Does anyone have any tips to get volume in the roots of their hair? I straighten my hair often and I don’t straighten my roots so they have volume but even then my hair has lost so much volume to it. It has also started having breakage at the top of my hair which I never straighten. Any tips?

This is the first look I did with color in over 6 years! I went back to my roots and decided to start doing bright colors like I used to do in high school. (Before I really knew much about makeup) This was also my second time ever applying false lashes! The first time was about 3 years ago && I didn’t like them, mainly bec I didn’t apply them correctly. This time I really liked them except it was difficult to apply my liquid liner on my top lid bec I couldn’t see over the lashes, next time I will apply the liner before placing the lashes and see if that works. Can you give me any tips for beginners when it comes to doing bright color eyeshadow or applying false lashes?? Any advice is welcome!

When I’m using brighter colors, I go from light to deep. So for pink, I use a cream color near the eyebrow, a pale pink under that, and then pack bright pink in the crease and blend upwards. Then you could cover your lid in the pink shade or use a glitter for more fun! I use a dark pink or medium purple to blend the corners a little bit- that’s the process I used for this look!

Oh and I did actually use a bright pink in the corner and a lighter pink shimmer on the lid, but they were such similar colors it’s hard to tell. Next time I know to go for the even lighter pink shimmer. I used a light hand and I put down a matte yellow for my transition shade, then I went in with a light burnt orange as my second transition color, in the outer corner and crease I used a bright pink to deepen the look, then I used what I thought was a light pink shimmer on my lid. But it turned out to be a medium pink that was too close to my crease color.

That’s also usually how I’d do this look, but I only have 2 color palettes and only one has a few matte shades so I was working with what I have lol. I am ordering 2 more palettes soon that will give me more colors to work with to build up looks. I don’t use cream eyeshadows, I’m just not a fan. I use an highlighter on my brow bone most of the time.

Back in my teen years I would only wear bright colors. I never would do a natural or nude look until around the time I hit 20 and started really learning how to do make up. In my teens I loved makeup as much as I do now but I just didn’t know how to apply it properly. Once I hit 20 and I started watching YouTube tutorials I became an “neutrals” only girl. I recently decided to go back to my bright color roots, and since I know what I’m doing now I have high hopes for how awesome it is going to be. I’m still in the learning process when it comes to colors, so any advice is welcome! Thank you! 😘😘😘
