Face Tape Foundation

I am 54 and have very good skin with the exception of minimal fine lines you would expect for my age. I use faithfully tartes BB tinted primer as my only foundation and I love it. But I thought wow maybe this would be nice to try and so after speaking with tartes representative I ordered the color they recommended which was light neutral 16N.This new foundation is horrible! It was very very drying, felt very heavy on the skin, AND it enhanced/settled into any fine line, wrinkle & pore! It brought out the tiniest of lines that I never even knew were there! The color was way off for a neutral tone skin as well it was very light to the ghostly side.I use just a squirt on my hand and applied with a sponge over top of the bb tinted primer as the rep. suggested and OH LORD even after trying to blend blend blend with the sponge it was a no go! I immediately washed it off and packed it back up to return.I will stick with Tartes BB tinted primer which is just perfect! BB tinted primer gives a nice smooth skin, not settling into fine lines and color is spot on in the light!Maybe on younger skin this new foundation is good but not for mature skin at all. « less

I had gotten the old Shape Tape as a present last year and it was okay but just very drying and cakey looking (I already have combo/dry skin) so I would only use it for special events and have to mix it with moisturizer or oil. I decided to try this new formula out since it's supposed to be more moisturizing and I needed something on the long wearing side.... boy did this exceed my expectations. As long as I moisturize and prep before and use thin layers this is amazing . Not drying but not oily , doesn't look cakey & does not sink into my pores . I have the worst luck with makeup breaking up after a few hours but this does not at all. Very impressed and will definitely repurchase! it's also great for my acne & breakouts , medium to full coverage depending on how much you use .

I've never bought the same foundation twice, to start with. my skin is ever changing; in the winter I'm so dry that I peel if I dont do a whole skin regimen to moisturize morning and night while still keeping an oily t zone, as for summer I have very oily skin. no matter what I am always acne prone, and have kept the same skin care products so I'm not throwing my skin off repeatedly and found what works for all seasons(in ohio). so this foundation, I pumped 1.5 pumps on a brush, and a blender the following week to try both, and it seemed slightly thick, but blended out so beautifully. the smell was amazing, not overpowering like huda, but so natural and fresh, i believe its fragrance free but I could be wrong. either way it had a very natural scent to it. I tried it with a hydrating primer (oil and non oil based) & found the ulta coconut hydrating primer worked the best. yet still it has not failed me. now my biggest issue in foundation is settling in wrinkles and fine lines, but this did not give up, not even after working. after the 10th hour it did start to settle in one of my smaller forehead wrinkles, but I wasnt bothered at all. my smile lines were no where to be found still. I set my face with laura mercier, which worked best. I also used air spun & ciate and both worked well also. I've use Mario, all nighter, fix+ & ulta dewy setting sprays. I really wanted to push the limits to see if this was a universal foundation and it truly was. so far the only thing I havent tried is porefessjonal because that has always made a bad turnout for me no matter what foundation I've used, drug store or high end. of course I use shape tape, but I've also used kokie, nars, & fit me. still, a beautiful finish was the end result. dry down wasnt too fast, but did come sooner than expected as my only down side for I take my sweet time during my routine as it's the only time I get away from my kids, that isnt during work. « less

I’m so excited about this new foundation!! I absolutely LOVE the formula and am just thrilled with how well it covers. The color selection is phenomenal & I really feel I have a perfect match now with this foundation! It’s definitely medium to full coverage. It blends like a dream. It smooths out my complexion beautifully leaving the perfect canvas to apply the rest of my makeup. It lasts me literally all day from 7 am to 9 pm (or even later sometimes) when I wash it off. I found I don’t need to even touch it up much either because it really stays put. The formula is also non drying and very comfortable on my skin. I have normal to dry skin & in winter it’s definitely dryer so having a foundation that doesn’t leave my face & skin feeling and looking dry is extremely important. I also noticed it does a phenomenal job at reducing the appearance of my pores as well. I’m recommending this to everyone. I couldn’t be happier with this foundation. Okay please read this review* I get so skeptical about reviews b.c I heard people lie, blah. And I do believe that now because my impulsive self has boughten all the rainforest of the sea collection .. I'm 29 and was(still) loyal, die hard for everything Origins, 99-2018 . I purchased the whole collection. *****And I've also bought Shape Tape Foundation, TWO rainforest of the sea water foundation & the new gel like paddle brush, (I forget what their called) . I was searching for a new brand foundation. I've spent too much money. If you want a buildable foundation that mixes with illuminaters, extra contouring etc it just mixes so well with this foundation. I do want to say ladies, remember, exfoliating and cleaning , hydrating & priming your clean , smooth face makes a difference. You can't have dry skin and expect ANY foundation to work as they say. This is worth every penny. When I figure out how to share my pictures I will!! This should be in the next section I'll write which are MY PERSONAL HIGHLIGHTS please read! However, this make up is sleep resistent , it will stay on (I wanted to see how long it could really last ) , sweat resistant , tears/crying hard resistant. I kept wiping my tears so it wouldn't ruin and it just stayed on.Highlights*TWO PUMPS. FULL FACE. FULL COVERAGE.*Damn near full coverage-full coverage so buildable*Goodbye wrinkles and foundation*Pores will disappear I'm guessing 100% on NON smokers. I smoke and I know that effects your pores so IF YOU ARE A SMOKER THIS DOES ELIMINATE THEM TREMENDOUSLY*It does not cake not even close to other foundations -pretty damn smooth-...I know there's a section for this but I wanted to express it. « less
