Shade and application just bad!

I got this to replace my Healthy Skin cream compact with SPF 55 for days in the spring and summer that I wanted lighter coverage or when I was in a rush. I am fair, freckly and have dry skin that peels. I usually layer my foundation over a light serum and moisturizer. I am returning this for a few reasons, generally it did not work at all. The lightest shade is laughably dark. I almost thought it had been a mistake and they sent me the medium shade. I tried it without a mixer and the first thing it did was cause all my moisturizer to roll off in little balls. after this process there was no moisturizer or product on my face, definitely never put this on with your fingers. I tried again with a clean face (not that I would ever leave the house without moisturizer) just for the sake of it, and it was so dark. I mixed it with my NYX concealer in lavender (and used a brush) to lighten and it was still too dark, patchy and streaky. Also it began to oxidize almost immediately. This product also has a sickly sweet smell. Smells don't usually bother me but with everything else it put me over the edge. The only way I would ever try this again is if they made it three shades lighter at least. « less

Using it for 5 years

I have been using this product for years. I am the kind who doesn't use heavy makeup, but use a protection from sun since have experienced sun damage on my skin. It's gorgeous, sheer coverage that blends easily to your skin. Creamy almost whipped when you apply it, leaving my skin glowing. Neutogena Healthy Skin Enhancer has an SPF of 20, which is fit to my need. I use this product more for sunscreen. It is great for preventing sunburns. It provides light to medium coverage. It's great for people with dry skin. If I needed little more coverage, I use finish powder on top of this product. A conceler under or over the product would work well too. This moisturizer also has a retinol treatment to smooth fine lines. At least that what the product discribed. I didn't see a big help on lines, but it's moisturizing my skin. Plus no irritation I ever noticed because of this product for 5 years. I have sensitive skin and the main reason I am wearing this because my skin is comfortable. « less

Love this product!

I absolutely love this product! I have very clear skin, but it is on the oily side. I used to use Neutrogena's healthy skin foundation, and that made my skin even oilier, made me break out, and was too heavy and fake looking. Therefore, I was looking for a foundation that had very very sheer coverage (because I don't need heavy coverage) yet reduced my oiliness and didn't clog my pores. This was exactly what I was looking for! The sheer tint is barely there yet it is the perfect color for my skin which has a red undertone and really evened out my skin color. If you have acne or acne scars however, this is probably too light of a coverage for you, and I would therefore not recommend. Another plus was that it reduced my oiliness after just 2 uses and continues to do so!!! Also, I'm 21 so I don't have fine lines and wrinkles yet, but I'm certain this product will help prevent them because it has SPF and retinol in it! How I wear it: I apply this product then follow it up with Neutrogena's Skin Clearing Mineral Powder (which I also love). The combo gives me a perfect and very natural look that enhances but doesn't cover up. *Also a fairly inexpensive product that serves its purpose well.

Leaves skin feeling dewey

I'm in my first month of trying this. But, so far so good! I alternate between high def foundations and BB/tinted moisturizers, depending on how my skin looks that day and what I'm doing. I've been using Urban Decay BB (actually a tinted moisturizer) and wanted to try to find something just A LITTLE BIT thicker, and cheaper. So far, I really like the consistency of this. I'm pretty pale with reddish spots here and there, so I have the 10, lightest shade. From reading other reviews I may get the 20 as well and mix, to be a perfect shade for better coverage. It doesn't cover really dark spots, but it's really nice for putting on if you don't need extreme coverage that day. I absolutely LOVE that it has retinol. I feel that since I've started using most of the Neutrogena products (makeup and face moisturizers) with Retinol, that my skin has dramatically changed. I'm 43, fine lines and wrinkles starting to show up, large pores, starting to get sun spots here and there coming out...using these products has made my face much more brighter and smoother looking, as well as tighter! I recommend trying all their retinol products if you dont have extremely sensitive skin, and are starting to see age hit your face like I have this past year. T_TThey are really doing wonders for me.I will try this again. Today I mixed it with my Too Faced high def foundation Born This Way, for more coverage...they blended very well together for a smooth finish but not as thick as the foundation on its own. I'm really liking this product so far! Will review again after a couple of weeks if anything changes. « less

L O V E. T H I S.

Yes, I finally found a product for my tan-dark skin! (I purchased the Medium to Olive 60) Initially I purchased this because I wanted a tinted moisturizer that would withstand the sweat of waiting tables out in the heat, sun and humidity down at the shore. So I will be completely honest in this review. This product has VERY LIGHT coverage and will BLUR imperfections but not fully cover them like a highly pigmented foundation or concealer. But this is why I LOVE this product!!! I do not have many blemishes/pimples, but I do have dark spots, faint redness, and the usual dark circles under my eyes after a long night. This product really quenched my dull dry skin with the help of its lightweight formula. It drenched my skin in a beautiful glow that makes me feel confident. Not only does it create radiance with its weightlessness, it smells sweet, contains an SPF 20, and light pigmentation to cover bits of imperfection. (It's very much like a BB cream but lighter) The pump makes for an easy application to a foundation brush or to fingertips. It's versatile and non-comodegenic (specifically formulated to not clog pores) so you can layer a concealer on top for extra coverage without the feeling of heaviness and cakeiness. Yes, this product might be a little high for the amount sold but my skin has benefited greatly. I love putting this product on because it for once it makes me feel great about my skin! Lovely product! « less

Been using this for quite a while and I enjoy it. But as I’ve gotten more into skincare I’ve learned about retinol and I know that you’re not supposed to use it during the day because uv rays (sunlight) makes the retinol inactive. My question is, does the retinol do anything since it’s a product to use during the day? Does the spf protect the retinol from sunlight?
