Nice everyday lipstick. It's a matte finish but I like that it stays on and I don't need to touch up more than once a day. It also works well with a gloss on top to add a bit of shine and creamy texture. 

It's very flattering on my NW10 skin tone. I think this color would work on a variety of skin tones, from pale to deep & cool to warm. It's not the most pigmented Mac matte lipstick I have used, though it's far from a sheer lustre or glaze. More pigmented lips may need 2-3 layers, but it builds up nicely without looking too thick on the lips. The finish is described as a matte with pearl. The pearl is very subtle, I don't even notice it. I think the finish is more like a satin, without being thick like the satins can be. It's not as drying as most mattes. It wears a really long time too, about 3 hours if I'm really eating & drinking, 5-6 hours without much eating or drinking. It stains a bit unevenly, a pet peeve of mine, & I wish I could give it 4.5 stars for that reason. If I blot & apply a light second layer, it stains a bit more evenly. I really like the formula & the color. Some say this is a cross between a pink & red. On me, it's a deep fushia. I was a bit over bright pinks, but this one has enough depth that it doesn't feel outdated. I hope it sticks around, it's a fun color for spring/summer nights. « less

I thought this color was going to be opaque. It's a sheer rosy color with a frost finish. I don't particularly like frost finish. If your into rosy lips than this is the lipstick for you. I exchanged mine for different one. 

All of the reviews I read prior to my purchase insisted that Russian Red by MAC, with its blue-red color is flattering on all skin tones. Well, it certainly was for me, and instantly made my teeth appear whiter. It is very opaque and the staying power is amazing, although because it is matte, it is a little on the dry side, All in all, If you are looking for an amazing red lipstick, MAC Russian Red is it! 

This is a very pigmented dark red lipstick in matte finish. It is so pigmented that you can have a full effect by just dabbing it on your lips. Long lasting (3-4 hrs but without eating!) and will give nice stain as it wears off. May be drying so better pair it up with lip balm.
