Hi! The roller lash mascara is totally worth a try! I like it a lot because it really allows me to shape my lashes into the curve I want my lashes to shape Into. It also helps to separate the lashes so they do not clump. The mascara itself is not too thick and so I choose to use another mascara for the second coat because the roller lash lacks thickness towards my lashes. However, it is essential in my mascara routine as it separates my lashes and holds them in place or the shape so that I can then thicken them right after with another mascara(I typically use the essence pink mascara with it)

Greasy face My face was finally clearing up! ... but then I started working as a server and no matter what I do it is ALWAYSSS greasy like my forehead is literally shiny and even when I was my face which I do twice a day it’s STILL greasy... any suggestions or tips?! 😭

I switched from one of those aggressive “fight acne and oil” cleansers to a basic cetaphil one and that helped my face get less greasy (as gentle cleansers won’t strip your face of its oils. Your skin will only produce more oil in response to harsh cleansers). Make sure to use a matte primer as well. So far, I’ve found MILK’s blur stick to be the best at oil control. I’ve also heard using milk of magnesia (essentially magnesium) as a primer is great for keeping your face matte, but long term use isn’t ideal as it’s pretty drying and can damage your skin long term.

Try Curology. I was skeptical at first and it gave me better skin in a month. There are still acne marks but at least they’re not growing anymore.

Anything that will help with my acne on cheeks😖? I’m so insecure about it and I’ve been having it since last year. It will come and go away. I can’t find anything for it I’ve tried so many face washes, toners, moisturizers Etc and nothing seems to help does anybody recommend something that will definitely work. I was also taking minocycline but unfortunately it stopped working for me.

While you are waiting for clear skin use a pink concealer (don’t use green) to color correct the acne ( under your foundation).

@Brie Brodeur omg thank you I will use it later on, I use makeup a lot but recently I haven’t been able to cause it just come right off or it doesn’t stay on and just looks ugly with all the acne under and just worsens/irritates my skin even more

I have dry, acne prone skin and I have been trying everything to get rid of my acne for the past year! nothing works (curology, neutrogena light mask, acne washes, tea tree oil, mario badescu- you name it!) does anyone have any recommendations for a natural at home remedy for acne? I’m done with all the chemicals ingredients on my face.

I know you said no chems but the only thing that worked for me was 1 session of a chemical peel (ask for 7 layers) and drink ONLY water in place of any other beverage. ONLy WaTeR!! Don’t believe me, look at my before and afters. Still can’t believe it’s me. - 1 session of a strong chemical peel -Drink Water ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Oxy gently in circular motions until face starts feeling tingly. -and an oil free moisturizer! Let me know how it goes! Good luck!

I’ve been there and am still there some days (hormonal acne) but it’s gotten a lot better. My skincare is kinda crazy but it’s the only thing that works. I use a benzoyl face wash, witch hazel toner, face cream, vitamin C, and curology...yes..it’s a lot but works!

What’s your skin care routine? Just trying to figure out when I should exfoliate and/or apply moisturizer
Profile picture of annie john

You should exfoliate after using your cleanser. I use cerave foaming cleanser it’s good. You should moisturize when you’re finished doing everything like applying toner, acids( salicylic, hyaluronic, lactic etc) or whatever you use after cleansing and exfoliating. If you don’t have any of those it’s fine, just skip to your moisturizer.

hey guys :) so i am 16 years old and i want to try a skin care routine. factoring in my age and stuff what are some things and necessities i would need for a good nightly skin care routine? (if there are any specific recommendations: hopefully drugstore/walmart?)

I highly reccommend toning your face! I love using witch hazel it is gentle and good for all skin types but bc you have sensitive skin I would reccommend the alcohol free versions! I get mine from Walmart for a v good price ($4) but it's a diff version so you can try Walmart for yours but ik for sure they have this one @ Target!

@Allissa Hutchins haha you're good lots of people don't know bc toner is skipped out on a ton. It balances your skin pH and gets rid of extra bacteria/dirt that face washes don't always get. It's also good to do for a quick clean if you don't want to do a whole routine. If you want to use any one basic use toner!

@Amira Stephens thank you so much for the info and consideration lol. this may be a very stupid question and i’m sorry but was does toner do exactly? like i said i’m new lol and i’m just curious. like what are the benefits and stuff?

Just wondering what setting powders my dry skin ladies are using. I actually have only found one that works with my skin and that’s the hourglass veil powder. It’s just super expensive which if it works I gotta do what I gotta do but I’d like other recommendations just in case!

Us dry skin girls should stick to pressed setting powders the loose powders are usually better for oily skin. As for a loose powder that works with dry skin I say the Becca hydra mist set and refresh powder is really hydrating and unique but only if the shade works for you

My skin was so sensitive, I had a reaction to everything people told me to try for my acne. I finally was recommended to try curology, which was my holy grail. The cool thing is it’s personalized. You answer questions about your skin and then a professional formulates a product specifically for what you need. The first pic I’ll add is a before and after that’s 5 days apart from each other. The next pic I’ll add is like 4 months of using it when I finally felt confident with no foundation. I also will say I tested what would happened if I stopped using it, and for me I only have 1-2 pimples usually when I’m hormonal or the day after my shift at my burger shack job.

With so many people moving into serums and acids just a reminder: You should NOT mix these VITAMIN C + AHAS/BHAS : Combining retinol with Vitamin C is a recipe for peeling, redness and irritation, in short, a total disaster for the health of your skin RETINOIDS + AHAS/BHAS: damages skin moisture barrier and can cause irritation, redness, dry skin over time; use separately and sparingly RETINOIDS + VITAMIN C: may cause over exfoliation, resulting in increased skin and sun sensitivity; separate into day/night routines Benzoyl peroxide + vitamin C OIL-BASED + WATER-BASED. GLYCOLIC ACID + SALICYLIC ACID: too many acids can strip the skin and damage its ability to recover NIACINAMIDE + VITAMIN C: use in careful moderation. Some studies show that They stabilize each other some shoe that mixing vitamin c can result in a niacin flush (red irritation to the skin). -Retinols should mostly be used at night - Vitamin C should mostly be used at night -Wait 20 mins when layering multiple serums (if you find your skin can tolerate it in one setting) -Don’t forger your SPF 30 during the day -When introducing acids to your face “purging” is only normal to a certain extent
