Anyone know some good skincare products for somewhat dry and sensitive skin?

Laneige water sleeping mask, water essence, and calming mouse. Water based moisturizers like these are really good for sensitive skin and don’t feel heavy. Also try cetaphil gentle skin cleanser which leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean but not dry. Also the ulta beauty store brand has an advanced nourishing daily cleanser infused with coconut and argon oil, it works wonders for my skin and it has great reviews and it’s affordable. Hope this helps!

I have super dry skin and can’t seem to find the perfect combination of products. I also only wear concealer no foundation. What do y’all use for skincare, primer, and concealer?

You might need a hydrator and a moisturizer... use the hydrator wherever you get really dry and a moisturizer everywhere. A hydrator is going to go deeper into the skin (into the dermis) while a moisturizer only adds moisture to the outer layer (the epidermis). My personal favorite hydrator is the Clinique moisture surge because I have extremely send skin. A lot of Clinique products irritate my skin but not this one.

Ok girls! As we all know it’s getting cold outside. My face/body gets super dry in the winter and won’t hold ANY moisture. What are some good skincare tips, routines or masks to help with that??

I use Patchology masks as primer... leave mask on for 5 minutes then remove and let the remaining serum soak in ... then apply makeup for a dewy look!

Hi there! I have eczema and dry skin—super sensitive. I use a LOT of neutrogena products. I have a picture of my night routine in order.

@Stephanie Chavez the acne cream does but I don’t use it unless I have a blemish. The back of the bottle says there’s no drying alcohols. Which is what is bad for eczema—the drying stuff. But I do this routine every night and my skin is really soft and bright.

@Ashley Vigil neutrogena doesn’t contain alcohol in it?? Cuz I know products with alcohol or fragrance is bad for eczema skin. This is so helpful thanks!!

First, try this Acne Triple Clear to cleanse your skin (especially if you have acne, works wonders)! Then, try this St. Ives Apricot and Walnut Shell powder exfoliating scrub, it leaves my skin feeling smooth and it rids of dead skin cells. Use a Neutrogena toner (don't gave a picture), then use a Ponds moisturizing cream. All of these products are cheap and are available at a drugstore or Target.

SAME. My skin is also extremely sensitive so a lot of products don’t work for me. I’m allergic to fragrance and certain ingredients cause my skin to inflame and break out more. I will say that I spend more money on skincare than I do makeup. A great cleaners is Youth to the People Superfood cleanser, a good drugstore option is the Simple Water Boost Sensitive Skin Micellar Facial Gel Wash (Walmart). Toner wise, my fave (and holy grail skincare brand) is the CosRX Green Tea calming pads. CosRX is K beauty brand and it’s very affordable with amazing results. I apply this right after I rinse off my face, or hop out of the shower. I apply it while my face is still wet just because it stops your skin from feeling tight and helps your skin retain the water and moisture on your face (for a quick purchase, Walmart app. For cheaper, YesStyle). Lastly, my fave moisturizer is also by CosRX and it’s the Green Tea Aqua Soothing Gel (yesstyle) it’s lightweight, leaves the skin nice and soft, and doesn’t have any irritating or harsh ingredients. As a disclaimer, I’m also taking Curology. It’s a slow progress, but it’s giving me that boost my acne needed because working out, drinking 100-120 ounces of water, eating healthy, and keeping up with my skincare did not clear it up. Results from just the skin care routine may work better for you if you don’t have extremely sensitive skin like myself. Finally what to watch out for: 1. Avoid the Mario Badescu, it’s aimed at teens and it’s full of non-beneficial skin care ingredients with fragrances that irritate more than harm. Also, make sure that your moisturizing your skin. 2. A common misconception is that oily skin is already moisturized from the oil production. This is false. While oily skin is better in the long run than dry, painfully cracked and irritated skin. Oily prone skin needs love too. When oily skin is dehydrated or not properly moisturize your skin actually produces more sebum/oil in result causing your skin to be even more oily. 3. If you’re a make up wearer and you use a sponge (which is much better than a brush, especially for acne blemishes due to bristle irritating or flaking acne), make sure you clean your sponge every 2-3 days with unscented djsh soap like Dawn. Also be careful with concealer’s that have doe foot applicators. When your concealing blemishes with a concealer that has a doe foot, A lot of the times it can make your acne worse. The reason for that is because the applicator can harbor bacteria over time and when you dab it on a blemish, and put it back into the product, reuse it day after day, it will harbor more more bacteria with every use. If you have a good full coverage foundation, that’s all you really need. For me personally, I don’t care what people think, but sometimes when my acne was outrageous I was uncomfortable, especially if I looked extremely oily on top of that. As long as I have a good full coverage foundation, that evens out my skin tone and reduces that bright red color of acne I’m ok. I am so sorry that this is such a long post, but I wanted to make sure that you were well informed because i know the struggles and the stresses of acne. I hope this helps!

