Fridah Sanga's tips and tricks to keep skin glowing all autumn long

Of all the seasons, my favorite will always be autumn. Not too cold, and summer light is still visible. It also ushers in Virgo season… but don’t get me started explaining zodiac signs.

Above all other reasons that contribute to my undying love for autumn,  it being the important season in the Fashion and Beauty industry (hello, September issue of Vogue!) tops the list. To welcome my favorite season, I broke down my autumn beauty survival kit to share the things that you and your skin need to help transition your skincare routine, help repair summer's damage and see your skin calmly through cooler months.

Moisture Cleanser

As  the temperature and humidity levels drop, our skin loses moisture. Therefore, we need to ensure that we keep our skin's moisture level up, and stay hydrated. My go-to cleanser is Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser  because it helps with anti – aging, is rich and creamy, and helps to even out my skin tone.

A moisturizer cleaner hydrates the skin and protects it from the effect of the harsh winter that is to come. Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser also helps wash away the dead skin  cells without leaving  skin feeling broken and dry.

My other favourite moisturize cleaner to use is Bee Venom Cleansing Balm, My family kindly gifted me on my birthday last year, it is amazing! Great investment if you love your skin.

Serum

Before turning 30, I really didn’t pay much attention to serums as a part of my skincare routine. I just didn’t care. I was young and my skin always looked bountiful.  Skin care was last on my list of worries! My 14 year old daughter is already obsessed with looking after her skin. She has a strict skin care routine, I admire her for that. She is in fact my best teacher when it comes to skincare.

After hitting 30, I started to pay serious attention to my skin. Once I discovered serums, I've never looked back. My go to is Clarins Double Serum, it reduces aging, uneven skin tone and brings my skin to life.

I can't stress enough how serum has been my life saver. I use them all year long, but when the weather cools down, they're even more important to protect your skin from the consequences of dry air, wind and a lack of moisture. Serum helps to boost, hydrate and make your skin look plump and glowy even in the cold winter days.

Moisturizer

Thick moisturizer in the autumn are my go to,  I love them because they help in the transition period. Transitioning the skin from a lightweight summer moisturizer to thick and reach winter ones. My go to is Creme de la Mer Moisturizing Cream. To start, it is luxurious and feels and smells luxurious .. I know that sometimes people say that  most expensive products don’t work! That has not been the case with La mer for me.  In my opinion It is the best in the market, it  firms my skin, and always feels smooth and fresh. Did I mention it is a great deal as an anti aging. Give it a go it works wonders! Only downside is it is a little pricey, but way cheaper than a trip to a surgeon.

Lip Treatments

In autumn, we see lips shift from baby pinks to rich reds and moody mauves.  I'm  one of those people that feels naked without lipstick on ... like, completely exposed.

Lips just like any other part of your skin, they need some TLC year round, but even more when the season changes. I find that my lips are get dry as the weather gets colder. I always have to have a lip balm in my bag. My go to is Dior Addict Lip Glow in the colder month I like natural, nude color except for Christmas of course- I always have to have a red lip.
