Quality not there anymore

I have been a loyal Shiseido eye lash curler user for years. The quality over the past two years has gone downhill. Yes, I replace it every 6 months as they recommend. The problem is that the pads and hinges stop lining up properly after about 2 months of use. I lost eye lashes because of this recently as the corner grabbed and yanked them out due to the alignment issue. (I use before applying mascara). It's no better than a drugstore brand anymore. Time to find a better curler!

perfect eyelash curler

For the longest time, I was debating between the Shu Uemura eyelash curler and Shiseido eyelash curler. After much contemplation, I finally went with the Shiseido simply due to availability. To my surprise, I love it! The rubber pad is pretty rigid, so it gets a great curl with just one clamp. I have short, straight Asian eyelashes and this eyelash curler makes me look like I actually have eyelashes! I have experienced pinching a few times if I'm not careful, but with adjustments I can curl my lashes without problems. I've owned the Shu Uemura in the past and I liked it as well, but I can't remember if I liked it more or less than this Shiseido one. Also, this comes with a free replacement pad which is a huge bonus! For the quality and price, I'd go with the Shiseido.

Must Have

This curler gets all my lashes (also straight and point down like other reviewers) without pinching my skin, and the curls last all day. The stainless steel is good quality - no rusting after years of daily use.Tips for getting perfect long-lasting curls: Make sure your lashes / eye area is dry. Pushing eyelid up slightly with the curler, get as close as you can to the base of the lashes, and press firmly but not too hard (else they may bend straight up or even sideways!) Then, move up your lashes a bit at a time and press at each point until you reach the tips. Back away from mirror and survey your overall look. Repeat from base as desired. I usually repeat two to three times.

Amazing Lash Curler!

I originally bought a drug store brand lash curler and I was constantly frustrated with the quality of the product. It was so annoying to constantly press and hold the curler. Soon, I resorted to ordering this lash curler. Wow! I didn't know why I didn't order this sooner. I usually spend a significant amount on mascara, but not a lot on eye lash curlers. So, this was an investment that I decided to take. First, my lashes are pretty long but they are very stubborn to curl. They lose their curl by the end of the day, usually. When I started to use this Shiseido eyelash curler, it was quite an adjustment to make. Since the cheap drug store brand was more straight then curled, I had to get used to the curve of the lash curler. When I did get used to it, I loved my lashes! Still do! I was honestly very surprised on how efficient this product was and how it curled my lashes. I can't live without this lash curler! My lashes hold the curl and it's so easy to use!

Worth the $20!

I was skeptical about paying $20 for an eyelash curler. I thought all curlers were all the same, but with different branding printed on the top! However, I was SO wrong. This eyelash curler fits my asian (mono-lided) eyes perfectly! The top is much more shallow than other's I've used! I've been using American eyelash curlers my whole life and they always pinched me. If you have deep setted eyes, I would recommend to try the Shu Uemura one instead because it has a more curved top. Anyways, this particular Shiseido eyelash curler is very high quality and works so well. I dont have to squeeze the handles extremely hard, in order to have a perfect curl that lasts all day. Its very gentle on my eyelashes, which are prone to breaking. Also, I love the dark gunmetel hardware so much! It stands out and looks beautiful compared to other curlers! I am definitely going to recommend this to my other asian friends!

How do you guys keep your natural lashes curled for such a long time? Mine always kind of wilt and look straight after a few hours. I don’t really style my hair in the morning so heating the curler with the blow dryer is out of the question. #straightlashes #naturallashes

I have very short lashes. Does anyone know some good lengthening mascara? I have been using the tarte but it doesn’t seem like it is working that much.

I saw that someone mentioned the Telescopic mascara but I completely disagree. I have straight lashes but they’re decent at holding a curl and I LOVED that mascara because of the length it offered. until I realized that at the end of the day, my lashes always drooped. Don’t use Telescopic if you have straight lashes. I would recommend this eyelash curler tho!
