Holy Grail Liquid Foundation

I am a teacher and typically apply my makeup around 6 am on workdays. I moisturize with Tarte BaBa Bomb foundation on super dry days. On hot and humid days I start with only Tarte Base Tape moisturizing primer. I apply with a foundation brush and follow up with Tarte Shape Tape concealer under my eyes and loose powder. I also set my makeup with ELF setting spray. The coverage is medium to full, yet feels so comfortable on my skin. Truly doesn't feel like I am wearing a liquid foundation at all. Prior to this, I had worn IT Cosmetics Illuminating Celebration Foundation. It became too drying for my mid-forties peri menopausal skin. I normally tire of the time it typically takes to blend liquid foundation to an airbrushed finish. Achieving #skingoals of beautiful, glowing, and airbrushed coverage is simple with Foundcealer. I get compliments on my skin often (even before this foundation) and am often believed to be many years younger than my 47 year old reality. Foundcealer has truly improved my skin. I was skeptical about this Tarte claim when I purchased the product, but it is absolutely true. The shade range includes 30 shades and 27N Light-Medium Neutral was a spot-on match for me. The color stays true and does not oxidize. I do not have time to touch up my makeup all day at work and this makeup still looks flawless 12 hours later. I love the packaging. The one piece bottle with the twist up pump is genius and sanitary. It saves me from setting a goopy foundation cap on my vanity or from simply losing the cap completely as I normally do with pump foundations. The only two drawbacks are Foundcealer's propensity to transfer without being set with loose powder. Full baking is not necessary, a simple dusting will do the trick. The price is high but in line with the cost of the average prestige brand. I love that Tarte is a cruelty free brand. This is the foundation I have been searching for ever since my skin type changed from combo to dry. Will purchase over and over. Less

Absolutely Love This Foundation

I had received a sample of this in a Sephora Play box and I was hooked from first use. I walked into Ulta the next day to pick it up in full-size because I was absolutely impressed with this foundation. It's a very lightweight formula that blends seamlessly and beautifully. Tarte gives tips to achieve light or medium coverage (for light coverage use your fingers and medium, use a beauty sponge or brush), which shows the versatility of the foundation. I've been using my fingers to apply this the majority of the time because I achieve amazing coverage with the tiniest amount. This is so lightweight and it doesn't feel like I'm wearing any foundation at all. It covers up any 'imperfections', covers any dark circles and evens out my skin. I love that when I'm finished applying, it looks so natural. Even when I built it up for medium coverage, it still feels like I'm not wearing any foundation nor gives a heavy, cakey appearance. This has been perfect for the summertime, especially since I live in a tropical environment and summer humidity usually isn't friendly towards makeup. This, however stays put all day, without breaking up/separating, as it doesn't just sit on my skin, but works almost like a second skin. I cannot stop raving about this foundation and always recommend this to family and friends. Tarte knocked it out of the park with this one! Less

Pure disappointment

I used to LOVE tarte. I swore by the brand! I bought everything up until they released this and the shape tape spray. I got the spray first after waiting a while to buy it, and I hatedddd it. No matter how I tried to spray it, it was NOT misty and left marks and dots all over my makeup. It felt and smelled gross. Compared to urban decay's all nighter which is what I normally use, tarte's spray is trash. Then I waited forever to buy this foundation and when I finally did oh boy... I've never been so disappointed with foundation and I've tried all of tarte's. This one goes on and feels like nothing but oil, you don't look dewy you look WET. It's sooo hard to blend and build up. I have normal to combination skin. Not too dry but not too oily. My skin has been doing better than usual so I really thought this foundation would look good. It's so sad to be disappointed after step two of your makeup routine (step one being primer of course). I used too faced hangover primer which is what I alwaysss use with my tarte foundations and never had a problem before. I'll try my tarte primers and see what happens. I even set with powder after and it did NOT help whatsoever. It oxidized all over my face and itched my skin the entire time it was on. I wasn't able to fill in the area around my nose properly like I always do so that looked all creased and not done right. It wrinkled and creased in areas I don't have wrinkles or anything. I'm just sooo disappointed with everything tarte releases nowadays. And now they have that stupid glow wand out that looks incredibly pointless. Idk how people make this foundation work, it's just too oily. I've used more foundations than I could count including ones with spf and have never ever had a problem like this. The hype ain't worth anything anymore Less

My new holy grail foundation

This is amazing for dry skin or combination skin. Before I used the tarte Rainforest of the Sea foundation (ROS for short) and it was nice too. The big different between these two is not only the skincare infused foundation vs a water based foundation, but also the shade differences. I use the shade 16S Fair-light sand, the ROS i noticed would oxidize a little bit lighter but nothing a little bronzer couldn't fix. The foundcealer was definitely thw shade shade as the one in the picture and in the bottle. I did not see it go lighter or darker after an hour, it matched me perfectly. I did not notoce any particular smell and my partner would have picked up on that. They would have said "babe, your makeup smells different,"but nope, they did not say a single thing. The texture is more of a thick liquid vs something like the ROS foundation which is so watery and runny. I apply the foundation with my fingers and yes it is light coverage, but it is more of that light to medium coverage, so to say it is light coverage only by using fingers was a big of a lie. I used my fingers and got a light 5o medium coverage, which I personally love. I can see my freckles a bit and some beauty marks but it can cover of of those little pesky blemishes but jot completely. I used a brush and definitely got a medium coverage. That part, very very accurate but personally myself I am not a big, big fan of medium coverage for everyday but I know others are. I hope I explained the coverage questions which I know is defnintely on someone's mind. It does transfer a teeny, tiny bit if you do not powder it or blot it but whatever, that is something that happens with most dewyish foundations. This is definitely that dewy, satin finish foundation. Not a super glossy, wet foundation but no where near a matte finish. To me it is a satin finish, no high shine and not super matte, but you can make it matte by powdering it or dewy by spraying a dewy setting spray, 10 outta 10, highly recommend. « less

I got samples of this and a little goes a LONG way if you’re a natural gal (and I have lots of cheek redness!). If you use the right primer this stuff lasts ALL DAY and looks bomb. I have dry skin and setting it with powder was a no-no...while it looked BOMB at first, later in the day it brings on dry patches. Wear it alone or only set your under eyes. Other than that, I have a new holy grail! 💕

I need a good hydrating, full coverage concealer. I’ve been using the tarte 16 hour wear, although it is hydrating, it isn’t giving me the coverage that I want. I have dry, very sensitive, and acne prone skin. I have tried other concealers such as maybelline, but it still gives my skin that dry patchy look even though I have a heavy moisturizer on. I would like to be able to have it match my skin tone since I don’t wear makeup as much. I need some recommendations!!

I was having the same issue and had tried so many different products, yet nothing was working too well due to dehydration! After doing some research here I found this and went to Ulta to try it, i absolutely loved it! I bought it and I’m so happy with the results! I know you asked for a concealer, but this is a “Foundcealer” and I feel as though it works amazing!!
