it is my favorite everyday eyeshadow, i feel it would look great on many different skin tones and it stays put all day and night long with the too faced shadow insurance glitter glue primer (my fave primer

does not have fallout

i love that it goes on smooth and no fall out

sheer

it goes on sheer and is buildable, so you can even use it sparingly during the day and have a natural look

- Sephora User

some shades, however, such as key, dune and grace, are rather sheer, so it's a case of hit-and-miss with regards to pigmentation on the rare occasion that there is an unpigmented pan

Possibly the finest eye pigment on the market

I confess: am an expensive, high-end eyeshadow/pigment junkie. Think of all the most expensive designer names you have ever seen in Sephora, in the department stores, in boutiques, and online, and understand that I have them all. Stila has impressed me the most, by far. I wore Kitten as a full-lid base on my wedding day, June of 2008. I still have that same shadow, and it is still one of the highest quality colors I have ever own (way past the expiration date, ya think?). I am shocked by how long this thin little wafer has lasted, but a little goes a way! Yesterday I bought two new colors, and I wore TERRACOTTA tonight for the first time. I went out with my 15-year-old daughter who had her makeup done to the 9's, and I couldn't believe how many compliments I received on this color. While in the cosmetics department of a high-end department store a woman (stranger/shopper) literally called out to me from about 15 feet away that she LOVED my eye makeup. This has never happened to me in 39 years! I was meandering about this high-end department store's brand counter seeking a specific line of products that Sephora does not carry, and the sales associate helping me made several flattering comments about my eyeshadow; she asked me what sort of primer I had used, and I confessed "NONE." It has been my experience that Stila does not need a base on the flesh--it stays-put all day, all night, with no fuss, no muss. I have been occasionally using a smoky technique lately while experimenting with various liners, bases/primers, and pigment colors, so today I simply placed the Terracotta alone on my top lid from the lash line up past the crease (corner-to-corner), and then gentle blended it out and up until it faded into my skin tone before reaching my brows. The effect was striking. I have done this with so many shades, but this was the first time I have not had to first create a base out of black pencil mixed with concealer on the back of my hand and applying this mixture to my lid between the lashes and the crease (this technique makes the smoky look strong, bold, and serious). Stila's pigment is so intense it is bold and "popping" without the primer I need with other pigments. At this moment I have been wearing the color for 8.5 hours, I have been a little sweaty for the last hour (and I was running around a mall earlier, so I was a little misty off-and-on all night), and I swear, this pigment looks as fresh as if I just applied it 10 minutes ago. No creasing, no fading, no smudging. no smearing. I'll be sad to wash it off!

I love this eye shadow, excellent for quick application when getting ready in a rush and it looks amazing!! It applies smoothly, and blends easily. Great color, high pigment, silky texture, crease resistant, and long lasting. Highly recommend.

What happened to the perfect eyeshadow???

a couple of months ago I started using my new pan of Stila Kitten eyeshadow and first off I noticed that something had changed with the product - eyeshadow "dust" between the top of my cheekbones and brownline; doesn't stay in place all day like it use to and now I get a slight crease by the end of the day. To make matters worse, while on vacation last week, I opened my makeup bag to get my eyeshadow and opened it to only find that the entire contents had turned into a completely usless fine powdery mess of "Kitten" dust!! Absolutely no way of salvaging it, I had to immediately throw it away!!I received a free sample a couple of years ago and fell in love with this eyeshadow and subsequently purchased it again - great staying power; absolutely no creases; and no glitterly dust all over my face.Has this product been reformulated? Is is the new packaging? I didn't have this problem with the old compact.I am reordering Kitten and giving it one more try before being saying I am completely disappointed. At least this time I will be able to return it if I have the same problems. Less

First time buyer, now a Stila convert

This is my first venture into higher-end cosmetics. My typical eyeshadows come from the grocery store and retail for $4 for a quad. Cheeeap. And it showed. Yet I continued to wear them, because I was used to them and had been wearing them since college. Now that I'm settled in to my job and am in a better financial place, I decided to splurge a bit on cosmetics. People seem to LOVE Stila eyeshadows, so I this was a good place to start. Was it worth the extra cost? You bet. The difference in texture, pigment, and staying power was like night and day. You get what you pay for! :)I got: Dune - great base for layeringTwig - thought it would be too red, but was perfect once applied and blendedEspresso - great brownish grey on my skinKitten - wonderful sheer shimmer! I love this color!Intend to purchase: Chinchina(med.brown) and Sajama (dark grey) Matte colors to complete my shadow wardrobe! « less

The best in eyeshadows

Stila eyeshadows are my favourite of all the brands I've tried. They're highly pigmented, blendable, crease-free, long-lasting and soft like butter! Some shades, however, such as key, dune and grace, are rather sheer, so it's a case of hit-and-miss with regards to pigmentation on the rare occasion that there is an unpigmented pan. So far, colors that I've tried that have turned out to be really pigmented are Kitten, Cloud, Puppy (now DC'ed), Espresso, Nude, Icon, Twig, Lame, Oasis, Coin, Moonlight, Chinois. For cool-toned girls I especially recommend shades like Cloud and Espresso, while for warm toned girls I think Oasis, Coin, Twig and Icon make great introductions to the line. Other colours like Nude and Moonlight are rather universal. These are really the best type of eyeshadows I've tried, and I'm forever converted! Less
