the two weeks of use that my pores have indeed gotten smaller and I am breaking out less since this natural ingredient bearing primer acts as a fantastic barrier underneath my chemically induced foundation, also I have some fine lines under my eyes and they are also less visible. I will use this product forever. And for as much product as you get for the price, it's so worth, as a little goes a long way. This is such a great filler for someone who has skin like mine or even someone who has perfect skin for which the can just wear this alone. The best part: this improves your skin every time you use it, and again, all the ingredients are 100% natural! I would and will recommend this for anyone!

I love this stuff. It makes my makeup glide on beautifully. It evens out those places where your skin isn't quite smooth and it makes those amazingly large pores you may or may not have vanish. It works wonders. I love the texture and I don't really notice any smell, but I could just be used to it. As far as I can tell it is water resistant, but I haven't tried swimming with it yet. I wear my makeup for over 12 hours normally and my makeup does start to disappear on my chin towards the end of the day but that might just be the makeup, not the primer. Overall, I think this product is worth trying, especially if you have oily skin or combo skin. And I think it would work for dry skin as well. Give it a try if you haven't already! And a little goes a long way.

I wrote this review in the wrong place (for the 12-hr skin brightening) this is the one my review is ment for)... I have been a sephora shopper for years and this is my first ever review. I have EXTREAMLY sensitive, oily, acne prone shin. Years ago when I went to an organic/all natural life style I changed my facial care and makeup as well...I had to give up smashbox primers :( as they broke me out and of course are far from all natural. I went to mineral makeup, but my skin is so sensitive and complexion is so hard to match up (I am African American...not dark not light, just brown but VERY Golden/bronze undertones) it took for ever to find a brand that could work for me …and BE was not the one, lol. The mineral make I finally found could work for me I have been using for a while but mineral make up, especially the ones with no kind of fillers, does not last long on very oily skin...I have been in search of a matte, stay put, pore filling primer that is all natural and would not break me out for yeas…good luck, right! I have tried EVERY natural line I know to try...I almost past this stuff by as I have used Tarts other primers and they did not work... Well, my prayers have been answered I bought this with the 12-hr eye lid primer as well, and they are AMAZING products!!!!! They have made my mineral foundation and eyeshadows not just last but the colors POP! It looks like I bought new make up and I have soft satin skin! I only need to apply my natural powders for oil control 2-3x a day (I could not go half an hour with out apply oil control powder)!!! My skin feels so soft, the expression lines and pores are filled in, I’m matte without being dried out....OH, and I have not had any break outs with this stuff!!! I have never been this excited about a primer line since I wore smashbox primers years ago....I love TARTE, and these two primes with their lash primer are may new MUST HAVES!!! I just hope they work for other in my boat just as well!!! « less
