staying power

longlasting

it lasted an entire work day for me (8 hours), and about 10 hours in total

- Sephora User

i love this product, i recently went to the beach and it lasted all day even when the rain caught us

- Sephora User

mattifying

mattifying

this bb cream is definitely oil controlling - my really oily face stays naturally matte for hours - without ever having that powdery look of other mattifying foundations

- Sephora User

i have combination skin and it's nice and mattifying

- Sephora User

weight

lightweight

coverage is light to medium, it feels really light (as if you have nothing on your face), and most of all, it matches my skintone perfectly

- Sephora User

it's very light weight and my face looks amazing after putting this stuff on

- Sephora User

color correction

color correcting

it blends well (i use concealer and color corrector under it with no problems), and gives your skin a nice even tone

- Sephora User

i've paired mine with smashbox photofinish color correcting primer and covered my t-zone with mally evercolor poreless face defender to keep me from getting too dewy and it's all fantastic

- Ulta User

texture

smooth

i loved the natural look, and smooth appearance of my skin

- Smashbox User

it makes my skin look dewy and flawless when i'm wearing it; when i'm not wearing it, my skin is incredibly soft and smooth

- Sephora User

brightness

brightening

now, when i wear it under my makeup (always bare minerals) it does many, many amazing things: 1) primes (no longer have to buy primer), 2) acts as under-eye concealer/brightener (no longer buy that as well), 3) soaks up oil and creates a mate finish, 4) keeps my makeup looking perfect hours longer, and 5) hydrates (i still use moisturizer, but this makes it go further)

- Sephora User

while i have never spent so much money on foundation before i am truly impressed with how natural looking it is and radiant it makes my skin

- Sephora User

color accuracy

doesn't oxidize

i used this for a birthday party i was going to and it stayed all night long, didn't oxidize and matched my skin tone perfectly, and it wasn't patchy at all (i used a beauty blender) really recommend this

- Sephora User

it did not oxidize and it stayed on for 12 hours plus

- Macy's User

pore minimizing

pore minimizing

when i'm wearing this it looks like my natural skin, i use the it cosmetics bye bye pores pressed powder to lightly set and my skin looks like its naturally beautiful

- Sephora User

it really helps fill in your pores and enhances your natural skin tone

- Sephora User

blendability

blends well

it's best with beauty blender

- Ulta User

i love wearing this because it blends so nicely with my skin, and lasts through my occasional twelve-hour work days

- Sephora User

hydration

hydrating

here's why i'm in love though: it is a primer, wrinkle corrector, evens out pigmentation, hydrates, protects from the sun, evens out oily skin, makes my skin look healthy, stays put, and i can wear it in summer or winter and it looks/feels great

- Smashbox User

fell in love that this was the first product i could find that gave me my foundation appearance, just without drying out my skin like a foundation would

- Ulta User

finish

demi-matte

your skin looks like skin and has this demi-matte finish

- Ulta User

it does leave a semi matte finish and the primer inside this bb does a good job to blur imperfections

- Sephora User

coverage

medium coverage

this bb cream allows a coverage similar to a medium coverage foundation and it moisturizes my skin perfectly without leaving it oily or irritating it

- Sephora User

it's about medium coverage an very natural a little goes a long way

Perfect product!

I have been using Smashbox's tinted moisturizer for about a year and was excited to see they made a BB cream (I have been wanting to try one for a while now) so I replaced the T.M., which was very nice, for the BB cream and I am VERY happy I did! I feel this gives me better coverage (depending on how much I put on, but since I don't have bad skin I only use a little- about a pearl size drop- which still covers my whole face, and I "pat" it on, not spread or smear it on) and it blends with my complexion a lot nicer as well (fair) without leaving an oily feeling on my skin. I can actually feel my skin absorb the product leaving a lovely matte finish with a hint of glow. It does last a long time like it says. I wash my face around 11pm and I can see it's still going strong!!! I have an oily T-zone, and this does help with that, but it doesn't completely block the oils all day, but oil absorbing sheets help a great deal for that and the product stays put even after using one. I can honestly say this stuff does what it says and you wont regret buying it. If you go into Sephora for it, have them do a "color match" for you to get the right color for your skin.. and remember it absorbs so when you first put it on it will not be the color it is supposed to be till about 5-10 min. after. Its light and looks very natural.. it evens out the skin tone very nicely and any red areas on your face, like around the nose, but blemishes might need a little more concealer still. Also, helps with dark circles a bit to! And it's GOOD for your skin, which my skin tone does look more even since using it.. also the added bonus of UVA/UVB 35 which is highly recommend now! :D Get it!! « less

This makeup cleared my skin!

I had extremely dry, sensitive skin before using this product with tons of tiny acne bumps all over my face that are barely noticable unless you look realy closely, or unless my skin is shiny and the light directly hits it. I need a light makeup that can basically correct my uneven, reddish skintone from all the dryness without making my face look cakey and this makeup certainly did the trick! I use it along with the smashbox photo finish primer and it looks flawles all day until I go to bed! In addition it has SPF, which I love! The great thing about this makeup is that when I started using it, all my tiny acne bumps went away, and my skin became less dry and the color became more even, so my skin looked great even without makeup! I was never expecting this from any type of makeup, so that's what made me fall head over heels for smashbox bb cream! My skin looks better than it ever has before! It is somewhat difficult for me to apply with my fingers or with a foundation brush but I have yet to find an easy liquid makeup to apply on my tight, dry skin. I think that all my tiny acne bumps were due to dry skin cells clogging my pores, and the makeup somehow moisturized and repaired my skin like it said, which maybe caused my tiny acne bumps to dissapear. Overall, I LOVE this product and I would reccomend it to anyone who needs a mild to medium coverage with dry, sensitive, uneven skin. Get the primer too, it's worth the money! Usually I don't buy brand name makeup just because of the price but this stuff is SO WORTH IT! BUY IT!!!

