OilyOily Skin
Textured skin:( Hi y’all! Love this app btw. Today I purchased smash box latest foundation called studio skin full coverage. It’s amazing don’t get me wrong but skin is badly textured and it just make me look cakey. It last all day. Do you guys recommend anyway primers that can help with out? Also my pores were so noticeable. I use Kylie cosmetics primer. This why I can’t find a good foundation, because mostly of the time full coverage is matte which my skin looks more cakey. I’m a mess lol

I love this one! Also make sure you pair your foundation w a primer of the same base ex. water based primer w water based foundation, etc. This will help w cakiness!

Looking for a good concealer... I’ve been using shape tape for months now and I’ve had enough of the creasing and separation it causes. I use MAC studio fix foundation which has been fine for me, so would a MAC concealer be a good choice? #concealer #combinationskin

This and Clinique Even Better Foundation are two of my personal favorites, the Too Faced has more coverage but they both have pretty finishes and work really well with my dry skin. And I recently got e.l.f.’s new Halo Glow Setting Powder and I’m liking it so far, it’s really smooth and blurring and doesn’t look cakey or dry at all.

This is what I use and my skin sounds a lot like yours. It’s specifically made for sensitive, acne prone skin, and it really helps me. Just be careful though, a little goes a long way 😂

@Mariana Huerta Mhmm one of two things. Long term, this is quite helpful finding a YouTuber who is the same shade as you. Easier easy is to go into ultra, ask for your match & get a sample, you can try it out at home & see. Also, you know your Mac color you can use the website findation.com it’s so HELPFUL!

This is completely full coverage and it can act like a foundation because it is full and it is buildable when it comes to coverage. Use the sponge or powder puff that comes with it for more coverage.

I’ve been having a very hard time with the oiliness on my forehead and nose area especially at work. Also, my pores have become so visible lately. My foundation ends up caking on my face too. I need help/suggestions. Here’s my skin and routine: I have combination skin. Dry patches below cheeks and jawline and very oily forehead and nose area. I also have large pores on nose and cheeks. I wash my face with Neutrogena Hydro Boost (light exfoliator with hylauronic acid) twice a day. After, I use Thayer’s witch hazel toner. I usually finish with Kiehls Ultra facial cream. I also have been exfoliating two times a week with L’Oréal PureSugar scrub in nourish and smooth. To add, I also do a clay mask about once every 2 weeks. I have added rosehip oil and hylauronic acid from the Ordinary to help with moisturizing because I heard that I get so oily because I’m actually dry. For foundation, lately I have been using Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation. I don’t even put it on my forehead because it creases in my fine lines. The only thing I put on my forehead is setting powder. How can I help my oiliness, large pores and foundation cakiness? .. I thought I covered the bases with moisturizing, exfoliating, etc. I’m out of ideas. Thanks.

Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid might be something that you would want to try for pores. I’ve used it and love it. Seems to help them look smaller.

The Mac one is very pore clogging and heavy. The born this way powder is alright. I was very impressed with the bare minerals pro pressed powder and the benefit happy powder. Those have SPF and are cool.

I have combo to dry skin and my breakout area is always my chin/mouth area so I always end up with smile lines almost immediately after doing my makeup. Currently using MAC studio fix powder plus foundation as powder and looking for a change. Any suggestions?

Make sure to blend out your foundation and then immediately powder the area with this powder and use a pore filling primer to fill in the gaps (like the elf putty primer)

setting powders for dry skin Would anyone happen to know a powder to set my concealer and possibly foundation? I have dry skin and can get flakey patches. My undereyes can also dry and flake very easily. I've found a few powders over the years that I like, like the Maybelline Fit Me powder and Mac Studio Fix. Although they still mattify my skin, they don't emphasize or make my dry skin worse. Thank youu

Maybe you could try the Laura mercier setting powder and what I find is that I have dry skin and it doesn’t make me have dry spots or dosent cling to mine.

What is better NARS soft matte or Mac studio finish? Which has better coverage? What’s better for blemishes and what’s better under the eyes?

Definitely NARS. I work at sephora and sooo many clients come in and say they want to switch their foundation away from the MAC studio finish, some said it recently caused acne, others said that it’s patchy (could also be the way that they apply their makeup but i don’t know) we do sell a lot of the NARS soft matte foundations and i’ve tried it myself and it’s a pretty good foundation (:
