new holy grail < 3

I have dry, very pale neutral-pink skin with a few blemishes. Lately I have been looking for a new foundation to replace my old one. I've been wearing L'oreal freshwear foundation in the shade 400 for the past few weeks. I liked it at first, but I didn't like how yellow it looked on me, and it always lifted in areas when I went back over it with my sponge, and the coverage was not very good and not at all buildable. After searching for a long time for a new foundation that will work for my skin tone, skin type, and personal preferences, this one answered all of my needs. I got the shade F1, and although it says it's neutral-undertone, I'd probably say it leans ever so slightly more pink (but not too much!! it matches me perfectly). It's high coverage, I like the bottle, and it has no smell. Some people might dislike the doe-foot applicator, but I personally like it. A little goes a long way, it doesn't lift, it's buildable, it's long lasting, it's not drying or emphasizing of dryness, it looks very natural on the skin, satin-y finish.... I love it. However-- even though I have dry skin, I noticed that by the end of the day, my skin looked a bit oily even though I set my whole face with a translucent pressed powder that morning. It was probably just the fact that I had used a super hydrating base, but I think most people would benefit from setting this foundation well with a powder-- especially if you won't be able to touch up or blot oil. Otherwise, I noticed no creasing, breaking apart, loss of coverage, or other problems!! Looked great :) Less

I have tried this foundation twice over the past couple years because I couldn’t believe that so many people loved it and I had such a bad experience the first time, but the second go was not good either. The foundation is a very thick consistency which makes it difficult to build up. It feels very heavy on the skin and enlarged my pores. Throughout the day the foundation broke apart and became patchy on the skin. Definitely would not recommend

far more than i ever could have expected

Okay, so we all know that MUR has been creating dupes of Tarte's Shape Tape concealer and foundation with this little range they've got going on atm, and I'm sure that we're all aware of how badly Tarte did with their shape tape foundation. So, bearing that in mind, I didn't have the highest of hopes when getting this, but I have a pretty large makeup collection and I liked the packaging and the fact that it was like the Conceal and Define Concealer but bigger, so, if it wasn't gonna be good I figured it'd just be a nice little addition to my collection. All that I can say is that I was so wrong, so incredibly wrong. Straight up, this is the best foundation that I have tried in all of my years of wearing makeup, I've tried foundations all over the price range scale and nothing that I've worn so far has compared to this, it is seriously phenomenal. It's both full coverage and light weight, doesn't oxidise, it's buildable, and I've experienced no issues with creasing or patchiness. I will admit that it doesn't smell the greatest (a little like sunscreen in my opinion, not at all overwhelming or seriously noticeable), but the pros severely outweigh the cons, for me anyway. If the smell really is a massive issue for you then I'd recommend using a scented setting spray, that'll make it entirely unnoticeable and like it never existed in the first place. I love this, I cannot think of a word kind enough to describe how highly I think of this foundation. My skin is a massive issue for me, I'm very prone to break outs and the fact that on top of blemishes I also have combination skin can make finding a full coverage and matte foundation that looks good, stays put, and also doesn't create break outs incredibly difficult, but I found it, and I am again at a loss for words over how happy I am that I bought this on a whim. I recommend this 10 fold, if I could give a rating higher than 5 stars then I would. Thank you, MUR, thank you. « less

Beautiful if applied correctly!

I have tried dozens of high, mid, and low-end foundations; this is my holy grail. The shade F1 is an absolutely perfect match for me. I have dry skin, and I understand why several other reviewers had a poor experience wits this foundation being "too matte." However, this foundation can absolutely work for dry skin as long as you properly prep for it! If your skin is moisturized and supple, you should have absolutely no problem with this foundation cracking or looking cakey. Assuming you moisturized before bedtime, just patting Pixi's Milky Mist into the skin a few minutes before application of the foundation is enough. This foundation is best applied with a brush, and it is buildable. A makeup sponge, for whatever reason, only gives light-medium coverage. A brush will give you full coverage. This foundation, like all foundations if worn for long enough, will settle into fine lines. Setting those areas (smile lines, forehead) with a fine powder fixes this problem, leaving the foundation looking great all day. I think that VERY LIGHTLY setting the rest of the face, too, increases the longevity of the foundation.I adore this product and I would urge anyone to give it a try. I am so thankful to have purchased this on a whim! « less

absolute love for natural/full glam looks

I am not the type of person that likes to wear makeup often. I alway gravitate more towards concealer and mascara since it is quick and easy to do. I initially bought this foundation because my too faced one was expired and I was just annoyed of buying expensive bottles of foundation that I end up having to throw away while it is half full because I don't use it often. I saw a review of this foundation by a YouTube who's opinion on makeup I absolutely trust and I figured that with the price point I had nothing to lose. LET ME TELL YOU THAT THIS FOUNDATION IS AMAZING. The only negative thing I have to say is that I bought a shade too dark for my skin tone but I really couldn't care less because of how good the coverage in this thing is. I use it as concealer, foundation, everything! For those days that I don't want to put on a heavy face I just dab a bit of product under my eyes and dark spots and its like nothing. This foundation is extremely light weight as well. I really can't thing of any bad things about this besides the fact that it does oxidize a bit but then again the grand majority of foundations do this so its really not that big of a deal. I've come to realize that after a good 10-20 min of having it sitting on my face the application looks much smoother than when I initially apply it (when I initially apply it my skin looks extremely dry and patchy). I've learned that for my specific skin, applying a good primer or spraying some rose water on my skin before hand and afterwards applying the all nighter setting spray takes away that issue for me. Less

I’m #lookingfor a new #foundation that doesn’t show my pores, it seems like no matter what I do w primer & stuff my pores are alwaysss visible after foundation & I just really want a good pore filling foundation that is also p full coverage & not super duper matte but buildable w concealer. Preferably on the inexpensive side ?

#oilyskin does anyone have recommendations for foundation and concealer or powder that will stay matte throughout the day and not look patchy?

Good recommendations for FOUNDATION, I have dry skin but hate the feeling of thick makeup. Maybe a CC cream? My current foundation made me brake out in patches. 🥴 (Nothing too expensive)

This is a great foundation that you can add a bit of moisturizer to, and the consistency won’t change. It’s also a lightweight foundation that’s buildable, and I believe it’s under $10 and you can get it at ulta beauty!
