Anti-slip mat for your lips

Oh, I do so LOVE this product! This was introduced to me by a MAC artist when I was in-store looking for a matte red lipstick. I'm not usually someone who does much with her lips. A bit of gloss here, some cremesheen there, nothing fancy. Having said that, looking for siren red lipstick for a "new look" for me was an eye opener. I tried Ruby Woo without the primer, because I thought the primer to be a little superfluous and also thinking lip liner would be sufficient... Well, I thought wrong. The lipstick stayed somewhat, but my lips got so dry because it's a super matte lipstick. putting lip balm underneath eased the drying, but nixed the staying power of the lipstick... not good So off I went and ordered the primer online. It is the epitome of "Stay Put"! =) Wore the lipstick with everything and it stayed throughout dinner AND dessert. WOW! here's how I did it: Lip balm when applying my foundation, just to it has enough time to sink in (I do my lips last). Lip primer, letting it "dry" properly, lip liner, lipstick.. done.. « less

Don't know how I lived without out this primer!!!

I have always been obsessed with makeup but am new to MAC Cosmetics. I cannot believe what I have been missing all of these years! I am now addicted to MAC! This primer is phenomenal! I seriously don't know how I wore lipstick without it. I use a little Chapstick on my bare lips, wait a few minutes, apply this primer, wait a few more minutes and then put on my MAC lipstick and it stays on literally all day and my lips feel moisturized and not dry (I like MAC's matte lipsticks). My lipstick does need to be touched up in the center of my bottom lip after I eat lunch and by the end of my work day, my lips do feel a little dry and my lipstick a little clumpy on my lips, so I just wipe it off and add a little more primer and lipstick. This may be annoying to some, but for me, who has been in search of a long lasting lipstick forever, this is minor. After all, my lipstick lasted all day and I didn't have to worry about it feathering or getting on my teeth. Great product MAC! I will be back for more! « less

I Am Just Not Impressed With This

Env: developmentAs a makeup artist, I am always asking for input from other colleagues in the field to see what products are must have in their kits. One of the things that was recommended to me as a MUST have is MAC Prep+Prime Lip**Product Details**MAC Prep+Prime Lip comes in a slim black tube. The tip of the tube is slanted for easy application. The product inside is a white opaque substance which has no flavor and a slight vanilla fragrance. The texture is featherweight, tacky and slightly emollient.**Product Performance**I have tried using MAC Prep + Prime in various situations and quite frankly I don't think it is very helpful. It is not moisturizing, as it seems to sit on top of the lips. It just takes a little bit of the edge off of the lip creases that plaque some people. It really does not do much that is drastically observable, but in some cases, it makes people feel a little better to have it on. I find that it adds a tacky feel to lipstick too, which I don't like. For me, however, I think that it really is not helpful or essential to have in my own collection. I prefer putting on a moisturizing lip gloss first and then wiping it off and putting on the lipstick afterward- I get much better results.**The Bottom Line**Although this does a little bit to smooth out lips prior to lipstick application, I just don't think it does a whole lot to make it worth having for $15 a tube. On rare occasions I use it to smooth out lips, but I feel that it makes lips a little tacky in feel and almost takes moisture away from lips.Env: development « less

I have the driest lips, ever!

I have some of the driest lips ever when I use the Matte "Pink Pigeon", and I actually was against buying "prep+prime" for lips....(like seriously, for my lips though? I can just use chap stick#, well, I bought this yesterday, and used it this morning, put it on, then let it 'dry' for about 30 seconds, then did my "Talking Points" lip pencil, and then applied the Pink Pigeon lipstick, and ohh, myy, goshh, I could tell such a huge difference in the feeling of just putting on the lipstick, and the overall look afterwards. I am beyond satisfied with this and it is well worth the money. Before I bought this, I read the reviews and saw that some people put chap stick on first, then the Prep+Prime, and I actually did put a little bit of chap stick on, then did my foundation and powder, eyes, etc. and my lips last. #I have not tried it without using my chap stick yet. But again, I highly suggest this product if you have dry lips, I really doubt you will be dissatisfied! Also, on the way to work, when I would drink my coffee, there was a lot less lipstick on the rim of my mug than before, and lasted through breakfast! « less

Amazing moisturiser for dry skin

Purchased this item as iv tried it with the miniature travel set so was pleased to find it in a bigger tube and on sale too!I have dry skin and this moisturiser leaves my face feeling really fresh and smooth. You also don’t need to use a lot either as a small amount covers a vast area! I would certainly recommend to others and this is a favourite of mine. Iv found no other moisturiser leaves my dry skin feeling refreshed as much as this one does. Make up applys lovely too after using this item. Winner all round!!
