Gentle, good for acne, redness relief
I genuinely never review (terrible I know), but really did feel compelled too. After around two years seeing a dermatologist for my acne, I was very sceptical that this would make a difference. Various antibiotics and topicals have failed to do so, and my last option is now Roaccutane, which so far I have declined.I have also been through most clear skin regimes, expensive and less so, which have had no real effect.La Roche Posay was kind of my last shot and I have been using the Purifying Foaming Gel, Effaclar Duo + and Effaclar H Moisturiser for almost three weeks.I use Effacalar Duo + all over at night, and just on the areas needing attention in the morning, which is my jaw line, chin and forehead mainly. I did try it all over initially but found I got a bit shiny come mid morning.Only a small amount is needed so it's good value, no strong smell and it feels nice to apply, it's not harsh at all, no drying or flaking.Although by no means perfect, my pores are definitely smaller, and my skin overall is less oily. I have had the odd extra breakout, but not too severe, and I find the redness of my older blemish marks is starting to reduce. New breakouts are taking less time for the inflammation to reduce, and aren't painful, as they used to be in the past.My skin generally feels better, less irritated and sensitive. I don't want to tempt fate but after being pretty miserable about the state of my skin, and thinking I'll never see an improvement, I can see a vague light at the end of the tunnel! It's still early days, but so far so good, I whole heartedly recommend giving it a go « less

Good for acne, good for sensitive skin, redness relief
I have been suffering with hormonal acne for 2.5 years. I have tried everything the dermatologist recommended and I didn't have any improvement. I went into ULTA to purchase ProActiv. They didn't have it in the stores yet so I stopped to look at this product. I read the reviews online while in the store and decided to purchase it. Within one day my redness decreased. I have been using it for 6 days and my acne is 75% improved. I think it could dry out your skin if you are prone to dry skin but I haven't seen any dryness with my combination skin. I don't normally write reviews but I am so impressed with this line of skincare for acne. I will continue to use these products.

Gentle, good for acne, redness relief
I'm nearly 43, have had sensitive combo to oily skin And acne since I was 11. Cystic acne is awful beyond words! I have PCOS, I have blood sugar issues, that means weight, acne, and blemish healing issues for me. Not fun. I tried this on the recommendation of a chain pharmacy employee as I was about to purchase a different brand. Glad I tried it! I was in a rush to hopes of it being a miracle and should have eased into this line. I had a day of bad stinging all over my face! Although its been 9 days so far, I saw my skin texture improve after 2 days, saw pore size reducing after 4/5 days, and while 2 new blemishes (and not cystic ones -yay!!) started they were gone in 1-2 days. That Never happens! Even with that said, I'd suggest easing into this line and start by using just the cleanser once a day for 4-5 days, then go to twice a day. Salicylic acid can be irritating to some skin and your skin may need some adjustment time. Then after a week I'd add the clarifying solution once a day (a little goes a long way on a cotton pad), start just at night. This can be drying, too, and can cause light peeling/flakiness, but nothing severe like I'm accustomed to with most acne products. Once you're up to twice a day then lightly spot treat any current acne and any you feel coming on with the Effaclar Duo. You won't believe how effective it is despite having less benzoyl peroxide than OTC brands you've likely tried! It will bleach colored items so be careful to thoroughly wash your fingers after applying it. It can also sting blemishes or peeled spots (neosporin helps). I also purchased the Effaclar Mat moisturizer. It's light, not greasy, I apply just a thin layer in the morning/a little more at night. It truly is the Best makeup base I've ever used. For me, though, it does not matte any shine. It actually makes me shinier with or without makeup. I space out 10-15 min time between applying the toner and moisturizer, and again before makeup so each product has a chance to soak in. I'm impressed despite it maybe taking longer to work for me than for others but I'm sticking to it with optimism. If I can have the best skin that I can have, even if it's still not perfect, then it's worth the wait to me! Try it, ease into it, give it a couple weeks, and realize you may need to swap out a different product within their line to achieve great skin because everyone's skin is different.
