Just wondering what setting powders my dry skin ladies are using. I actually have only found one that works with my skin and that’s the hourglass veil powder. It’s just super expensive which if it works I gotta do what I gotta do but I’d like other recommendations just in case!

Us dry skin girls should stick to pressed setting powders the loose powders are usually better for oily skin. As for a loose powder that works with dry skin I say the Becca hydra mist set and refresh powder is really hydrating and unique but only if the shade works for you

I’ve asked for recommendations for foundations a bit lately but I always ask for drugstore products. Now I’m just asking for any suggestions for foundations for dry skin, my go to has been e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation but now with the weather changing even it’s looking kind of dry and flaky on me, even though I’ve switched to my thick moisturizer and prep my skin thoroughly beforehand. I really want to find a foundation with good coverage that’s also very hydrating and I just haven’t had any luck with any I’ve tried so far, so any suggestions are much appreciated.

@Emily Noelle Selby definitely gonna have to try it, it is super affordable. How is the coverage? I’m super self conscious about my blemishes I also have a good sized scar directly underneath my chin. I’m super embarrassed by it I got it in the 3rd grade I’m 27 now 🥺

With so many people moving into serums and acids just a reminder: You should NOT mix these VITAMIN C + AHAS/BHAS : Combining retinol with Vitamin C is a recipe for peeling, redness and irritation, in short, a total disaster for the health of your skin RETINOIDS + AHAS/BHAS: damages skin moisture barrier and can cause irritation, redness, dry skin over time; use separately and sparingly RETINOIDS + VITAMIN C: may cause over exfoliation, resulting in increased skin and sun sensitivity; separate into day/night routines Benzoyl peroxide + vitamin C OIL-BASED + WATER-BASED. GLYCOLIC ACID + SALICYLIC ACID: too many acids can strip the skin and damage its ability to recover NIACINAMIDE + VITAMIN C: use in careful moderation. Some studies show that They stabilize each other some shoe that mixing vitamin c can result in a niacin flush (red irritation to the skin). -Retinols should mostly be used at night - Vitamin C should mostly be used at night -Wait 20 mins when layering multiple serums (if you find your skin can tolerate it in one setting) -Don’t forger your SPF 30 during the day -When introducing acids to your face “purging” is only normal to a certain extent

These are references telling you how antioxidants differ from acids. And that all do not exfoliate.

@Ayan Qureshi you go to one website which is Paulas choice and not any other website that was reviewed by a dermatologist .. no where does it says it was .. I’ve given you three different website (healthline, WEBMD, and a professional Chemist) and all you have is a Paulas choice website lmaooo

What’s your skin care routine? Just trying to figure out when I should exfoliate and/or apply moisturizer

You should exfoliate after using your cleanser. I use cerave foaming cleanser it’s good. You should moisturize when you’re finished doing everything like applying toner, acids( salicylic, hyaluronic, lactic etc) or whatever you use after cleansing and exfoliating. If you don’t have any of those it’s fine, just skip to your moisturizer.

I’m looking for a nice bronzer, high end or drugstore! I just tried the abh one and I really liked it but I haven’t worn makeup in a while so it’s gone really chalky and it doesn’t blend anymore :( help!!!

the physicians formula butter bronzer is great! but it has a pina cola scent, so if you’re not into fragrance products you might not like it.

What are your thoughts on foaming face cleanser- the one which dispenses foam. It feels really nice and soft after using it, but just curious what you all think about foaming cleansers.

I recommend them. Especially foaming. They actually work and you don’t have to spend 10 dollars on one because even the generic brands work.

Hey girl! I had the same exact issue before - every makeup remover product / wipe would really irritate & break my skin out. Now I swear by rosewater. I use Heritage Store’s Rosewater - I got mine from the health & beauty section in a supermarket but it’s at ulta, target, Walmart, etc. Just make sure if you do purchase you get one that’s straight rosewater (not the toner and other similarly packaged products). I spray a cotton round with it and wipe my makeup off with it, if there’s still makeup flip it around, spray some more & wipe away. I haven’t broken out one time after using it. It’s very gentle on your skin & it lasts a while. I’m an esthetician & I tell my clients if they get lazy about washing their face @ night to keep a bottle and a sleeve of cotton rounds on their nightstand.

For Oily Girls: what is your bake/powder routine? Do you just bake the t zone? Do you bake and powder? I am really oily in my t zone and I bake and powder but I feel as tho it makes me look cakey. PLEASE tell me what combo you use!!

I use this powder which is amazing. Also before doing anything else (primer, etc) right after toning I use milk of magnesia (weird but works). Keeps me matte for hours but doesn't look cakey!

Hi guys! I’m looking for a really good moisturizer. I’ve tried a few different ones from inexpensive to high end and something just isn’t clicking anymore. I used to love the Glam Glow Hydromask “Thirsty Mud” but my skin isn’t reacting as well anymore. Any suggestions?

What is the best mascara to hold a curl on straight lashes? I’ve tried tons and the only thing that seems to work for me is the too faced waterproof mascara. Just trying to see what works on everyone else.

my skin has been oily for years, i would get a pimple here and there when i usually ate one chocolate, skin has always been on the bumpy side though, and i have alot of uneven skin tone. now to try to get rid of the oils and bumpiness my sister recommend using the body shop tea tree soap, then the body shot vitamin c scrub and them the tea tree face mask and to sleep in it. i tried it and got chemical burn, completely broke me out and make my skin more sensitive to everything, i used to be able to use estee lauder double wear and now even that breaks me out. ive tried all the vitamins everyone has recommended, i tried clinique, stirvectin, hydrolic acid, now im on cerave the light blue bottle face wash, i tone put the hydrolic serum and face moisturizer im so close to giving up, my face just looks horrible now i have alot of scarring, still bumpy and red. its embarrassing, any recommendations welcomed!!

@Sandra Rivera having a good skin care regimen is always important. Making sure you cleanse and moisturize every morning and cleansing and toning every night as well. I’m using DermAware products right now for my whole skin care regimen. Has the dermatologist ever recommended chemical peels?

Anyone know about a good drugstore (or drugstore price) moisturizer for dry sensitive skin that’s fragrance free? I recently used to use Glossier’s priming moisturizer then moved to using Embryolisse lait creme concentrate but lately I’ve been extra sensitive to fragrance I tried CeraVe’s moisturizing cream and works great on my body but it performs terribly on my face, then currently I’m using Simple’s replenishing ultra rich moisturizer for dry skin but it just seems to evaporate on my face (I try to overcompensate with face oil and my sunscreen but it’s still not enough/right)

This is extremely moisturizing and it’s fragrance free. A few months ago while I had to give myself these shots that made every single minor scratch I got turn into these horrible infections and every single product I put on my face caused awful allergic reactions and made my face peel (sorry if that was TMI), this was the only moisturizer I could use that didn’t irritate my skin while still keeping it well hydrated. You get a lot of product for the price too.