Probably the Best One Out There

First of all, if you're buying this expecting the same coverage as a foundation, you'll be disappointed. I don't understand why people buy tinted moisturizers and bb creams thinking they'll give this amazingly full coverage when that's not what they're intended to do! True, the Asian BB creams are much better when it comes to coverage, but most on the US market are no better than tinted moisturizers for the most part. It's also disappointing that so many charge the same price for BB creams as they would a regular foundation, which makes me feel like I"m being robbed! I have tried so many BB creams and with each one there was something about it I hated. It was either too dewy for my oily skin, too dark, or contained hardly any SPF at all (that's kinda the point of a BB cream, right?). I honestly feel like I've tried them all, but the Smashbox BB cream is the one I keep going back to. This BB cream is GREAT for oily skin. I seriously cannot believe how long it lasts on my skin, whereas I'd only expect something this light to last a few hours. It lasted an entire work day for me (8 hours), and about 10 hours in total. Mind you, that's having used powder and a setting spray. What this product does is offer an even complexion, blurs imperfections (not cover them, just spot conceal where necessary), and brightens up dull skin while controlling oil. It's also one of the few US BB creams that offers decent SPF. I don't understand the point of BB creams that contain no SPF, or very small amounts. Do you need to spend the money to get this? No. You can simply take your favorite foundation, mix it with moisturizer or SPF, and make your own. But being a lazy individual, I buy this for convenience. It's nice to have for when I'm rushing out the door or just want to look polished. I really do love this cream. It does everything I need it to do and more. « less

WOW!- Great for 20's, oily prone skin.

If I could give this product 6 stars I would. It is one of the best and most innovative products I have used since the invention of bare minerals. This product has completely changed the complexion of my face, even when the product is not on my face. I am 26 and I live in the Florida Keys. I have oily, acne prone skin, which is sometimes combination skin in the dry winter or from the exposure to the sun (have you ever had oily skin that's peeling?!- so hard to find products for!) I was looking for a product that I could add to my regime that would add SPF coverage, help with the condition of my skin, reduce oil and help my makeup last longer in the Florida heat. I went into the Sephora and tested a handful of new products I was interested in including the Stila Stay All Day 10 in 1 (I was drawn to that because it says its waterproof up to 80 mins- that would be great for the keys) but I found that product to be too thick and goopy feeling a lot like sunscreen- not a product that I would want to wear everyday. I liked the feeling of this Smashbox product the most- so I bought the large size. The feeling is a bit like sunscreen when it is first applied but does NOT have the sunscreen smell and it absorbs in nicely and feels more like primer after it absorbs. I think it is very important to put a power over this product. Its like a primer to me- its got that little bit of stick- ready to grab onto whatever else you're applying- which in my case is bare minerals powder. The coverage is moderate- not light not heavy and I def use less bare minerals power and less concealer around my eye area than I did before I used this. My makeup stays all day and my face is sooo soft. I DO NOT HAVE OILY SKIN ANYMORE! Even with all the acne products I have tried, mineral veil, all of it- nothing has ever eliminated my oily skin. This product is not for everyone and I would think that if you did not have oily skin, you would probably find this product too drying. Less

Had such high hopes!

I've been a complete BB cream sceptic for years but I found myself wanting to simplify my makeup routine and generally just wear less of it! After doing a lot of research on which cream would be right for my skin and which ones were actually any good, I excitedly went for Smashbox. I was promised it would control shine during the day, give light/ moderate coverage to even out my complexion, leave a dewy/ semi-matte finish, moisturise my skin and not clog my pores. Perfect.I have combination skin - oily T-zone with spurious dry patches everywhere. I am prone to mild acne on my forehead (even at the age of 23) which is very sensitive to the products I use. My skin tone is very light (but brown hair and green eyes) - I always have to go for the lightest of everything and even then they can be too orangey.Sadly I quickly found this product over-dried my skin. Minutes after it went on I start getting flakes on my forehead - yep the oily bit! It also dried out the skin above my eyes, the bridge of my nose and a bit near my mouth. Whatever they've put in to control shine/oil is obviously very aggressive. That said, I still have to apply a small amount of powder and watch out for shine during the day.I also found that it clings to all the tiny white hairs on my face (particularly near the hairline) which you otherwise never see. It settles in existing dry patches too making them look infinitely worse.Far from simplifying my makeup routine, I've had to add more steps to compensate like moisturising again in the morning (never had to do before- would cause my skin to be oily). This helps but marginally.By the end of the day, my skin looks flaky and I get these weird patches of almost 'scaly' looking skin on my cheeks. The shininess on my forehead somehow returns, despite the dryness, and my chin is as red as it was with no makeup. So not much staying power! The things I LIKE about it is that is matches my skin tone well (uncommon) and it goes on quickly. The consistency is nice - quite thick and creamy but goes on with a lightweight feeling. The coverage is moderate. You will need concealer for stray spots and dark circles etc. I haven't got any lines (yet) but I can say that it doesn't seem to settle in the creases I have under my sleepy eyes! All in all, I didn't get on with this at all. I know others have though! I would recommend this only if you've got properly oily skin with no dryness. Less

I’m looking for a good BB cream. I would like it to have some SPF protection and a natural looking glow. I’m usually a pretty light color with pink undertones but I do get a lot of freckles. I’m looking to stay under $20 but definitely will spend more if a product is really recommended!!

I think this does have SPF but it’s worth the price tag. If you want a good SPF, watch Hyram on YouTube. He’s got some GREAT recommendations and I use Purito centella.

BB creams are more of a skincare item than a makeup item, so they don't need primer!! My favorite is the Smashbox tinted BB cream!
