- Sephora User

this eyeline goes on like silk, waterproof, smudgeproof, outlast any liner i have ever tried and the colors are amazing

precise application

i use an angled precision cat-eye liner brush and it works great

- Sephora User

allowing for razor-sharp precision with the flat headed brush, this product allows smooth lines, though it can also be applied with the finger for a smudged, late night look

Finally, I can line my eyes again!

I'm so blind and I only wear my prescription glasses 99.99999% of the time as I also need bifocals. Even with a 10x mirror I can not see what I am doing unless I have my glasses on. I am less adept at lining than when I was in my 20s, a bit shaky. On top of all that I have oily eyes and most stuff just smears if not initially, definitely by mid-day. I have tried all kinds of stuff, pencils, waterproof, the pens, other gels, liquid and yuck. If I could get my right eye decent, the left one was a disaster as it was even harder for me to see. If I could get both eyes decent, they would end up smearing. I haven't worn liner in years because of this. Then I found Stila Smudge Pots and the Sephora Pro Angled Liner Brush #15 (shorter black handle). These two in combo have made the difference where none other could. Not only is it easy to line my eyes close to the upper lash line, it lasts all day. I also like to smoke out the line, which you can do once you first get it on, move a bit fast. Once it's dry it stays in place. I've also lined the bottom outer corners and smoke it out, no raccoon eyes, ever! I chose the grey color as it gives my eyes enough oomph without making me look harsh. You get so much in this little pot. It will last me ages. LOVE it! Wish they had a purple.

best. eyeliner. ever.

I'm only exaggerating a little when I say that this product changed my life. Until I discovered gel liners, it was IMPOSSIBLE to find anything that could stay on my oily eyelids for anything longer than a couple of hours without smudging. and this is when i wear liner on my upper eyelid, not the bottom ... and nothing stood a chance on the waterline. And believe me, I did my research, read reviews, tried all the great smudge/water proof pencils (UD 24/7, Make Up For Ever, ...) to no avail.Enter the Smudge Pot. I was a little hesitant at first because I am really bad with liquid eyeliners -- I apply this with the Smashbox angled liner and it's super easy. Glides right on, very pigmented, LASTS ALL DAY. I can go to the gym and it'll still look halfway decent after I sweat for an hour. What I find is that it doesn't smudge down (raccoon eyes) and if anything it just kind of fades away, which is prefect.Since my first purchase of the grey, I've picked up at least 5 other ones (some fun colours that aren't available on the Sephora website too). Used all of them as a liner and NOT shadows, with the exception of kitten which is gorgeous on the lids. You do want to keep the lids on pretty tight, one pot lasts forever but it does tend to dry out easily.Girls who have been cursed with oily eyelids ... do yourself a favour and get this product ASAP! « less

Not too black/shiny, not too hard to put on!

I am lucky to have good eyes and eyelashes into my mid-50s. But, the new fad of inside the eye lining was more diff for me...and I have to wear the latest looks, even at my age. At first, I tried an expensive waterproof liquid liner to do the inside rims. It got into the eyes easily and even when I thought I'd done at great job, it would "crack" and the lining would break up after a few hours. Then I tried a moderately priced gel liner, the brown was too reddish and the black very bluish. It seemed to NOT stay in place long, despite claims to the opp in its advertising. This liner was aging as it was almost patent like and very thin in its delivery. But, the Stila smudge pot is very thick and matte and, with the correct short handled/slant tipped EYELINER brush, you can have it on in seconds and IT DOES STAY IN PLACE ALL DAY. Now, even us older GIRLS can have the perf smokey eye with that great whites of the eye popping inner liner that doesn't look too garish. Use a good eye makeup remover to take it off, though. « less

I love this product. it out-performs any cream or gel eyeliner I've tried- and I've tried quite a few. it is absolutely packed with pigment so you can use the smallest amount for a more subdued day look. just 'tap' the liner along the upper lash line, close to your lashes, to emphasize your eyes without looking 'made up.' and if you want a dramatically lined or 'evening' eye, you've got it. Cleopatra would have loved this liner! one pot lasts forever, too. just be sure to keep your container TIGHTLY closed, and keep it away from heat and light. get yourself some good artificial bristle brushes, like Sephora's Professional Brushes #15 and #17. one is an angled brush, the other a 'traditional' pointy round lining brush; some prefer one to the other for application of creme/gel liners. practice applying the liner, and you'll soon become a pro. [make sure you have a good waterproof eye makeup remover on hand- I like Sephora Brand FACE Waterproof remover- as Smudge Pot liner really stays put. saturate a cotton pad with remover, and press against the eye. then blot with a fresh cotton pad to complete removal.] this product glides on smoothly- no tugging or pulling. I also like to line the inside rim of my lower lid with this product, and it has not irritated my sensitive eyes. and, best of all: it really stays put. did I mention that I love this eyeliner? « less

What I like most about this product is the color. The way each of the colors looks in the pot is the way the color looks when applied. As a liner, I do not like Stila Smudge Pots because it is NOT smudge proof. A few hours after application, the liner tends to gets into the creases of my eyes and/or run down the sides, and give me raccoon eyes. These Smudge Pots are not waterproof, crease resistant, or longwearing. Another con: the glass jars are not as airtight as the description claims, so the gel dries out pretty quickly (within a few months after opening). On the other hand, the consistency of this product is smooth and creamy. Also, these Smudge Pots are pretty good eyeshadow bases (any of the Smudge Pots can be used as a base on eyelids to intensify any dramatic or smokey eye). However, I probably will not buy this product again. « less
