Best concealer for dry/combo skin? I currently use Tartes shape tape concealer but it’s adding to the dryness from my eczema under my eyes and around my nose and mouth. I don’t want to add anything heavy to my makeup routine either, especially since parts of my face is prone to breakouts and oily ness. #concealer #dry #eczema #combinationskin #myporesdontneednomore

I switched from Shape Tape to this recently and I LOVE IT! So hydrating and creaseless. Worth every penny.

I use the Neutrogena stubborn acne spot gel and it works really good. The only down side is if it gets on hair or clothing, the product can bleach it.

I have combination acne prone skin. I am experiencing some dryness and irritation around my mouth. I use CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser, this niacinamide serum, spf moisturizer in the morning and CeraVe Daily Moisturizer at night, and the AHA and BHA Ordinary Chemical peel at night 1 time a week. I am wondering if anyone else has had problems with irritation from any of these products. Am I supposed to be applying the serums around my mouth?

I have combo skin too and discovered that when my skin was dried out and dehydrated it lead to more break outs. I upped my moisturizer and it helped a lot. Maybe try the Cerave Night Moisturizer? And a gentler cleanser.

@JustineAylward yes yes yes yes yes!!!! The hydrating cleanser is a must have in every medicine cabinet!!!!!! This cleanser is choc full of ceramides that will rebuild the skin and lipid barrier. Also, maybe try the CeraVe Moisturizer Pm. It’s super lightweight and will help with redness. Lastly, pls bring your niacinamide all the way down to your lips! It’s a great soothing and healing ingredient. For more healing ingredients, you can look for kaolin clay, colloidal oats, seaweed, honey, Centella Asiatica.

I have the same problem, and I’ve been using this for the past week and I see a difference. I use it after I wash my face and before toner, once in the morning and once at night. You can get it at the body shop, I hope u try it 😊

Any product recommendations (both skincare and makeup) that are eczema friendly? I get dry patches on the corners of my mouth and my eyelids, so I want to look for items that won’t further irritate and exasperate my flare ups. Any help is greatly appreciated!

FAB products 100%, I use Eczema Honey to moisturize my eczema morning and night, ditched micellar makeup wipes, use COTZ sunscreen, and rose hip oil! Also if you have facial eczema I recommend taking vitamin D (consult your doctor first) as my allergist told me that was the source of my facial eczema.

Guys so around my mouth area/ around my nose I get SUPER dry, and my make up cracks. And I’ve exfoliated and everything. But still I have cracks. Don’t know what to do at this point. Does anyone know a product that will help😭😭

Maybe you should not exfoliate as often because it’ll only make it worse, and start using a very hydrating moisturizer and or simple ol’ Vaseline. Try Vaseline on that area first. That’s what I would recommend.

With age, my mouth area also looks darker than around the rest of my face. Basically you have to treat that mouth area the way beauty gurus treat their under eyes. Start by “color correcting” with a thin layer of red or peach colored hydrating lipstick around your mouth and chin, Let it dry, then apply your foundation, as usual ( try not to spread the red to the rest of your face) , then Use a lighter-colored full-coverage concealer where it will be darker then set with a brightening powder (Essence Brighten Up Banana Powder is perfect for this). Then the slightest bit of blush or at the pointy part of your chin extended upwards in a v shape should work. Thanks

#darkspots Can anyone recommend a good serum/product for dark spots/discoloration? I’ve used high end ones like 111Skin & Bobbi Brown, but it’s not doing enough for me. My discoloration is only around my mouth and chin and I have pretty sensitive skin.

Yes! On sokoglam.com they have vitamin C powder, so it’s not in oil form that goes bad quicker. You can mix it with an essence/serum and it works great!

A serum or oil added to just the targeted area should help. Avocado oil or rosehip oil usually does it. Also making sure to sunscreen no matter the weather. Let me know if you tried it and that helps. I hope it does.

I have oily skin and lately after a couple hours, my makeup seems to separate and melt from around my mouth, cheeks, chin and forehead (the most oily places). I have not changed any makeup, I just added the ordinary hyaluronic acid serum, poreflush, and moisturizer to my skincare. Any advice to stop this from happening? It drives me crazy and is not a good look lol 😂

Because you have oily skin, the hyaluronic acid serum and the moisturizer might be too much moisture for your skin, which can be why your makeup is coming off in your most oily places. I would recommend trying this serum instead! It’s meant to help control oil production as well as help with blemishes and pore size. I’ve found my oily tzone has been significantly less oily since i’ve started using this product. If you still want to use hyaluronic acid, i would recommend getting a moisturizer that contains it so it’s not as high of a concentration like the serum is. Hope this helps! :)

Peach color correcter? For trying to get rid of it try toners, I love this one it’s great but you won’t get results until like 2 weeks in

Lately my skin has been acting up. Dry all the time, peeling around my mouth and near my nose/under eye. With that being said I also started to breakout along my jawline and chin area. Bad enough I’m trying to get rid of my dark spots but now I’m trying to get my breakout and dry skin due to the weather I suppose under control. I switched to witch hazel toner since the other toner I was using was drying out my skin now that it’s winter time and I recently bought ponds moisturizer that I use in the morning before I go to work but I want something at night while I sleep. I am trying out my husband clean & clear dual moisturizer to see if it helps. Do you ladies have any other suggestions that’s affordable, won’t clog pores, and good for acne prone skin? Even oils would help as well.

Something helpful that I learned recently was that there is a big difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin. Figuring out with one you have should be the first step because they are treated differently. If your skin is dry, it lacks oil and you need some moisture! A thick cream like the one from CeraVe would work. But if you have DEHYDRATED skin, your skin is lacking water. Drink water with lemon and use a Humectant like hyaluronic acid and a water based moisturizer, then seal it all in with a cream! Hope this helps xoxo

There’s actually specialized balms and lotions for accutane users because of how dry your skin can get so that can be looked into. But lots of water and Vaseline or lip masks at night might help? If it’s peeling and bleeding though be sure to keep the area clean and protected though!

I have really dry skin and I’ve been breaking out all over my cheeks and forehead and they leave dark spots/scars I can’t get rid of. I also have really sensitive skin and there’s eczema around the eyes and mouth area usually during the winter/spring time. Any recommendations for face washes, lotions and something to get rid of dark spots?

So this lotion is great, it’s dermatologist approved or actually prescribed by them. Great for sensitive and dry skin, not necessarily for dark spots but you can always add a serum to it. I’ve been experimenting with Bio oil for my scars and we have roughly the same skin type. Both of these can be found in a drug store, I particularly got mine at Target.
