I purchased this lipliner in Revolution (the green one!) to match NYX's Wicked Lippie in Risque. Sadly, that lipstick has less-than-perfectly-opaque-application and it is a slippery formula so putting more coats on to achieve perfection will cause it to end up all over your face. And I was never able to find the right color eyeliner to use as a lipliner for it, either... Well, NYX read my mind and created this and I couldn't be happier! So now I fill my lips entirely with this liner first and then apply the lipstick over it, which takes care of any pesky pink pigmentation poking through the green. (Also, this liner would probably match Urban Decay's Vice Lipstick in Junkie pretty well, too.)As for performance, this liner goes on smoothly, lasts all day, and doesn't feel drying on my lips (and I tend to have very dehydrated/chapped lips.) It is a matte finish, no shimmer or sparkle whatsoever. Also important to note, this liner is not retractable/automatic, so it does NOT twist up or roll up. And no where on it does it say that it does. Yes, the tube is "plastic," but you SHARPEN it with a pencil sharpener, just like you would a regular old fashioned wooden lipliner. It's literally the smoothest pencil I've ever sharpened (far better than regular pencils), which is why I just cannot believe some of the reviews on here from people saying they're struggling. Trust me, just try it. If my $2 Essence sharpener can handle it, I'm sure whatever sharpener you have laying around can do the job. Just use common sense when sharpening: be gentle, but not so gentle that the pencil doesn't initially connect with the blade. After the initial connection, it'll be smooth sailing. Less
I LOVE @Slim Lip Pencil by NYX they are creamy and super inexpensive!
