Does not do anything it promises

I read the reviews before purchasing and had hoped I would have better luck, but not so much. I rarely give a bad review because I always assume products like this will not work for me because nothing has yet, but this primer did not even work as a primer, hence the single star. It is thick and chunky, but as long as you rub it together before applying it goes on okay. It stayed matte for makeup application, but my face was as oily as usual within an hour. Until I signed on to do this review, I forgot it was even pore minimizing, which tells you how much it did nothing for my pores. My biggest complaint is the primer portion; I feel like it literally repels my CC cream from my skin, especially around the nose. Obviously it works great for some people, but I would highly suggest avoiding it if you have truly oily skin. The only positive I found was that it did not make my acne prone skin breakout. I have been using it for a few weeks, in hopes I would see better results over time but nothing has changed. It is too expensive for it's complete lack of results. Less

works great!

I didn't buy this product my pores, though it was a big plus. This worked great on under my makeup. I have super oily skin and I have a hard time finding a product that will last all day without shine. This worked so well. I was used to checking my face throughout the day at work to blot oil etc. I was very happy and surprised that I didn't have to do it while wearing this. My face looked great all day. This really worked for my oily skin. It does go on a little dry and seems heavy at first but with oily skin, that's OK. It blends in fine after. No problems. Had to get used to it at first after expecting something different. Love this product.

YES!!!

I almost never write reviews, but I absolutely had to for this. I have acneic, oily skin with large pores pretty much everywhere. I have never found a primer that has reduced the look of my pores and kept me matte without causing my makeup to slide around. The texture of this primer is not your typical silicone, slippery texture. It is much thicker and has more of a tacky feel. The product sinks into your skin and does not sit on top like other silicone primers. Your skin immediately feels smooth and matte and the size of your pores appear reduced, but it does NOT make your skin feel super tight and dry. I would recommend this primer for people with combination to oily skin. It really lasts too! Plus, it makes my smile lines appear not has deep as well. This product is definitely pricey, but it is definitely worth the investment. It doesn't matter what kind of makeup you put on, if your base isn't on point, your makeup definitely won't be either. Smashbox, you've found another loyal customer!

Exactly as described

If you have visible pores and uneven skin texture, then this is the primer for you! You can see a difference as soon as you put it on, and a little goes a long way. Just like all Smashbox primers it helps your makeup go on smoother and stay in place longer, in addition to taking care of pores and rough skin texture. If you have dry skin, I would recommend a moisturizer underneath first, or to only use it in the areas where you need it most (nose, chin, forehead etc.). Overall, an excellent addition to the Smashbox primer collection.

I've never written a review but....

I received a sample of the Photo Finish Foundation Primer with an order of BareMinerals goodies from Sephora about a year ago. I wish I'd tried it sooner!!! I ran out of my BareMinerals primer and rustled up my sample of the Photo Finish Primer to use in a pinch. I LOVED IT! I have combination skin (my t-zone gets really oily throughout the day but my cheeks and sometimes my chin tend to dry out a bit) and I also have larger pores....a combination that sadly makes my beloved BareMinerals settle into my pores and slide off my nose. Ew. The Photo Finish smoothed out my skin and left it feeling fresh, clean, and a little moisturized. I was nervous that it was going to make my t-zone even oilier than usual, but it kept my BareMinerals looking fresh and matte all day long without drying out the more sensitive areas of my skin. It also made my BareMinerals last much longer and also made it look much more smooth. This is definitely the best primer that I've ever used! I also like that you can buy it with different tints AND in different sizes which is really convenient and says a lot about Smashbox as a brand...they are very detail oriented and they aim to please. I'm a convert! « less

What is a good primer for pores and oily skin. I know to use a silicone base primer and foundation. But i like a full coverage base. Any recommendations? -my main area issue is around my mouth, and chin. My current foundation and concealer is from Juvias Place. Ive tired the benefit porefessional, smashbox photofinish primer, baby skin from maybelline and hardcandy pore-defense.

I’m #lookingfor a new #foundation that doesn’t show my pores, it seems like no matter what I do w primer & stuff my pores are alwaysss visible after foundation & I just really want a good pore filling foundation that is also p full coverage & not super duper matte but buildable w concealer. Preferably on the inexpensive side ?

Have you tried the photo finish primer. I find this is great at minimizing pores.

What’s the best primer for oily skin and that covers pores? I use the milk makeup blur stick and it works wonders it really hours out my pores but it makes me oily quickly I also put some in a blotting sheet and the sheet became clear 😔

Not sure your routine, but because you are oily skin make sure to moisturizer before hand to prevent your oils over producing! Otherwise this is a great primer for both oily skin and pores!