@Elizabeth Murphy I used to go to a dermatologist, but everything they gave me was too harsh for my skin! Curology just felt more personal and not a “Here! Let’s try this next!” I was more aware of what was going to happen, what my skin may experience (some itchiness, new breakouts, dryness) , the ingredients I was using, and how to prepare. Becoming aware of ingredients in your skincare is key. If you’re trying a new product make sure you’re not trying multiple at once. That way you can pinpoint what your skin is rejecting. Like with me and Mario Badescu. I’ll admit, they are an appealing brand, especially the prices. But they’re honestly not a good brand after I started reading into the ingredients. They’re a highly fragranced brand. Fragrance or Parfum irritates the skin and causes allergies down the road. For example the rose water spray. Fragrance is smacked right in the middle of it. Not only that, rose water is actually not beneficial to the skin at all compared to the extract (kind of like imitation vanilla vs vanilla extract, there’s a CLEAR difference in taste), but it’s appealing because you assume rose water is just as good. And the descriptions on the products really sell you! I used the green bottle for about 2 weeks before that last day at the end of 2 weeks my skin suddenly inflamed BADLY and my face was beat red. Not only that, but the spray never really fully absolved into my skin and it just made it sticky and like the product t was just resting on the surface of my skin. CosDNA is a good website to help you read into what’s in the products you’re using. I realized I also forgot to mention a spot treatment in my previous comment. If you’re worried about pesky whiteheads that you’re trying not to touch or pop, CosRX Pimple Master Patch with the red label is great overnight (Ulta: $6, YesStyle: $3). For under the surface acne that is large, bumpy, painful and makes the surface of the skin red? Zitsticka (their website). It’s a patch that has little “spikes” that penetrate into the skin for those acne spots that haven’t reached the surface. I hate how long this is again, but I want to help you and others that are in the same position as I was. Sometimes we’ll do ANYTHING to clear up acne, and sometimes what people recommend don’t work for everyone. You’ll become aware of what your skin needs and wants overtime. You learn what works and what doesn’t. Just be patient and everything will work out eventually.

@Juliza Arroyo thank you SO much!! a few years ago i was prescribed a system that was similar to Acutane but much safer, and it completely defeated my acne, but it is finally starting to find it’s way back. And yes I definitely need to consider my my makeup application habits way more carefully, I actually use the Mario Badescu rosewater spray daily haha I had no idea how bad it was! I will try out those products you mentioned! I really appreciate the help :)

I had the same problem, I work at Ulta and one of my coworkers recommended this overnight mask from origins and it worked wonders. I use a box chemical peel from Exuviance twice a week and I’ll use this after those or an extra day if I feel like I need it. You only want to use an exfoliant twice a week at most too and I found for me using this after the exfoliant made my skin feel so much better in the morning than it did using just a moisturizer after.

Hey Lovely’s! SOS!🚨 So I wanted to find an easy way to add a SPF to my morning routine, so I decided to get the CeraVe daytime moisturizer with SPF. Normal right? WRONG! It broke me out and now my face burns a little and itches (see pics) So here’s my question: What do y’all use to add SPF to your skincare? Because this is not working!

This is absolutely amazing, it’s a gel consistency and sinks in very quickly without any sort of greasy feeling or white cast. I’ve tried more American sunscreens than I care to think about and everything single one has left me with burning skin and a rash on my face, but this one feels nice and cooling on the skin and has never caused a bad reaction for me.

Shea moisture has a bunch of really good skincare with great ingredients and a newer brand called Your Good Skin has some products that feel lovely on the face. I know u want drugstore but if u could get a small Clinique 3-step treatment pack (they often go on sale for even $10 at Ulta) It works FAST as far as acne and hyperpigmentation. It also includes the dramatically different moisturizer which someone also mentioned I see and I totally agree 😍

Skincare products??? I’ve always dealt with the occasional bump or breakout here and there, but that was it. And I didn’t even have a good skincare routine. BUT within the last 5-6 months everything has changed. I’ve been on low estrogen birth control for over a year and that hasn’t affected my skin. Last summer I started using It cosmetics cc cream and thought it might be causing breakouts so I stopped and went to tarte. My entire face stays broke out with deep and often painful bumps no matter what I do. I drink tons of water. I wash my face religiously. I have no idea what to do. Please send some advice/products my way

I use Neutrogena face wash (the orange one, can’t remember it right now), Calamine lotion, and Mario Badescu facial spray. I personally use the aloe, cucumber and green tea formula. Smells really good too. I had pretty bad acne and this is the only combo that helped clear it up, and the Calamine lotion helped with my dark spots as well.
