I have tried MANY acne face washes including Murad, Dermalogica, CeraVe, Proactiv, and I’m currently using Proactiv MD. I’ve also tried getting acne facials and taking medication and putting many different topicals on my face given to me by my dermatologist. I’ve had really stubborn acne for 4 years, and it won’t go away! Is there a face wash that works for oily, acne prone skin?

This is honestly the best cleanser I have used! You need the SMALLEST drop, so it will last a while before you need to purchase again! It’s made my skin so clear and soft I’m obsessed!

So I have combination, acne prone, sometimes dry, sometimes oily skin. I used Proactiv for years but I’d like to try a new skincare line for my sensitive skin. I need something that will be gentle but effective. Any recommendations would be so appreciated!

Something cheap, vegan, cruelty free, perfect for sensitive and acne prone skin and helps regenerate skin cells to a healthier new barrier :-) might dry out skin a tad from the salycilic acid

Can anyone give me their opinions on proactiv? Does it really work? #acne #skincare

I have extremely oily and acne prone skin, it got so bad to the point where my dermatologist recommended accutane, but this face wash stopped most of my breakouts since it has 2% salicylic acid and the bio oil has cleared 75% of my acne scars. I live by these products and you can pick both of them up at Walmart for less than $20

I had a horrible break out, like my face hurt constantly. I’ve been using this for 6 days and it’s all gone! I have combinations skin so I’ve needed to use my face moisturizer more than usual but it’s totally worth it! $6 at Walmart!

@Ciara Jameson yes! I’ve not had any major pimples since I started using it though. But it has made all the little ones go away within a day.

hey! no matter what i try, i cant get rid of all of my acne. it’s not too bad right now, however i still break out in little groups. ive tried like everything - drug store brands, name brands, proactiv, curology, everything. i am currently using african black soap as a face wash. it seems to be working okay but i want something that actually works really well!

I really recommend this product to you because I have also tried other products and nothing really seemed to work. But when I tried this product, my skin became brighter and the acne started to fade. Now that I have used this product for about 3 weeks now, my skin feels so much better. I only use it once a day because it has a high amount of benzoyl peroxide. It can dry out my face if I use it multiple times a day. It's also budget friendly, so it was even better. Hope you get to try it!!

So, long story time: About a year ago I was using the Cetaphil gentle face wash and heard good reviews about the Cetaphil bar soap and started using that instead. All of a sudden I got terrible acne and it has not stopped since. I had PERFECT skin before I tried that with only the occasional hormonal breakout (being a girl sucks , ladies). I do not know what skincare products are rhe best. I’ve been on antibiotics (worked great but interferes with my other medications), I’ve been on proactiv for 4 months and haven’t seen a difference at all, and I’ve tried changing my diet (took a food sensitivity test as well) and nothing is working. Has anyone tried this skincare routine?? If so, how is it?

I haven’t tried those products, but I got terrible acne when I moved to Florida last year after having pretty decent breakout free skin throughout my life. A doctor recommended Cetaphil, so I used it religiously for months and saw no change - if anything it got worse even after I moved back home to Ohio thinking it’d get better in the climate my body was used to. So I started looking for new products and I heard a lot of great reviews about Korean skincare brands. I picked up all my products at TJ Maxx for great prices, and since switching to them about a month ago I’ve noticed a HUGE difference. My skin is so much more clear and I haven’t had but maybe 2 bad pimples. I am currently using JJ Young Pore Cooling cleanser, Frudia Toner and Brightening serum, I Dew Care spot treatment, and Dewytree Miracle Clear Serum, as well as a moisturizer from I think a company in New Zealand. If you google Korean Skincare, you’ll find a ton of great products and I’m beginning to think they’re the holy grail lol. If you do purchase from TJ Maxx or Marshall’s, just be sure to double check the expiration date. After it was all said and done, I think I’ve purchased about 7-8 products for around $50 total.

Ever since I’ve been in quarantine I’ve been amping up my skincare routine. I cleanse, tone, moisturize and occasionally use a serum or Rosehip seed oil as well... and I do this 1-2x a day. I have pretty decent skin but I can’t seem to understand why these angry breakouts keep popping up randomly, especially on the lower region of my face. Perhaps hormonal? I’m trying proactiv on them, I face mask about twice a week, I just don’t get it. Maybe I’m using too much product? Or washing my face only in the middle of the day too much rather than before bed or in the morning? Please help me understand haha because when I get pimples like this they turn into dark spots and last for weeks sometimes even months :/

If you’re just now starting to care for your skin, your skin could be purging. Gunk that’s way down in your pores could be brought to the surface and cause acne breakouts. It won’t last. Your skin purging is actually a good thing. Without examining your skin I can’t say for sure that’s what’s happening but it’s something I see frequently. I’m an esthetician.

Hello! Does anyone have experience with the glossier skincare line? My friend says it’s great for her and she also has acne and sensitive skin, but I know everyone is different. Proactiv has not helped that much so far. Any feedback is appreciated!!
