i absolutley adore this foundation. It has amazing coverage, never ever gets cakey, and it lasts all day. I don't have to touch up my makeup, and that's saying a lot considering i have really oily skin. It doesn't look like your wearing a msk on your face, and it's not heavy. It has really amazing coverage, and can be used wet or dry,which i love. And it's works great for people with norma-really oily acne-prone skin.

I've used this for years--I may try new things periodically, but this is the one I keep coming back to. I use a fluffy brush to dust it on for beautiful, natural coverage that evens out redness and post-acne marks without a heavy or obviously make-up look. You can also use a small brush to apply more to areas that need more coverage. It doesn't leave you looking powdery or flat; I'd describe the finish as natural matte, with a subtle (non-glittery, non-shimmery) glow. If you want to look dewier, spritz with a facial mist. As I use it, the coverage level is medium. I wear it over moisturizer/sunscreen, but it also layers well under tinted moisturizer or foundation if you want more coverage. I have oily, acne-prone skin and this doesn't break me out or exacerbate oiliness. It is lightweight, wears very naturally, and does a pretty decent job of mattifying. It does not oxidize. I love the O (ochre) range because it's a perfect match for my skin, which needs a foundation with warm/yellow undertones. I'm so glad they carry this online! « less

I got dizzy and settled for whatever i found anywhere when this product was discontinued. I signed in here specifically to thank shiseido for bringing this product back. This is the only foundation OR powder I use on a daily basis. I don't need or want anything else. I have used this for 15 + years and don't write reviews. However, I had to find a way to say thank you. When i received the notice in the mail that this was coming back, I felt they knew I was searching for it and they personally mailed me to let me know. This is not just about a beauty product. When it was discontinued, I felt sick because I knew I would break out again and my face would melt from any other foundation I used. This one goes right into your skin and does not budge or smudge throughout the day. I have used evereything while it was gone, from Bobbi brown to laura mercier to Dior Forever (they were a runner -up, but they also changed their foundation--shame on them) to other shiseido products (which i do not like by the way and would never buy), NONE of which satisfied even the basic requirements of a foundation. I use this product dry. This one makes me look like I am not wearing a lot of makeup, but still changes all the flaws in my face completely and covers everything, and in the end, yes, my family and I know I am definitely wearing a lot of make-up, because they have seen me without make-up, but others don't know I am wearing foundation. It lasts for a day and a half if I don't touch it. I use it for party occasions AND for staying home to get rid of my redness and blotchiness. I just use very little if I am at home and a little more when I go out. It is quick to put on and blends with my skin so that it looks like skin. Friends ask me all the time whether I am wearing makeup and tell me i have great skin, when in fact I don 't have good skin. I have red, blotchy skin and it is sensitive. There is nothing negative about the product itself. The only thing is about the amount of product contained in a refill--that is my only complaint. I feel like the new batches are drying out more quickly and leave bubbles in the foundation itself, even though I don't wet it (you could if you want, though). Then, I have to scoop it out of the round container and use it from a square tin so that I have more room when I am placing it on the sponge.This is more of a presentation complaint than the foundation itself. This is the best make-up product in the world and I felt my face could not breathe when this product was discontinued. Please do not ever discontinue this product again! All the people I know who use this say it is not as if we would go and buy other products from shiseido just because this one is take off the market. We wouldn't. Other products are too expensive and leave a ghostly powdery presence that rubs everywhere on your skin. This one goes INTO your skin without enlarging your pores, without being creamy, too powdery, or too light. It gives very good coverage and does not budge. I even went swimming with it on and it still looks natural when I come out of the water. Please PLease Please do not discontinue this again, and I will be a loyal customer for the rest of my "face" life !! « less

Granted, I'm bad at noticing details in product listings. Buuut the details tab, pictures, and earlier reviews for the product make it less than obvious that this product is a *refill* pack for the compact. However, Sephora doesn't seem to actually sell a compact foundation combo or the compact alone. My guess is that maybe they used to sell it within this product listing but no longer do. Anyhow, wonderful foundation but know that you'll need to track down the compact separately (they presently sell it on Macy's and Shiseido's website for $8), or get thrifty with shoving it into a compact you already have (what I did).As for the foundation itself, I love it. For my everyday makeup, I wear BB cream with this over my areas that are a bit more pigmented, on my nose when its shiny, and will use it to set concealer over breakouts. I have mostly dry skin, and it never looks powdery or cakey, while still feeling light and soft on my skin. I've been trying out the different clinique powder options for the past 4 or 5 years and definitely prefer this one. It looks more natural and I think it's a bit more flexible in being able to use it for both light and fuller coverage.I dealt with the lack of compact by just fully cleaning out the pan of my finished clinique pan and just glueing this one in on top (you could probably also remove the metal pan but I was too lazy for that). This foundation pan has a small diameter, so it works well enough if you're feeling thrifty or too lazy to track down the right compact. « less

This left my skin so dry and patchy looking! Not good for dry skin.
