Primer Perfect 4 Combination Skin - Honest Review

Less is more when it comes to this primer. I use half a pump on a clean face (pearl sized), wipe it around with my fingers, and let it sit for a few minutes before applying the Lanc?me Teint Idole Ultra Wear. It does feel oily but it has no oils, thus my sensitive-combination skin loves this!I would recommend this product to use as a primer for those with combination skin (dry-normal face with oily T zone). I have found using to much of this product actually makes the makeup sit funny, so depending on your skin type you might need 1/4 to a full pump. You can put more of it in areas where you are more dry too, spreading ultra thin layers where it is oily and thicker layers where you are dry.You can wear it with or without makeup on top and it will still make your skin look fantastic and provide a barrier for your skin. It does wear well with Lanc?me Teint Idole Ultra Wear, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, and KVD Shade Light Contour powders; no caking or creasing, the look is very natural. It wears for 8 hours with maybe one blotting mid-day, but that might be because my T-zone is oil prone.Great for summer and winter weather, this product will last a while (since a little goes a long, long way) and is worth the 42$. It was hard to think about spending this much but it was worth it and makes the makeup on top look flawless. If you have more pores and oily skin all over (little to no dry spots) then I would recommend the Pore Professional Primer from Benefit. Less

The magic eraser

I've tried zillions of primers searching for the Holy Grail, and this is one of the best primers out there, period. It glides on like silk and blurs out pores and imperfections instantly like a magic eraser. It gives a soft, semi-matte finish that makes your skin feel dewy and fresh all day - the right balance of "correcting" and letting your natural skin show through (I find some primers *too* corrective, to the point where they make your skin look plastic-y!) It is very lightweight and scentless. You only need a little bit, so the bottle will last you a while. A great investment for younger, combination-oily skin. :)

Best primer for mature skin types and those with large pores

As an artist that does a lot of weddings and editorial work and a growing client base with aging skin (and even clients with larger pores) I really was not a fan of the more popular products being pushed as pore fillers. They were way to cakey and hard to move around which in the end, makes the images look terrible if the skin doesn't look smooth.I typically stay away from Ulta because I feel like some of their employees are super judgey and literally don't know what they are talking about (only my experience... can't speak for anyone else) but I took a chance, explaining in detail what I came in for, what their opinions were on the two products I was undecided on for mature skintones and i actually got an honest answer. This dude was a freelance artist so he understood where I was coming from. He had used the two I was interested in and had not liked either, gave me legit reasons and was able to recommend something that he uses in his own kit for that particular skin type. I bought it and I actually bought the Lancôme astringent (blue bottle) which is alcohol based to help shrink those pores up even more right before you apply the primer.I tested it out on my mom, and her face was literally flawless. If I can figure out how to post a pic of it, I will. But I'm sold. This is my go to favorite for skin types with large pores with oily skin (also works well with normal) but especially mature skin.Thank you dude! You were on point!!!! 🙌🙏👏👏👏👏 Less

Different

I have very oily skin. I had been using the Pure Focus lotion for a few months now and found it had dried several areas of my face. So I switched back to the Aqua Vital a long time favorite of mine the only downfall is that this one does not control my oil. The Aqua Vital used to work better having SpF in it which was discontinued years ago (why?! Bring it back!) so I decided to try La Base Pro. This one made the make up appear very dry w no glow and it helped control some of the oil. This item was returned because I prefer the Aqua Vital lotion since it does not dry out my face and has continuous moisture giving my face a glow throughout the day despite being the worst at oil control and long lasting make up.

Defefinitely Top 3 and it's Not #3.

I have not purchased this item yet, I actually received it as a sample from Nordstroms when purchasing some Tom Ford perfume.I have t-zone oily skin, dry around the chin and jawline area. I do not like matte foundations, I prefer a dewy look or a natural finish at all times. In my opinion, matte foundations can come across as "cakey."With that said, I knew from the second I applied this primer I was going to love it. It did exactly what it said it was going to do. It blurred my skin and made my complexion look like silk. There were no blemishes or visible texture differences. They all seemed to melt away. Any discoloration would be fixed by my foundation/concealer application.I mixed two of my favorite foundations together, one being the Lancome foundation and it came out more beautiful than I have ever seen it before. Once I am out of the sample, I will definitely be purchasing this primer. This primer and the tatcha primer are the only ones I will stand by -- even over my Tom Ford primer. So glad I came across this sample, I otherwise would have never tried it. Less

I have super dry skin and can’t seem to find the perfect combination of products. I also only wear concealer no foundation. What do y’all use for skincare, primer, and concealer?

Make sure to use a decent moisturizer! I use Clinique for my skincare (toner, moisturizer) and Philosophy for my cleanser. I LOVE my Lancôme primer! Highly recommend. As for concealer, I have heard a lot of good things about the shape tape from Tarte, but if you don’t want to spend the money Elf has a decent dupe.

Can someone help? I’ve tried all kinds of primer but after a few hours of wear, my foundation breaks up on my t-zone! I have very oily skin. Or if anyone is a nurse; what kind of foundation do you use that last all night?
