Blends well, natural, smooth
I was on looking at their selection of all natural make-up and skin care when I came across the brand, Tarte. I've heard of it, but didn't know anything about it, so I looked into the company more and liked what I saw. So much so that I bought this product. Now this product is my new favorite product in my make-up box. What I love about **Tarte Smooth Operator Tinted Moisturizer **is....EVERYTHING. It's made with all natural ingredients, is paraben-free, contains SPF 20, is oil-free and comes in a plethora of shades to choose from, so there's a color for almost everyone. It's a moisturizer, so it moisturizes your skin, but it's tinted, so it provides color too. This product leaves my face feeling perfectly moisturized. My skin doesn't feel heavy or coated, just hydrated and healthy. It rubs in effortlessly and doesn't leave streaks on my face. The coverage it provides is light-medium, but it is buildable. I tend to apply it generously to add a little color and my face still doesn't feel greasy or oily. If I wanted, I could apply 3 applications, and it would cover skin close to how a foundation would. I still have to apply concealer to problem areas, but my face has a smooth, even tone to it that I love. It gives me just the right amount of color too. It doesn't look caked on, it just looks really pretty.I also love that **Tarte Smooth Operator Tinted Moisturizer **contains SPF 20. I like knowing that when I leave the house, I'm already wearing *some *sunscreen and I didn't even have to apply it!I honestly don't have one negative thing to say about this product. Yes, it's a little pricey, but it's all natural and trust me, you get what you pay for with this product. Try it, you won't be disappointed! « less

Blends well, natural, lightweight
Exactly what I was looking for. Backstory- I used to wear full coverage ALL the time. It was all or nothing. Lately I've been going all natural but I've been wanting to have just a little something for some coverage for special events. I have combo skin that's sometimes pretty dry and often kinda oily in some areas. I also have some pretty bad acne scarring, uneven skin tone in general with redness around my nose and cheeks. I finally got to really test this product to the limit today. I applied it with a smaller synthetic buffing brush. I usually use a sponge but since this is already on the sheer side of coverage I went with the brush. It blends like a DREAM. I used 2 large dots and 2 small dots, not a lot of product is necessary. It blended like a DREAM. I used it over top of the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea hydrating mist after it dried a little, no other primer. Only complaint is I got the wrong shade, my error. It gave me a nice sheer coverage that looked like a "second skin". It wasn't flawless, you could still see some of my darker scars, so I spot concealed those. I had a beautiful natural looking glow that I've always hoped for but couldn't achieve with cakey, heavy foundation. I didn't even set anything because I wanted to see how it wore. Used the Tarte Aquacealer under my eyes and to spot conceal. I wore this foundation for 8 hours, and it still looked good, even in 90 degree heat, sweating, playing with my toddler. It rubbed off a little but it wore off really nicely and didn't look patchy, streaky or anything. No creasing, crackling or settling. I had to touch up around my oiliest area -- my nose... but it didn't look bad it just started to feel greasy. I will set around that area and under my eyes with powder in the future but honestly if you're on the drier side you might not even need to! Amazing product, far exceeded my expectations. And I'm SO glad it's a vegan, cruelty free product!

Natural, drying, not smooth
I am someone who believes strongly in the correlation between the health of one's skin and the products one puts on it. I try to use the most natural products possible while still choosing ones that work as well as (or better than!) their chemically-laden counterparts. I really wanted to try the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer because of all the positive reviews, but once I was in the store I opted for this product since it's more "natural". It's an okay product, though I definitely did not get the result I was hoping for. It seems to have a chalky consistency and just sits on my skin, making it look dry and flaky when in reality I have very oily skin that's certainly not lacking in the "hydration" department. I chose Agent 08 because that was the closest shade to my skin, but it still isn't close enough. That's the great battle with a tinted moisturizer: finding something with enough color to actually make skin appear more even and smoother, but also finding something sheer enough that looks natural and not cakey. This does not fit the bill. I didn't realize how cakey this product actually is until one day my boyfriend and I went for the walk while staying in Paris. Once we got outside he exclaimed, "I didn't even notice you put on makeup this morning!" When I told him I wasn't wearing anything, he said it looked like I have an awful mask of powder on that didn't match my skin tone. I checked a mirror and realized it was this moisturizer, and he was was so unnatural looking! Next time, I'll opt for a product that might not be as "natural" (chemically-wise) but actually works.

Compared to other bb & cc creams, the ingredients in this product contain a larger number of acne producing chemicals.
