Old formula v. New Formula
Favorite waterproof eyeliner for years! The black and the green are the best, and I don’t care about the blue or the yellow. They used to carry waterproof brown mate, but was discontinued. I don’t know how many times Sephora has changed the formula, but they did it again not long ago. The old formula dried out like a film which could be peeled off at night after applying a little eye makeup remover with a cotton swab. The old formula stayed on better when applied on a clean eyelid otherwise it would come of in flakes during the day, never smudging, though. Hahaha! Also, the old formula dried out on the applicator as a rubbery film which made it hard to tightly close the bottle after a while. The new formula is not as smudge proof as the old, but it is still is my favorite. It works best for me when I prep my eye with a little eye cream all around (I am in my late 50s, and my lids are dry), then I apply with a beauty blender Charlotte Tilburry concealer under the eye, and dab on the upper lid what’s left on the sponge, then a neutral eyeshadow as a primer base, and then I glide the eyeliner near the upper lashes ending with a stroke at the end for a subtje cat eye look. This routine takes about 7 minutes, and the eyeliner stays on until I remove it with Clinique’s eye makeup remover at night. For the record, I always store these liners on an almost horizontal position, and the consistency of the product always delivers good results.
