An in depth look at an amazing foundation

MAC Studio Fix Fluid is easily comparable to Estee Lauder Double Wear, but with a more skin like/hydrating appearance. I love everything about this foundation, and have used it for a very long time. I would say this foundation is full coverage, especially if you apply with a brush (I typically apply with a damp beauty blender). Studio fix is a flawless, non creasing, pore refining foundation. I can wear this foundation for 15 hours, and it still looks flawless. It bakes well, as well as blends seamlessly into cream contours. Studio fix works beautifully with MAC's Prep and Prime Fix before and after application. I've used this foundation on top of several different primers, and it always looks beautiful (not fussy at all). For myself, this is not an every day foundation, as it can feel a bit heavy. I typically wear this foundation if I am going out on a weekend (sweat proof), or going to an event of some kind/I want my face to hold up.There are not many cons about this product, but a few things to keep in mind: Studio fix does oxidize significantly. Studio fix also does not come with any kind of pump. You can purchase one, but it is another $20 (thankfully the price point of this foundation is amazing). MAC's color codes are backwards from what people typically understand regarding foundation: "NC" is neutral yellow/golden or warmer based (MAC calls this cooler), and NW is neutral cooler/pink (MAC calls this warm). If you have a pinky/red undertone you will be a NW. If you have a yellow/golden undertone you will be a NC. It is a bit confusing. Overall, this foundation is great. If you're looking for a foundation for a wedding, or one to wear to an important event, give this a go! :) Less

Cakey

This foundation was such a disappointment for me! I have the lightest shade and it matches great UNTIL it oxidizes! It turns really orange and awful. The coverage is nice once you build it up but when it dries it looks like I put on the whole bottle. It is so cakey and settles in my smile lines and my nose looks absolutely terrible! The creasing is out of this world. It makes me feel like I am wearing a mask because everytime I make any facial expression I can FEEL this foundation creasing settling even more. It needs to be set with powder but again, once you set it you look like a cakey oompa loompa! I have tried this so many times with different combinations of primers (pore filling, veils, hydrating) and different moisturizers but it just didn't work. I'm sad. SO DISAPPOINTED :( « less

This is my go to when I want something that has a natural finish with good coverage. It blend so well and doesn’t feel oily or drying!

One of Two Best Foundations Ever!!

**Out of all of MAC's (Makeup Artist Cosmetics) foundations MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 is by far the second best. **This foundation has amazing coverage. If you first LIGHTLY (this is a heavy foundation, a little goes a loooong way) cover your face with this foundation and then use MAC's Studio Sculpt Concealer on any spots that need a little extra coverage (acne, blemishes, scars, dark circles around the eye area, etc.), and then use MAC's Blot Powder Pressed across your entire face to set the foundation and concealer in place you will have a flawless face, one that doesn't looked caked or fake either if you sure to put all of the makeup on smoothly and carefully set it in place with the powder. I also recommend using a primer lotion on your face before you do any of this, MAC's Strobe Cream works great, this helps your base makeup go on smoother and to not settle into any fine lines or wrinkles. This is what I use to do for my daily base makeup except now instead of MAC Studio Fix Fluid I use MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 foundation. The bottle is more convenient and the coverage is slightly smoother and better in my opinion. On top of flawless skin, MAC doesn't make me break out, ever. If you are prone to breakouts I'd recommend putting Clean and Clear Acne Spot Treatment on your entire face first before anything else after washing your face, then MAC's Strobe Cream for sure, otherwise your face may become dried out. I've found this to work wonderfully. If you use any eye or wrinkle creams now is also the time to put them on before your foundation. On another note, this bottle of foundation will also last forever! Mine would last for six months. MAC makeup isn't that expensive and in the end it last so much longer, which saves you a ton of money. When I use cheap foundation I can go through a bottle in a week sometimes... six months by far beats that and equals to a ton of savings. Honestly, I've found ALL of my MAC makeup to last for a LONG time. I have had one bottle of MAC pigment for 6 years and I use it at least 90% of the time I put makeup on!! *MAC makeup is a good investment in your beauty and your wallet... it looks amazing and the savings are great as well! Don't take my word for it, try it for yourself!* « less

I've finally found "THE ONE."

I was always kind of sketchy when it came to MAC products, it being mainly used for studio/professional makeup, it just sounded like it would't be a foundation for an everyday use, especially being that I have sensitive, acne prone, and combination skin, but I gave in and decided to try it anyways. They recommended Studio Fix Fluid, for my skin type. As soon as I put it on, I fell in love with it! It glided smoothly onto my face, it gave me the perfect amount of coverage I wanted, and the finish was just beautiful. You can't even tell I have combination skin because of it's oil control, while also moisturizing the dry areas of my face. Over time, I've learned to love it more: I like that it feels very light on my face. It lasts a long time, I can wear it through a thunder storm and it would stick to my face. The actual bottle of foundation lasts me about 5 months, a little goes a long way. My skin is acne prone, and every other foundation has broken me out, with MAC Studio Fix Fluid, I have had little to no break-outs, that's a huge plus. The ONLY thing I don't like, is that it is super pricey! About thirty dollars for a little bottle of liquid foundation. It breaks my wallet whenever it's time to restock, but I guess it's quality over quantity. Also, being that I'm fair skinned, it tends to be hard to find the perfect shade, it's either too light toned, or too orange toned. But, there's ways around it. Overall, I definitely recommend this product, especially for us combo/oily girls. It's perfect for our skin type. It's buildable coverage and again, long lasting, it will not slide/wipe off, oily face or not. I think I've said more than enough. If you haven't already tried it, you're missing out! « less

What is a good foundation for dry skin I bought like three foundations and they still look Cakey, flakey, and weird and they are always rubbing off of my nose and chin and my foundation is always creasing Foundation I used were Milani, Elf, and Maybelline fit me dewy+smooth

MAC studio fix fluid is perfect. You don’t even have to apply that much bc it covers and blends into the whole face very easily.

Does anyone know a full coverage foundation that is great for oily skin? Or a powder that can help too (I use coty airspun & mabyline fit me loose setting powder) but still manage to get super oily in like 3 hours🤦‍♀️(I use juvias place foundation btw)

It’s a little more expensive, but MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation set/baked with Dermablend Loose Setting Powder has worked great for me for years! Nothing else stays put as well with my oily skin and keeps it controlled quite like that duo. Huda Beauty Pro Filter Foundation has super coverage and doesn’t break up with my oil, but it has a more matte finish before powder, so it can tend to look really dry and almost cracked/creased if you leave your powder on too long before flicking it off. It isn’t effected by my oil though, and it doesn’t budge throughout the day.

What’s a good full coverage foundation, that’s not expensive? I have combination skin, I’ve tried morphe but it shows my pores no matter what primer I use.
