Does what it says

I find the light-medium coverage of this product enough for me. I have some blemishes scars, but not enough to justify a full-coverage product which normally just feels cakey and heavy on me. I use primer underneath this product, which helps with the coverage. Without primer, I think you'd be ok but it's just not as good especially if you have some breakouts/scars going on.I like the lightweight product and there is plenty in there. I like the spin-wheel that only disperses enough product as you require so that you get fresh product each time you use it.This is long wearing makeup, but I find my t-zone gets a bit shiny at the end of the day, so I just blot that area with a kleenex or paper towel that that seems to do the trick. Since my skin is dry, I don't feel the need to spend money on blotting papers. And the shininess occurs after 10 hours of wear. Not exactly earth-shattering oil production on my face.Anyway, this is a good product for people with dry skin and those who do not require full coverage. It's a good daily makeup. I wear it without foundation as I find long-lasting liquids and creams start to feel super greasy on my face after a few hours. Less

WOW, worth every penny!!!

I was a little skeptical at first since I love my bare escentuals foundation, and because this is considerably more pricy, but I am sooo glad I made the change!!! The difference is unreal. First, I love that you can "cut" as much as you need, as opposed to it getting messy, and going all over the place. I used a little bit, and on my first use I noticed the great way it looks soo natural, and gives me this subtle glow, but is also matte. It doesn't cake at all the way bare escentuals does sometimes if you put a little more on. I have very weird skin, its oily, but I also have ezcema, and its sensitive. Bare escentuals I felt would give me a "dry" look, but because it was so drying, my skin would end up getting more oily later. This stuff almost completely eliminated my oiliness problem. I think its because it is, hydrating, so my skin doesn't produce as much oil. weird, I know, but my dermatologist told me that as a person with sensitive but oily skin, products meant to dry skin will actually make it more oily.. Im also an extremely light shade of olive, and have a had time finding stuff that blends with my skin, this looked completely natural. My friend who is Indian, and has a much deeper skin tone than me uses it too, and loves it. Definitely worth the money, much better product than bare escentuals, (althought they are also good), if you have troubled skin I highly, highly recommend this. And you fet twice as much as you would with Bare Escentuals, so I wouldnt stress about the price. I also use way less of this stuff on my face than I did with BE. Amazing, I am hooked! « less

Works quite well depending on your needs...

and how you use it. Let me start by saying I have very fair sensitive combination skin that leans oily in the summer and normal in the winter and is also break out prone skin and this powder makes me break out and is a touch too dark for my skin. The fair is more like fairly light in be, not the fair. Plus it does change color mid-day, not to mention that it makes me an oil slick even in the winter mid-day depending on how I use it, and you will need to touch up for those reasons alone.I like that you shave it down. It seems hygienic, not sure if it actually is. At first I thought it would be less messy than be, but it isn't. Sometimes you shave too much. You will have to dump the excess every time or else it will be messy like other mineral powders. I also do not like the way the lid closes. If you drop it, messy and the lid breaks easily. On to coverage. If you have good skin that does not need much coverage, this will be all you need. If you have dark circles, sun damage, acne, acne scarring, redness, etc; you will need to use something else. If you have an uneven skin tone, you will need to use a foundation other than this. I had been a be user for about a decade+. I just wasn't liking how it was laying on my aging skin anymore. I decided to try this. I tried it many ways, not liking any enough to continue using it. I need more coverage than it provides on its own. It made my skin an oil slick (that only washing would help) over liquids. Over be, seemed caked on at first, but by lunch time looked much better (except for yellowness from the powder). I would reapply halo about every three hours in order to avoid the color change and oil slick face. If I stayed up on it, it would look good. I just don't think it is worth it. I never even tried it in the summer just fall, winter, and spring.I will not buy this again for my skin. If I had normal to dry skin that was fairly light or darker I would try it again. If I had good skin, or if I was looking for a hydrating finishing powder. Other than that, not again. Less

Great!

i've been looking for a foundation for quite some time now. I have combo skin (t-zone that gets oily at the drop of a hat and dry cheeks) so it's been kind of difficult. I tried matte foundations, bb creams and I wasn't happy with anything. One of the sales associates recommended this when I said I wanted something light for every day wear and she recommended this.Let me just say, I LOVE this foundation. It's light but you can also build it up. I like minimal coverage because i have relatively good, clear skin with the random blemish. I hate feeling like I'm wearing foundation and most foundations suffocate my skin. This stuff is very god sent for me. I'm Indian and I tried the medium and the medium to deep, ended up going with the medium. Definitely try this out in person as the shade choice is minimal. There's quite a bit of powder in the case and a little goes a long way for me so I think it's worth the price tag. I use it with the smash box primer and Urban decay setting spray and it has given me a flawless look that has lasted all day. There was none of that color changing either. So, if you're looking for a nice powder foundation give this a try! It is buildable so you can go from light to heavy coverage. I've been recommending this to everyone I know! « less

oh. my. goodness.

I love this makeup. Since I found out I had a reaction to bismuth oxychloride, which is in BE stuff, I have been searching for a mineral foundation that had the same kind of staying power and buildable coverage. I'm so glad I tried this! At first, I balked at the price of this, and went for the cheaper Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Fresh Powder makeup, but wasn't happy with the coverage--it was too sheer, so I took it back and got this instead--decided to bite the bullet. I put it on with the BE baby kabuki brush, and for any imperfections (I have some spider veining around the corners of my mouth and my nose, some healing acne spots, and REALLY dark undereye circles) I use the BE max coverage concealer brush. Using this powder with these two brushes, the only place I even still need concealer is under the eyes! Halo is a bit shiny, so sometimes I dust my forehead and nose with a translucent mattifying powder, sometimes I like the glowy look it gives. Seeing myself in the mirror, my first thought was, wow, my skin looks angelic. I waited a couple of weeks to make sure it wasn't just the afterglow of a new product making me love it, and sure enough, I still love it just as much as Day 1. Halo really evens out my complexion--the slight redness on my cheeks and around my nose, and the kind of sallow color on my forehead and chin blend into an even, creamy tone. I don't know about the hydration benefits (I have oily skin, so it's pretty much always "hydrated," most times way too much so) but I do know that it has not dried out my face at all like some powders can. As far as the anti-aging benefits, I've noticed no great difference, but then, I've only been using it a couple of weeks, so maybe it'll start showing later. Either way, I give this five stars for the absolutely beautiful coverage, lightweight wear, and ingenious packaging. I will definitely buy this again. Totally worth the money. Less

Any recommendations on foundation powders that won't layer on as heavy or cakey? I want to add one to my makeup routine to reduce my setting powder slight white finish, but don't really know when or where to use it so i'm also looking for tips!!

I’ve had issues with loose powders making my skin look dried out, and I’ve also had issues with flashback. I’m pretty sure the issue is with my powder (even though I try to avoid talc) so does anyone have a fav loose powder or one that they swear by?

This is a beautiful powder for a glowey skin look! Great for baking too. Idk a good one for matte skin cause I like this one cause it doesn’t look too powdery
