DryDry Skin
Foundation recommendations for dry flaky skin! Okay sooo I really really hate my skin and acne and my grandma recently bought me some Too Faced born this way foundation cause I thought I may work cause I have extremely dry, flaky skin, but it didn’t and it flakes still and patches, so does anyone have tips for me on how to get it to stay or good foundations that are good coverage and preferably matte but I’m fine with whatever, my limit of paying for it is 50$ probably. Thanks!

I would definitely make sure you are exfoliating once or twice a week. That will help with the flaking. I use Boscia. It’s gentle for dry skin and gets the job done. Then moisturize with something that will hydrate your skin for the whole day. My suggestion is water drench by Peter Thomas Roth, water cream by Tatcha. Then I prime with first aid beauty’s moisturizer/primer. Then finally I use Fenton beauty’s liquid foundation with shape tape concealer. I also love, Bobbi Brown’s long-wear weightless foundation! Hope this helps!

With so many people moving into serums and acids just a reminder: You should NOT mix these VITAMIN C + AHAS/BHAS : Combining retinol with Vitamin C is a recipe for peeling, redness and irritation, in short, a total disaster for the health of your skin RETINOIDS + AHAS/BHAS: damages skin moisture barrier and can cause irritation, redness, dry skin over time; use separately and sparingly RETINOIDS + VITAMIN C: may cause over exfoliation, resulting in increased skin and sun sensitivity; separate into day/night routines Benzoyl peroxide + vitamin C OIL-BASED + WATER-BASED. GLYCOLIC ACID + SALICYLIC ACID: too many acids can strip the skin and damage its ability to recover NIACINAMIDE + VITAMIN C: use in careful moderation. Some studies show that They stabilize each other some shoe that mixing vitamin c can result in a niacin flush (red irritation to the skin). -Retinols should mostly be used at night - Vitamin C should mostly be used at night -Wait 20 mins when layering multiple serums (if you find your skin can tolerate it in one setting) -Don’t forger your SPF 30 during the day -When introducing acids to your face “purging” is only normal to a certain extent

These are references telling you how antioxidants differ from acids. And that all do not exfoliate.

Anyone know of a concealer that’s not drying but will cover dark circles? Dark circles are in my genes so mine are pretty dark, and I haven’t found one yet that I am completely happy with. Then there’s also the fact that my skin under my eyes is super dry and can get bumps/bubbles when I apply certain concealers. Thanks! #concealer #dryskin #darkcircles

What is a good moisturizer for oily skin? I typically don’t use moisturizer because my face is already oily but in the winter it does start to dry out a little bit and I use topical acne medication that sometimes dries it out as well.

Hi! I used to skip moisturizer as well because my skin is so oily. However, I came to learn that skipping moisturizer simply makes you produce more oil because you’re not hydrating your skin. I really like 3 moisturizers, all within different price ranges. The Simple light moisturizer is a really nice one for the day before makeup application. It’s about $4 for a little pouch, and the pouch lasts about 2 months if you use a pea size amount. The Glow Recipe Watermelon Juice moisturizer is very light weight as well and works nicely during the day— $39. At night (and sometimes during the day if I’m not wearing make up) I use the Drunk Elephant Protink Polypeptide moisturizer. It’s super rich and hydrating and has really made a difference in how oily I wake up in the morning. It’s in the pricier side, $68. Marula oil works wonders for those dry patches you are experiencing from the topical medication. I use it at night on any dry patches I have and the next morning it’s practically gone. Hope this helps!

My favorite is Origins VitaZing SPF15 sheer to tint release it’s a moisturizer and a tint to make it look like you have foundation on, I love the way it makes my skin looks.. I’ve had people ask me ‘do you really have foundation on or is that your natural skin tone?’

Do your face routine different. Use moisturizer first then lightly put on translucent powder (not a lot), spray setting spray and let it dry then put on primer then foundation. It helps keep your skin from getting oily and it makes your skin look amazing I also sell some amazing products. I have a serum that you put on your face that’ll help as well

my acne has always been a huge insecurity of mine, until recently I started forcing myself to see it as normal rather than a disease. I’ve tried many products but they never have really cleared me up. I’ve heard that raw African black soap is really good for acne (which I have quite a bit of) my skin used to be a lot worse years back but never to the point of cystic acne, as of right now it’s very controlled but I break out easily. Any advice on what brand has the best raw black soap or any good cleansers to clear up acne? I don’t have much acne but I do have the little tiny bumps that won’t go away and a few acne bumps here and there.
