Best cleanser to date!!

This may very well be the best face cleanser I have ever tried. Its is very gentle yet very effective. Scent is not overpowerful and clean. Lathers VERY well so this will last a very long time! Now people are confused that this is an exfoliant(it is not) it is part of the Exfolikate line but this is a cream cleanser with exfoliating properties (AHA's) but no particles. It is meant to be used with the Exfolikate suitable for your skin type. I have dehydrated skin that overproduces oil and results in cystic acne & clogged pores (whiteheads + blacked heads-yay!) as well as eczema patches. This cleanser does NOT irritate my sensitive skin. It does not strip my skin of all its oil but removes all impurities so my skin honestly feels soft to touch but not flakey and parched. My skin feels plump again -less oily - and reduced ny acne. It is never easy finding the right product to balance acneic/dehydrated & fragil skin without harsh ingredients to get the job done... However Kate Somerville's creation is a life saver. I would reccomend it to EVERYONE! Just an FYI: I use this in the PM with the gentle daily cleanser in AM, clarifying toner & Exfokikate treatment for acne. Good luck! « less

Leaves your skin soft and supple

So, I waited a good two weeks to try this on my skin before I posted a review. I have combination skin, with an oily t-zone and dry cheeks. I do get breakouts from time to time too, so I have to be careful with what I put on my skin. I have tried other products from Kate Somerville, with the ExfoliKate being a favorite of mine as a once-weekly exfoliater. I have tried other cream cleansers before from other brands, which were not gentle at all, and literally sucked my skin dry of every last bit of moisture. This, however, is super gentle and creamy. It doesn’t sud or foam a lot. Instead, it is a bit like a lotion and cleanser in one...basically a true cream cleanser. It’s scent free, non-irritating, and soothing on my skin. It doesn’t remove makeup well, but that’s fine since I haven’t worn much since quarantine. And I think, for me at least, I will start using this as my morning cleanser. It’s soothing and refreshing to use in the morning, and preps your skin well for any makeup application, whether you decide to go out bare faced or with makeup on. Plus, for acne sufferers, it’s important not to over stress your skin out, otherwise you can cause more flare ups. When I use this, my skin just feels soft and supple and soothed, which is great.

Oh hai, nice skin.

Sooo... ya ever buy a hyped up face wash with mega amazeballs reviews only to be left wondering what the snap was so great? Me too .. like every GD few months. Welp let me tell ya dear, this one is actually different. I used this once last night, and once this morning and slapped on my Josie Maran argan oil and a tad of concealer and went to work. My extra pale, aging, still acne prone, porous, easily irritated, dull A/F skin, got 3 notices. My main co/wo (co worker bff) remarked that my skin looked crazy clear and 2 others shortly followed suit. That's major! On top of that, I love how soft my skin felt after without having to scrape my face with rough exfoliators. The scent is light and the product is gentle, which for me typically means does NADA for my complexion, but not this FREAKIN' time! After further review (starring at my face in a handheld mirror instead of working), I notice that my red blemishes are less pronounced, my pores are smaller and my skin seems brighter and less cave dweller-ish. The cost is double what I typically pay but does so much more for my skin. Also I take solace in the fact that I only had to use a small amount each time so I'm thinking it'll last longer! So for once, I WIN! And if I win you win.. kind of. stay in school kids. « less

I'm in love!

I have tried so many cleansers for my extremely finicky, acne-prone skin, both drugstore and high end. The latest one I had tried before this one was Boscia's detoxifying black cleanser which I was reading rave reviews about. I excitedly bought the trial size and tried it that night. I was so dissapointed. My skin honestly still looked dirty and I still had makeup visibly crusted on some parts of my face despite the cleanser claiming to dissolve makeup, gross! I reluctantly went back to Sephora and returned it. The skin rep there saw my skin and after I told her I wanted something that would help with clearing up my skin but something that would be pregnancy safe, she steered me to this cleanser. It's amazing. First of all, it smells delicious. I'm usually sensitive to strong fragrances in skincare/makeup and I had to check the ingredients in this to make sure it's not artificial, it's not! Fragrance is not one of the ingredients, so that delicious, citrusy fruit loops smell is the ingredients themselves. Speaking of ingredients, I love how this has natural fruit acids to help brighten and exfoliate the complexion. Papaya is excellent for lightening dark spots/hyperpigmentation. I know people say you shouldn't look for fancy cleansers because they are on your skin for such a short amount of time, but I honestly do notice a difference in my skin depending on what I cleanse with. Even cleansers, at least the wrong ones, can wreck havoc on my skin. My skin looks bright, healthy and it's also clearing up with this, crazy thinking this is only on my skin for a minute, huh? It also does not strip my skin completely. It does leave it squeaky clean and oil free, but it magically does not dry my skin out! I think it's because of the sulfate free formula. I'm the type who never stays faithful to products but it was instant love with this cleanser. Very happy with my purchase. « less

Not for me.....

I absolutely love Kate Somerville products, so I was really excited to try this cleanser. I have very dry skin, and Exfolikate the exfoliate works wonders on my skin! However, this cleanser is too harsh for my skin. It smells delicious, and removes every bit of makeup, but leaves my skin very red and dry. I believe it would work better for someone who has oily skin, or breakouts, but I’ll be returning this product. I love so many products from Kate Somerville, but this product just doesn’t work for my skin.

I use Kate Somerville Exfolikate!! Make sure that you’re not drying out your skin too much because one of the most common causes of acne is over drying your skin so that your skins tries to produce more oil which makes pimples.
