"pros:-oil control: this does a better job of oil control than anything else i've ever tried before-primer: as a primer it's much better than my previous one (too faced primed and poreless) but with the same smooth silky texture, matte finish, and ligthweight feel-light even coverage: i put on a very thin layer for light coverage, which evens out my skin tone but keeps my freckles showing through, as i want them to"
- Sephora User
"nonetheless, provides great light coverage and smooths my pores and an even base"

Blends well, doesn't oxidize, pore minimizing
I never have written a review on Sephora (though I love this store and products), but I realized with this product that I HAD to write a review. It is INCREDIBLE. I have been searching for a tinted moisturizer for a while (I have a terrible work schedule, minimal morning makeup time and looking to simplify as much as possible). I use Bare Minerals makeup, which usually has been good. But this winter, my skin has been breaking out more from stress/bad weather/bad diet and just generally looking dull. So that's when I started to go down the illuminating tinted-moisturizer route. Had actually tried the Tarte foundation, which is good but definitely a heavier look (I was looking more for illuminating/making me look less tired/covering up old blemish spots).I saw the Dr. Jart BB creme in the Sephora store today, and almost bought that...until one of the Sephora girls saw me in the Tarte section and said everyone loves the Tarte BB creme. Now I know why! I am a big doubter in general, and this is the REAL THING. OMG, my skin is AMAZING! I had to work tonight, so I took a shower and put it on ... expecting to need to put Bare Minerals foundation on on top of it. Nope, didn't need it! Not only is it a decent amount of coverage (I was expecting a bit lighter), but it is totally illuminating and lightweight. It is the absolute perfect combination of coverage, natural, and most of all, for the busy people out there -- easy!!I did apply my oil-free moisturizer under this b/c of reviews saying it was a bit drying ... so far, my skin feels very good.In case anyone looking for a similar skin type to mine -- I have very, very fair skin but went for the second lightest shade ("light") per store recommendation. I always have trouble with things blending/matching (including the Tarte foundation), and this literally melted in perfectly to my skin. (I read something about BB cremes oxidizing to match skin tone, and I guess this is what it is doing). I have combination skin (pretty dry everywhere with a bit more oily nose). Get small clogged pores on forehead or chin when stressed/eating poorly and a PMS zit on occasion (leaves the red mark on my fair skin). My skin looks pretty much perfect with this bb creme, AMAZING! I will not be able to live without this now!!And it sounds like of the bb cremes (I am just learning more about them after I googled this when I got home), tarte is the best.BUY THIS! You will not regret it!! « less

Blends well, longlasting, smooth
I am a 33 year old woman with extremely sensitive skin. My face has a few crinkles around the eyes, olive-green undertones, a pink scar from a biopsy, and patches of seborrhea and rosacea (both currently controlled so that you wouldn't know I have them unless I let my care routine slip). I never dreamed that something that is essentially a BB cream could give me enough coverage. I was really looking for a primer to wear under the Naked Urban Decay foundation that I purchased. My goal has always been to just even out my complexion without looking like I'm wearing makeup. The Naked foundation just looked sheer, and appeared to be sitting on top of my skin instead of blending in, despite various brushes and application techniques. So, when I bought the Tarte BB cream, I used it as a primer- Oh, what perfect skin it gave me! It feels like silk going on. I use my fingers because I love the sensation of smoothing this over my skin. I had discovered that I don't even need the foundation on top of this- I now wear this as my only face perfecting product, with just a bit of blush and highlight. It lasts all day for me, from 8 am to 7 pm. By 5-6 o'clock I've got a bit of dew, but the product stays in place. It does not crease or move on my oily skin. The MOST AMAZING part of this product is that it does not irritate my sensitive, seborrhea-prone skin with tiny areas of rosacea. I have worn it every day for 2 weeks without a single tingle/prickle/flake/etc. I even started letting it truly be my moisturizer, instead of layering it over La Roche Posay Rosaliac. So, my morning face = wash with Noble Zinc soap, apply a serum, and apply the Tarte BB Cream. Done. I am allergic to most sunscreens- the only normal sunscreen that I can wear on my face without issues is the Neutrogena Baby Pure face sunblock. Thankfully, this cream contains the same sunblock ingredients! My only wish is that I had gone with a shade darker. I have the shade "light", which looks dark when it comes out the tube. It does blend to a very light color. I can pull it off in the winter, but will have to buy the Medium for sure when summer comes. I also don't know how it will do during exercise/sweat- I usually run during my lunch breaks, but am injured right now. I would like for this to stay in place to provide sun protection during my midday runs- will have to test this out in a month when I'm allowed to work out again! P.S. I am buying this for my mother, I love it so much! User
Patchy, heavy, not smooth
I was so excited to try this product out as I love Tarte products. It is touted as "a primer, moisturizer, light foundation, anti-aging treatment and sunscreen." I thought that it sounded perfect for my needs! Sadly, that wasn't the case.I wore this product for a few hours before returning it. I have combination/fairly decent skin. My problem areas are redness, oily t-zone and I don't like seeing the pores on my nose.I applied this product to a clean face and then used Tarte's smooth operator finishing powder to set it. I have used A LOT of BB creams. This does not seem like a BB cream to me - it seems like a primer as the consistency is silicone. At first it felt heavy on my face (I do not like to feel my makeup), this effect slightly went away. If you are looking for creamy, try something else. I have a few dry patches and this BB cream made those areas stand out.Aside from helping to minimize the pores on my nose, I felt it didn't provide nearly as much coverage as the Tarte smooth operator BB cream/tinted moisurizer. The coverage was very fair/poor. For the price and amount of product you get I was expecting much better. I didn't like that with this product you can really feel the silicone in the consistency of the product. As for the 12 hour claim, I don't think that is accurate. I wore it for a few hours and it was fading from my semi-oily t-zone (mainly noticeable on my nose). For all this product is supposed to do I think it's really only good as a primer.I went with a different BB cream and am now happy! « less
