Best. Powder. Ever.

This powder has been back in stock for less than a week, and now it is out of stock again. There is a reason why. It is incredible. As I type this I have been wearing this powder for 12 hours and it still looks fresh. I have combination/oily skin. I have tried Laura Mercier, Cover FX, Tarte Smooth Operator, and Too Faced (the new peach line) recently. They are good, and some are better than others, but this PV is perfect, and I don't say that lightly. Frankly, I've never before said that about a setting powder.Truly translucent; it did not lighten nor darken my skin tone at all. As it claims, it really did fill in or blur out my fine lines - I can't see the same lines every other product settles into. I usually come home from working 6-8 hours to see my powder/foundation giving a lightly oily sheen around my nose, on my chin, and on my forehead. Right now at the 12th hour I have only the slightest sheen on my forehead (and it really just looks like a dewy or radiant foundation - not oily); there is zero sheen on my chin or around my nose. I have looked in the mirror 5 or 6 times now because I cannot believe there is no oil showing through. This is it. I am done... my search for a setting powder that can outlast me is over. PV had better increase production, because I'm not buying anything else. Less

Truly amazing

I actually found a powder that controls my oilyness, doesn't cling to my occasional dry spots, or sit in the creases under my eyes! Very fine texture with buildable, high coverage. I ran out of my first jar (well over 4 months of daily use) and tried several others to replace this, but nothing compares after using this powder. Seriously stays in place, doesn't oxidize or turn patchy, and keeps me shine free all day. This is a huge staple in my kit and I highly recommend it to anyone with oily, combo, or textured skin.

Not quite sure about the hype

I am an oily person. So I need a setting powder that really helps lock in my foundation. This just isn't it. It does leave the skin looking very velvety when it first goes on but within two hours I am a greaseball. I used the same primer, foundation and setting spray as I normally do which I know is a good combo but today I tried this instead of my Besame powder and my makeup was separating and just sliding off my face in record time. It just does not seem to make makeup last any longer. The packaging is super cute though and doesn't have an awful smell as some other powers do (looking at you Too Faced) so if you have less oily skin and are more sensitive it might work.

Great Setting Powder for Young & Aging Skin

I was in need of a new setting powder, when low and behold I got my Boxy Charm and WOOT!!!! Inside was the full-size Pretty Vulgar Setting Powder. This stuff is amazing. It is very lightweight, non-cakey and melts like silk when setting your concealer under the eyes. I use Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define or Kokie in the fairest shades. I usually use Becca Luminous Foundation, YSL All Hours, Marc Jacobs Shameless or The Ordinary Matte Foundation 1.1N & 1.2P mixed with a little MUFE HD in Y235. Pretty Vulgar sets the face seamlessly with any of these, High End or Drug Store. I should note I prime with No Poreblem Primer & Primer Essence, ELF Poreless Priming Putty, Cover FX Blurring Primer or IT Cosmetics Serum No. 50 usually. A little goes a long way. you don't need much at all. You can build it up if needed. It's amazing for baking over face contour (Anastasia Light Cream Contour) & Foundation. I highly suggest trying it. I'm 40 and can use this no problem. No creasing, clumping, dry spots or flashback. Used in photo above. Less

like dawn soap on grease!

Let me start off by saying I am middle eastern with olive medium tan skin and an oily face that can fry a fish fillet. I have tried countless amounts of setting powders and good lord I think I have found THE ONE! I have tried the ever so lovely Huda and Laura but I’m telling you, this powder beats them all. Hourglass? Becca? Tarte? Psshhh not even close. This powder is perfect for baking and surprised it’s fine enough for under the eyes. It’s translucent with no white cast. Also it’s just matte. Pure matte, no fuss. If you want dewy, you can add some ambient powder but this bad boy with soak up all that oil on your face without making it look cakey, dry or crepy. I don’t know how they managed this formula. Laura is great but dries me out then my face tries to overcompensate and oils up, making the powder look cakey. Huda just doesn’t cut it, I keep reapplying and ends up cakey. Everything else makes me super oily and just lays on top of my skin. PV actually seeps in and keeps soaking up everything while still keeping you look fresh all day. This is perfect when combined with hourglass ambient lighting powders, gives the perfect amount of matte and glow that keeps your make up looking amazing all day. I took a pic to show how my make up stayed put without reapplying or blotting for 9 hours. Just give it a try Less

I have a pretty oily forehead so after u put foundation I like to put powder over it but every powder/foundation I use makes my foundation look patchy. I do exfoliate but nothing seems to work any suggestions?

Does anyone have any makeup tips for people who wear glasses? How do you make your makeup not smudge on your nose? #glasses #eyewear #peoplewhowearglasses

It is very hard to keep youe makeup perfect when you wear glasses especially if you want it to last all day!! I always bake my nose especially the sides where the glasses are sitting. Make sure you use setting spray and carry a beauty blender with you to press around the nose (if you have oily nose). This has helped me so much! Hope this works for you. (I use the pretty Vulgar Setting Powder, the Jeffree Star Setting Powder or the Maybelline Loose Powder)
