Slightly disappointed

I was really excited to try this foundation. I love foundation sticks and saw rave reviews for this one. I bought this in two colors, one my regular shade and one for contouring. I have normal/ dry skin that tends to dry out and look cakey with most foundations. I had read that this was good for dry skin, so I used this with my normal routine after moisturizing and exfoliating. It looked cakey immediately. It stuck to dry patches I didn't even know I had, and every baby hair on my face. Blending didn't help. The color oxidized. It looked so bad at one point that I had to try to rub it off my face during the work day, which I've never done before. I did use this over my concealer (the pigmentation of this stick did not live up to the hype for me), so that may have partially led to the not so cute results. I tried it for about a week. I ended up returning both shades. I really wanted to like this foundation, but it was not for me. If you're thinking of trying it, go for it because maybe it will work for you. Less

Finally found a great foundation

My skin tends to break out and I am often times left with the redness as well as dark spots and uneven skin tone. I have been matched several times with different foundations, the ones that were medium to full coverage (which I need) oxidized. I loved the Kat Von D foundation right after I put it on, but an hour later it oxidized and was like I put on the wrong color foundation. I have a neutral skin tone, so a little too much in either cool or warm direction does not come out well on my face. Frustrated and lots of money spent, I went back to Sephora to get matched and get a different foundation. This was maybe the fifth foundation tried on me by a Sephora employee. She was looking at me and pop! She had an idea and said that it is a newer product. A stick? I had never tried a cream stick foundation, thought that it would never cover and would just transfer easily. I was wrong! It was the best color match, 260 N, and looked flawless and went on effortlessly. I do put a color corrector on before my foundation, so I find "buffing this foundation on just moved the corrector underneath. Instead, I use the Sephora #56 brush to swirl on the stick and pat or stipple the foundation on my skin. This also is great for building coverage in places that I only need it. It's long wearing and I feel I use less than any other liquid foundation. Also, I did buy the liquid teint idole in the same color and had to return it because it did change color or oxidized when dry. Putting the stick and liquid swatch on my skin next to each other after it dried were different colors.

I believe I have found my HG!

I used to wear Lancôme years ago (Dual Finish). I can't remember why I stopped. Anyway, my skin has been changing due to time (I'm now 43), and what I was using didn't work anymore. I have tried many foundations in the last few years with no success. I am fair/light and have combination skin and I'm prone to dry patches. I'm beginning to get fine lines and I also have an issue with large pores. Plus, matching my skin tone is a challenge. I either get it too "white" or too "orange". I accessed that cream foundation might be best for me but worried about it making my skin oily. I came across this foundation stick by researching online reviews and finally tried it out in the store. The SA had me try numerous other foundations but none of them looked right on my skin. Then she finally tried this one on me. Bingo! I was very impressed with this foundation stick so I bought some. (Ivoire C was the best match for me.) When I got it home, I used it with primer and setting powder and it looked better than it did when I was in the store. To note: I apply it with an angled foundation brush. This seems to give me the best result. I've been using it for almost two weeks and have not had any issues with breakouts or oily skin. My face is looking better than it has in a long time. In fact, I get excited now when I put on my makeup. I really like the dewy, youthful look it gives me. I WILL be buying this again. And again and again. « less user

I got this product for free to review (Product Review Club).I tried this foundation stick for 2 days before writing a review. I got the 250 Bisque (W) as a highlighter. It was almost close to my skin tone so the results of me using it as a highlighter was not as visible as I wanted it to be. I have use highlighting powder in the past and I would say that this foundation stick is much better. The application is so smooth and a little creamy. It blends really well. I have large pores and it filled up my pores nicely and not cakey at all. I always have problems by my cheek area. Any foundation or concealer I use no matter what primer I have on first, still gets cakey and creasy. This foundation blended nicely and gave me a nice coverage. I use a damp blending sponge and also used an angled liquid foundation brush and they both worked really well. I like using it now to highlight my brows.I would say it is a light to medium coverage but very buildable til you achieve full coverage you wanted. It also blended nicely with the finishing powder I was using. I love that it is oil free and has a matte finish. It is not a very matte finish. I'd say it's in between dewy and matte.. but like 70% matte just enough glow that it makes the finish looks really nice. The SPF is an added bonus! I should say too that it is not transfer proof or smudge proof.. it is TRANSFER and SMUDGE resistant.. meaning there will still be minimal transfer and it will still budge. It is very light weight. I don't even feel like I was wearing makeup. I will continue to use this and would probably get the shade closest to my skin tone as my base foundation and get a dark one for contouring once my contour cream is done. I love how small it is and you can just take anywhere with you. My makeup on day 1 trying this product lasted for a good 9 hours til I have to remove it. My work involves running around and cleaning and my makeup was still on til I got home.I guess it all depends on your skin type. This will probably not be good for oily skin. Oh yeah, it wasn't cakey at all on my dry spots and covered it up pretty well. I like how easy it is to use this product and just glides on my skin. The price may be a bit in a higher range but I think it's worth it. :)Thank you again ChickAdvisor for the nice opportunity. « less

Magic in a stick!

This is truly a beautiful and amazing foundation. I have mature (very good condition) skin that is combo/oily and uber sensitive. My skin will burn or immediately get a bump or pimple if the foundation has alcohol in it and many other irritating ingredients. With this foundation I have absolutely no issues. It disappears into my skin and covers what I need. My only issue is thin light skin; translation: You can see my veins-plus some broken capillaries. This covers yet does not hide my skin. The finish, on me, look natural with a light glow. It does not look matte on me! It looks natural with an absolutely lovely almost natural glow. Completely in love with it. I do not typically ear a primer. I do wear a liquid (spray) sunblock under this and I am very consistent and good with prepping my skin before I apply my makeup. My other favorites are: Surratt Dew Drops and the discontinued beloved Givenchy Photo Perfexion. On the color selection: I always have to mix colors-and I do with this foundation too. I have three shades. I mix 210 Buff (N) and 210 Buff (W). I also have Bisque in Neutral that I sometimes mix depending on the time of year and what my skin is doing. I very-lightly powder to set. I do use a super low does of Tretinoin (Retin A). This looks beautiful over my skin when I am having a dry/Retin A flaky day! Imagine this would work excellent on everyone. I apply with my Signa Flat Kabuki F80 brush. Love it! (and, I also have a very high end stick foundation-this is much better. This stays all day.) I live in an extremely humid climate, Houston. Very few foundations last all day on my skin.) this holds up better than most. A winner!Final comment: I travel a lot for business and find the stick (and the size) excellent. No spills, no bottles to worry about. Definite love! Less

I have oily combination skin and am in need of a long wear foundation. Currently using Clinique stay matte and it just looks cakey to me and doesn’t last well. Opinions on any high end foundations for oily skin? Thinking about trying out Chanel.

Lancôme Tient Stick gives a soft matte look. I normally prefer a float look, but on travel days where I know I’m not going to touch up very often, this is my go to.
